FOR THOSE WITH A PLATINUM TRIM, this is the video for you! Thanks for this video! Just walked through these steps and installed mine. I was very nervous as this was my first modification that involved a few tools and the possibility of causing damage but I made it through thanks to this video. I have several of your videos saved, so I can’t wait to modify more things on my highlander.
I appreciate the support, let me know if you have any questions with future mods!
Very straightforward and informative. Thank you very much, excellent job!
Thanks brother, your videos are super helpful.
Hi thanks so much for your video I seen these on Amazon copied the item description pasted on UA-cam and your video came up now I know these items will work for my highlander awesome thanks again!
Thanks Pete! You should join our Facebook group and be a part of our modding community, we help and inspire each other with support and ideas!
Good job brother you're the best
Thanks for this and great instructions! I was stuck on my 2023 Highlander Limited till I found your video. The company video appears to be for a different model and mine is like yours
I like it black and thank you for video
Great video and you've given me the confidence to do this on my xse as well!
Maybe a future video could be installing some of those interior led strip kits. Also finding a cutout wrap to put over the front Toyota logo to black it out without covering the cameras / sensors.
Thanks! The process is straightforward but I know removing the mirror can give us anxiety. I'll keep your idea about the interior strip lights in mind.
If you are looking for a vinyl wrap for the front /back Toyota emblems, some from the FB Toyota group members have purchased from the guy below and have no issues with the dynamic radar cruise control sensor located behind the front emblem.
There's a bunch to choose from like glossy black, matte black, carbon fiber, etc, hope that helps!

Good job. Looks good & the black mirror caps do add a good contrast. I'm a bit nervous about taking the sideview mirrors out but you just gave me some confidence!
Thanks! I was nervous too so if you start in the upper right corner to take the mirror out, it's the safest area to apply pressure to remove it. Good luck!
I got the XP package on mine so I got the black mirrors already
The white cap is much better looking!
Salt N pepper baby! lol
@@vietbubbletea Fair enough, I see you're going for the contrasting look. Have you don't anything new to it since?
@@DungarooTV Yup, I've done at least 10 other mods since this video just check out my video archive in chronological order. Most recent mod was installing hood struts so stay tuned.
Lia Toyota of rockland county is where I bought the running boards after taxes was $420 picked up.
@Daniel N That's a great price. I've ordered parts from Lia Toyota online before and they didn't charge me taxes or shipping on my order above $75, can't beat that!
I like the Body color ( white ) better, no reason but that's my opinion .
Nice job I wouldn't have the nerve to take those apart. You ought to start a business doing these to Highlanders. I have a platinum and I would love to have some of the things you installed done ,but not will to risk screwing up my car.
I would love to get these turn signals and the camera in the mirror. Both of those are great additions!!!!
@Todd Thanks for the positive feedback and you're right, everyone has personal preferences which makes modding enjoyable to see what others have done!
I admit, some of the mods I've done had me questioning myself if I can do it but sometimes we just gotta step outside our comfort zone and try! If you're ever in Seattle, I'd be more than happy to help you out.
Thanks for the wonderful video. Have you noticed any shaky or jittery left side mirror when driving?
Thanks, no issues before or after the mod. Just need to be careful not to break the plastic clips that hold the mirror to the housing.
Hey man,
Could you please make a video to install backup LED lights?
Check out this video!
ua-cam.com/video/_be7zd6QBlE/v-deo.html
You should also put the front and rear DRL sequential light and do a installation !
And also post the video of how you install!!!! Pls
Thanks for the suggestion, I'm still debating on the front DRL since I've heard from some owners that the LED diodes will burn out in less than a year so gotta research a reliable company. As for the rear DRLs, I'll most likely pass since the ones I've seen don't have reflectors built into the aftermarket housing and I don't want to put my family at risk if the car dies and gets stuck on the road. Those reflectors can warn cars coming from behind to move if all my electronics is dead.
I’m kinda Leary of the disassembly, but it looks sharp!
I hear ya, anything that requires applying pressure points to remove scares me too. I had such a sense of relief when the passenger side mirror popped out with no damage to the clips!
Thank you for the video , Greatly appreciated
Than, do you know of any LED grill lights that are good?
Are you referring to the raptor lights we see on Rav4s and 4Runners? I haven't researched it personally but theres someone in our Facebook group thats posted some pics of his setup with various mounting points on the front grill.
Where did you got Mirror caps from ? I’ve been looking for them for a while now !
@Enan Amir Check the video description, I've provided the website and product numbers for the mirror caps there, thanks!
Can You make it glossy Black your rims too?
You can powder coat or Hyperdip your rims if you like the glossy black look
Will these fit the 22 tundra ? They look the same size
I can't find that part number so I'm unsure if the mounting points are compatible.
Where did you bought it the black mirrors cover ?
Online from the dealership, I put the link and product number in the video description.
Hi. Do you have folded mirror factory equipment?
Thank you.
Unfortunately not, factory auto folding mirrors are only available on 2023 and up models in the US.
@@vietbubbleteabut cart trim home has for Highlander 2020-2022. Will it work on Highlander any trim before HL 2023?
@@sasha85ful Not sure, I know the aftermarket product won't fit on Highlanders with the 360° birds eye view camera.
By any chance will you do a video about headlights bulb ?
Hi Yong, my headlights are already stock LED projectors so I don't plan to change them. Are you asking for a review of the OEM headlight bulb or an aftermarket one?
@@vietbubbletea I'm trying to install a aftermarket bulb but I can't find the dust cap anywhere and their is no video of someone doing it on 2021 Toyota Highlander so I thought you did it
@@yongmochoi347 What trim level is your Highlander? I'll check for you.
I have xle thanks
@@yongmochoi347 Just checked and I don't see the traditional black rubber dust cap on older generation models but I did notice a rectangular grey plastic cover held in by 3 screws located directly behind the projector headlight bulb. I believe that is the access point to the bulbs. I'll post a video shortly if it helps you out. Hopefully that answers your question!
Where did you order the mirror covers from?
Toyota dealership online, I put their website and OEM product number in the video description.
Funny when mirrors were advertised as painted now we change them to black !! And vice versa
Lol 😆
@funkbro2 IKR! 😅 I'm an old school chrome guy and I remember when chrome was marketed as luxury and now people are blacking out and chrome deleting everything. Both look great, I guess we are all itching to change anything we can!
@@vietbubbletea yes you are right, everyone wants different
I’m a Toyota employee, long time Honda fan. I have put in my order for a Highlander now and watched some of your videos to help me decide on the trim
Do i have to remove the mirror if i have a xle trim or no?
Hi Marc, I confirmed in the Toyotanation forums that our side mirrors are all the same design and the mirror would need to be removed in order to access the 4 torx screws. The only difference I can think of between XLE and Platinum side mirrors would be the two extra metal prongs sticking out from the mirrors and some extra wiring for the heated/defrost feature.
@@vietbubbletea Hello Than, thank you for confirming. I’ll try to install the sequential light this weekend. Wish me luck! Hehe
@@diwataaa You got this bro! Just apply pressure at the upper right corner like I did with one hand and then push the mirror from the back with the other hand. Post pics when you're done!
Just learned that you only need to remove 3 out of the 4 torx screws furthest away from the door!
@@vietbubbletea thank you! I installed the lights!
What happened to your audio on this one?
I used a cheap GoPro knock-off camera, never again! lol
@@vietbubbletea Got ya! Good video anyway. 🙂
I know fur sho I would've broke something 😅🤣 that's just my luck
I hear ya, it can feel like a delicate process for sure. Just take your time!
I have seen a few of your videos before and they have been quite helpful, but the audio on this one is not the greatest.
Thanks for the feedback. I attempted to use a cheap action cam when recording this video so I can use both of my hands. Unfortunately, the mic was not the best resulting in the poor audio which I discovered after the fact. Lesson learned!
