For those interested, the ADD sessions took place in Hoboken, NJ on 21 May 2009 according to the Sonic Youth Concert Chronology.

Lee & Thurston don’t get the credit they deserve for opening the electric guitar up to an entirely new role as an instrument. The only one to really break the thing open like that prior to them was jimi hendrix

Thurston's 2017 album was my favorite "rock" album in SO long...it was is good live...absolutely unforgettable
I've never heard anyone mention any part of sy never getting the cred they deserve. They're generally regarded as rock gods with enough indie cred to make pavement look like a kpop group

A delay, look for one that self oscillates, i don´t know which one he is actually using but i read somewhere that he (lee) was using a delay built by his tech
It sounds like it's doing some pitch shifting as well
At 0:39 you can see he is using a Digitech PDS 1002 digital delay
Sweeping the "time" knob on self-oscillating delays will cause that.

Thurston was looking intense. He's probably always been like that when recording. He's like a giant kid on stage. Even on their last tour. Haven't had the pleasure of seeing any of them since. I guess I could watch thay show up above.
