It won’t be as frequent as every week like in Florida as that just isn’t realistic coming from the east coast but I do anticipate being able to offer regular comprehensive updates.
When this is completed and the people of California will be able to experience this. Its success will perhaps convince more people to see the benefit in HSR and the CAHSR project.
Love the name! I’m one city over from Rancho Cucamonga and grew up in South Florida. I’m so hyped for this HSR, for Brightline, for the US. I like what Steve Benjamin said: “an ambitious project for an ambitious nation”.
Congratulations on your first Brightline West video! I have followed your excellent documentation of Brightline Florida from start to finish. I am very happy to know that you covering this new project. I am certain you will bring the same passion and excellence to this project. Thanks!
Glad to see them giving the Infrastructure Act the credit it deserves, it drives me crazy that Americans fail to see the transformative effect this bill will have on our country
I live in the Central Valley, but I am still excited to see this project get underway. CA needs more than one high speed rail initiative, and So Cal to Los Vegas are two good locations for this project.
This is really exciting! After riding Brightline in Florida, I’m so looking forward to ride Brightline West from the L.A. area to Las Vegas, when it’s officially into service!
I was in Vegas a few months ago and went to visit a supplier's warehouse, and when I looked at a map, I went "hey, this is literally right across the street from the new Brightline station!" Of course, no one else in my group cared... I can't wait for HSR to truly come to the US.
Good start. Realistically we need a complete HSR network on the west coast to get people to use it. We need a route from the Sacramento and the Bay Area into the LA Basin and from Vegas to San Deigo and into the LA Basin. Connect No Cal , So Cal and Vegas
After what you did in Florida, I too am excited for you and that you have been given the rights to cover the building of this line. I know you will do a phenomenal job just like Florida. I still have that offer open the next time I am in South Florida to buy you a drink so we can talk trains. Again to bad I missed you when you did the filming in the Arlington area near DC.
Considering the high quality of your videos, both content and video quality, I suspect your popularity and subscribers will increase dramatically. Once the West Coast viewers find you, they'll know that you are the trusted source for all things Brightline and trains in general. I am looking forward to your next update. Thanks Bob
I have followed you for a long time. The coverage for Brightline West is appreciated. My grandfather worked for the LA&SL railroad from 1903 to 1960. This will be fun to watch. Thank you.
Holy smokes. It's about time. You dream and hope for something for so long that when it happens, it doesn't seem real. Part of me doesn't want to get excited until the first train finishes its first trip, but I can't help but be happy. Once people start riding this, I really think it'll make a difference in getting new projects up and running. Hopefully it'll mean eventually getting real high speed here on the Northeast Corridor, the developing Southeast Corridor, and maybe out to Chicago one day. Fingers crossed.
They need to develop a service between LAUPT and the Brightline station in Rancho Cucamonga. Maybe a special train that leaves downtown in time to connect with eastbound high speed trains. Better yet would be to electrify the Metrolink line.
Brightline will connect with Metrolink trains from La Union Station at Rancho Cucamonga. More than likely, Metrolink will revise schedules and add trains to the San Bernardino line. Metrolink also serves East Los Angeles, El Monte, Baldwin Park, Covina, Pomona, Claremont, Montclair, Upland, Fontana, Rialto, and of course. San Bernardino. San Bernardino is also served by the new Redlands line.
Please send us regular reports on the construction status. I'm looking forward to seeing what kind of vehicle will be adopted by Brightline West.Personally, I would like an ICE or TGV M vehicle.
Absolutely, Amtrak is having such problems with the Acela train sets from Alstom. My concern is that it'll get done by 2028 but the train sets won't get approvals.
Let's hope it comes to fruition. Nearby, apparently a large organization wants to build an NBA facility with subsequent development around it. Hope that there is sufficient room for all that. The area is empty now but I think that it will build out quickly over the next decade.
There has not been any official details on contractors or the purchase of trainsets. The 2028 timeline seems unachievable. The only work detected is test drilling. Even so, it will probably start before CHSR.
There might not have been a press release announcing contractors, but they have been selected for several years with people on the ground along the project making preparations even if shovels haven’t been in the ground.
I thought this was higher speed rail, not nigh speed? I thought BLW was not going to fall under the international standard of high speed just like BL doesn't? Will it exceed 155mph?
You don't often see high speed rail built on highway rights of way like this; often roads were built along existing railroads but very rarely have the new generation of high-speed lines "reciprocated". LGV-Nord in France mostly does go on or next to highway right of way, though off to one side of the A1 autoroute as the median of that is narrow. But this almost all median route will be good for making the point to drivers.
Brightline projects to complete the line by 2028, and CAHSR will not open its first segment before 2030. Even if everything goes right for CAHSR, Brightline West would have to be 2 years late (a 50% increase in construction time) for CAHSR to start running trains first.
The huge advantage Brightline has is all the land has been acquired this will speed things up. Also since most of the land is rented the cost will be so much cheaper the other rail project. Brightline had to build a couple of stations they didn’t want but by doing that they solved a lot of political issues.
When I heard Spain as an example more than once I realized that we have the HSR so "normalized" that almost nobody knows that Spain has the lowest construction costs and the second longest network in the world, it's funny how people's perspective is different depending on what they have. Best wishes!! Hope all goes smooth.🤞
The one problem with this project is the insistence of the use of union workers. Even if they somehow finagle them to get them to work quickly during construction (unions generally don't) they'll eventually act as a huge drag on the project in operations.
Wow, Sec Buttigieg's speech honestly moved me; I think I had forgotten what a good speaker could be after almost a decade of media focus on the dinosaurs at the top of our government. That guy should run for president! 😂
Thank you president Joe Biden for making this real project possible. With public and private funding, this project will be a barometer for future bullet train building and construction.
It amazes me that our govt. cannot do something like this by itself...It takes a private company to do this, although they do have partial funding from the govt. Our govt. can't get out of its' own way , sometimes.
I am very very excited for this project not only because of its manageable yet cutting-edge scope but because of its compact timeline.. The Deadline? The 2028 Summer Olympics which is 4 years and 4 months away... 52 months to build America's only true-ish HSR and to get this right... I look forward to seeing its progress! Because it has little room for failure!
Congrats on the documentation contract. It will be exciting to watch this all electric High speed rail line come to life.
I cannot wait for this project. There is so much High speed rail being developed and I'm all for it.
Especially since trains, of all modes of transportation, use the lowest amount of energy.
Thanks for covering the Brightline West Project. I hope you can cover this project as heavily as you did with Brighline in Florida.
It won’t be as frequent as every week like in Florida as that just isn’t realistic coming from the east coast but I do anticipate being able to offer regular comprehensive updates.
@@RoamingRailfan Sounds good, Thank you for keeping us informed.

YES YES YES, I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS. My weekly routine of watching this can start up again.
When this is completed and the people of California will be able to experience this. Its success will perhaps convince more people to see the benefit in HSR and the CAHSR project.
After this and the Tampa expansion, Brightline should build tracks in Texas connecting the big cities of central Texas. Call it Brightline: Lone Star
That would be fkin dope. As a native Texan, I would love that.

The timeline is certainly ambitious
hoping brightline west gets all the support it can get. the future of high speed rail in america depends on it being ready by 2028
Great video! I feel like I was there. Thank you!
This should have been done years ago. I've been hoping you would do more videos on brightline west.
I am so hype to see this happen! Thank you for your on the ground reporting!

No reason to fly from l.a.x to Las Vegas with high speed rail between the two cities ✌️❤️🇬🇧
lets gooo!!!
finally free from stressful transport 😅
REALLY looking forward to your coverage of THIS railway project. Is it true this is going to be a single-track high speed railway?
Yes. There will be passing sidings so they can run departure from each end every 45 minutes.
@@daniellewis1789 I've never seen a high speed railway built that way. Hopefully it works out.
