Early 2001! I have this on a CD-R a friend burnt me that spring. Very psychedelic! My version is only I think 61 minutes long and missing the 1st couple minutes of this audio. It is still an amazing listen now in 2024.
They work on the same level as White Noise, their predecessors did in 1969 with An Ekectric Storm (You get sample snippets of the work on Orb stuff yet), and likr them, despite having many sounds and FX that are of their times, their stuff still holds it's own compared to most around us (who mostly all sound the same as everybody else in the ''same scene''). And of coursed, Pink Floyd at their best, and Gong/Steve Hillage. All sonically interconnected. Genuine psychedelia tends to never date in the normal kind of way. Incidentally, as an aside: that counts Grateful Dead out. A) They couldn;t jam on acid B) And their excuse was ''everything on acid is psychedelic (Though true in one sense. It's really a cop-out on their behalf. They only got Kesey's Electric Kool Aid Acid Test gigs due to their involvement with Hell's Angels. (Floiyd were genuine about it till Syd went a bit potty) Otherwise 13th Floor Elevators were THE genuine crew for the Kesey Acid Test
12:39, Now This Is Music. Also I was reminded that I have to charge my phone to listen to the rest of this. Also I kind of wish that I had a tab of Purple Window Pane, but I haven't done anything like that in Decades... Hahahahahahahaha 😂!!!
As John Peel used to say (about The Fall) ''always the same, always different''. The same can be said of The Orb. So.. there! Stick THAT in yer smoke and pipe it! I noticed below someone mention the Orb's generosity. This is true of their natures. In fact, I;ve been at a few festivals, and the stage management wkill stand at the side giving the cut-throat signal to finish trhe set (time). ANd usually always Alex, will give the winding forward signak to them to say, ''no, continuing'' ANd that can go on for aniother few hours whern we are lucky. Usually the stage management will insist they stop (Council lisencing, late night noise control etc). But, in general, unless they are knackered after a flight etc, they WILL go on and on and on...
I did know someone that followed around the Grateful Dead and had liquid. That was Too Intense for Me... But the one that made me stop doing stuff like that Decades Ago was the Black Castle Blotter that was really, Really Bad!!!

I’m a HUGE orb fan so finding this is actually crazy
Had my first experience with The Orb on music festival recently. I was left completely astonished. One of the best EDM sets I've ever heard.
@@endajd. highly recommend you go listen to some of the other albums they have, also I consider this genre IDM not EDM

This is barely more than a mess of ramshackle samples played over crap tunes. I'm a fan of Adventures beyond but this is crap
