    We love chestnuts in Spain. They are a perfect autumn treat! In many regions, you'll find vendors roasting them on street corners, filling the air with that deliciously smoky scent. Roast them with a sprinkle of salt.

    You can use the post pounder to lift the post. Place the pounder at an angle with the hole up next to the post. Manipulate the post and pounder to get the lip of the pounder on a post notch. A steeper angle is better. Then pull the post to "lift" against the pounder. Im sure there are UA-cam vids that show this in action.

    The pond in that scene in beginning of video where you were feeding the ducks, reminded me of a painting from Monet! It looked beautiful with the duckweed on it. I know the duckweed is annoying but there for a few seconds it was a very peaceful scene. Thank you for this video today!

    Hi Evan - The fencing looks awesome ! You dad is spot on, there is indeed a rubber diaphram inside the pump that over time can get a pin hole leak or tear in the rubber and then it will not pump the normal amount of fuel into the carb.

    Chestnuts a good to eat. Save them for your own consumption and feed your pigs acorns you can collect in your woodlots. Only a suggestion but acorns are harder to make fit for human consumption.

    When one of those chestnut trees get large, you’ll have hundreds of chestnuts. We had a chestnut tree at the house I grew up at. It got very big. And quite messy too. We have chestnut and black walnut trees at the golf course that I work at.

    Speaking from experience after you get done running your field fence, it's a good idea to run a strand of barb wire above the field fence so the cattle don't ruin your fence if they press down on it with their head

    Plant persimmon trees to attract deer. Plant 3 trees in each hole. Let the trees grow for 3 years and then cut down the 2 slowest growing trees. This way odds are a tree will survive where you want it to be planted. The trees are low-cost or free If you propagate your own from local trees.

    You fencing is looking good. Try cutting a pipe 60 inches long and then slide it over your T posts and drive it down the pipe should stop it at the length of the pipe. Give that a try on a couple of posts.

  • @ronkennedy213

    Evan I think doing the bottom bracket of the angled brace first might work better, doing the higher bracket at chest/waist level last seems easier to me. Maybe I am missing something here though.

    • @CountryViewAcres
      @CountryViewAcres  4 години тому +1

      After you get the pipe on the bottom bracket. You have to slide the bracket up! So the pipe is jammed tight between the brackets. The middle bracket is already tightened down and won't move. So you have to do the bottom last.

    Hi evan it would be a good idea to have an inline fuel filter on the mower to protect that fuel pump if it doesn't already have one. Change it if it does. It could be partially clogged and would act the dame way

    Have two belt pouches. One with a leatherman, one with a pair of combination pliers. Yes the leatherman has pliers but not as rugged as a proper pair. Those two tools will be right at your hand without opening a tool box and will do 90% of farm fixes. If you need something else you probably need your shop anyway.

  • @TimothyRadachi
    @TimothyRadachi 3 години тому +2

    In my opinion chestnuts are far too valuable to be fed to swine or deer! You will get more bang for your buck by selling them around the holidays. Great in chestnut stuffing in that Thanksgiving turkey. If you want to feed hogs and deer gather up as many acorns as you can, they are free if you have access to oak trees. Hopefully chestnut blight is not prevalent in your neck of the woods.
