Plus the final chorus in German: Erst wenn die Wolken schlafen gehen Kann man uns am Himmel sehen Wir haben Angst und sind allein Gott weiß ich will kein Engel sein
Like many people I do prefer the German version but oh my god this is still good!!! I only found out about this last Sunday on the way to the Coventry gig. These guys never, ever disappoint. ❤🔥💥🔥🔥🔥💥❤🔥
It's actually not as bad as I thought it would be, just the line "God damn not an angel when I die" sounds really weird. But I guess if you don't understand the original you wouldn't think it's so bad.
Here "damn" isn't an interjection, it's rather a negated verb in the imperative, so it just means "God, don't damn an angel when I die", just in an another phrasing.
God knows i dont wont to be a angel. Doesn't sound so good, like he sing it here. That is what the original poster want to say. Nothing to do with damn.
I didn't think there was an English version of this song, and it's really good, but I prefer the German version even more It is worth remembering that this version is not a translation of the German version, most of the lyrics in this version are different from the original

So I'm German and I like listening to all the Rammstein songs and that's why it seems strange to me, but it's still cool, just one question, did Lindemann sing it?😂❤
See it sounds good. But on the German version "Gott weiss ich will kein engel sein" means "God knows I don't want to be an angel" and here they say "Goddamn not an angel when I die" so that confuses me alot, and this version has more of that 'Till Lindemann' vibe, Du hast (English version) has darker / deeper voice imo
Agree that the female chorus is one of the best that you have heard.
Bobo?
Perfectly done. Gotta respect they did english versions of their German songs and they are still amazing and a new experience for fans.

It's so good they inserted the German refrain at the end and everyone can compare. The German one sounds sexier.

Its nice to hear the English version, but the German version is far better i think.
Of course, it's impossible to translate perfectly, plus I think Till's voice sounds better in german

One of the few times where the english version sounds just as good as the german version

nice translite
Those female vocals tho.. honestly sounds better than the German version.

have rammstein done anymore like this? I heard Du Hast already.
They had released an english version of Amerika too
