- BEFORE YOU WATCH THIS VIDEO AND HATE IT, I was VERY young at the time and had no idea how to commentate or do things. Please be aware that I've gotten better at commentating and making videos overall. No need to judge one of my very FIRST videos on the channel. If you want to judge regardless, be my guest. Also, when I first uploaded this I had no idea that one of MrBean35000vr's video has the same glitch as I discovered so technically he discovered it first but I also discovered it by trying something new for a change :P Hope it helps those who are having hard times getting the gem but it's not that easy to do since this glitch took me many attempts into getting it right and excuse me for the fails xD. Please leave feedback because it really helps me much much more and inspires me to make videos and glitches like this. So please leave feedback :)
Note to self: Never try a camera's built in mic even it's clear like this one but it's hard to talk with it :p

Indeed it is... It's kinda interesting to look back into glitches inside older games.
I did this when I was a kid and I can't believe I had to search it up and remember how I got it. Just like Crash Bandicoot 2 where you get the Red Gem early and all I did was the Arrow Iron Box Crate jump spam. Then I came to realization there was a secret level and discovered it 20 years later.
Just came across this video and have to say your vocabulary and way of speaking has been improved drastically
i tried it by jumping when i see the yellow gem, i didnt have to climb from the roof deck, but i wasn't able to successfully do it on the first try. an easier way is to jump to the left from the place where the guy with the flying carpet is levitating. Just force it by jumping high and spin as much as you can
My Dad years ago did this same method but closer to the very end. It took many tries and many lives but he did it lol I was there :)

The way I did it, you go to where the portal shows up, and that thing you bounce on, you bounce from there and spin. You don’t necessarily have to have the Diamond on screen
The title says it all. And nope. I just did the all power-ups from the start glitch and managed to get the yellow gem without needing to go to the hidden warp room.

Imagine my face when I discovered that with red gem no UA-cam back in a day's nothing as for yellow gem didn't know that.Niceee
I did a trick similar to this, but idk if my copy, at the time I bought it, was bugged or not, because it took me an hour to get it after realizing the skull platform that appears is accessed after dying a certain amount of times, exiting, and then coming back. All I know is, back then, it took me a lot of weeks to found out the solution, and there was no UA-cam back then.
The Nitro box trick, without dying, I did with ease just by timing the double jump.
This is pretty much the way to get it without the need of getting relics at all. If you want to do it super early in the game without the need of going through the bosses for the power ups, then just simply do the power up glitch if you happen to know how.

That's impressive! I tried it before I realized you're not supposed to be able to get it and I ended up getting caught on a building and couldn't get off or kill myself. Had to go back to the warp room :P

It's a frame perfect input, or at least a very precise one. You need to have some speed and jump into the nitro, and in the exact same moment you land you need to jump. The other way is by double jumping, you do the exact same thing but after you land you double jump. It's safer and works better for large groups of nitros, but it's slower in general.

U can just do it for the other side. Near the end portal is a lot easier.

Why did not you destroy the NITRO box with a bazooka?
This trick is nice but its not useful to speedrunners because you need to have that superspin of whatever its called so you cant do this first time you enter this level.. Also if you would do this during time trial you would die and have to restart the level so secret warp room is faster.
I wondered, did you keep pressing 'up' after hitting the box and start to spin all the way to the gem? Why did you jump to the left?
mastering it is not hard took me about 20 times but now i can do it once every time
if you're referring to an emulator, you're free to customize your controller button layout. But, I'd stick with R2 since it's that way.

it's not realy a glitch, it's just an exploit. you jump on a box and spin to it. you don't go through walls on get teleported somewhere because of a specific reason.
Glitch, exploit... Doesn't really matter to me. I just found this out for fun, and decided to make a video of it just briefly explaining how it works.

You should! It’s very easy to emulate, or you can grab the N.Sane Trilogy to play the remade version of Crash 3 :)
I use Dxtory to record my PC games. For beginners, try Fraps instead because Dxtory's a little complicated and take s a while to understand.
Lol instead of losing life after life, in the time it took to finally get the yellow gem, you could have collected the gem playing the death route. Just sayin'.
Maybe we want to try this trick? Or maybe I'm not into collecting 10 relics? If I wanted a speed challenge I would play Crash CtR. So "just saying" , play it as you want to
@leo gomez you can press the right arrow key to skip 5 seconds ahead, so just press right every 0.5 seconds until you see shit you like :)

The gem has to be on screen, or else you won't get it.
I don't really have a kik... But, I can't help you any further about PS1 related stuff since I'm busy doing and getting ready for some stuff to do later in August.
I still say it's faster to just get 10 Relics to do so. In fact, if I ever go back to this game, since I don't have a PS4 to play N-Sane Trilogy on, I say I'd want to take this to the extreme and get it, not only before beating Dingodile by getting one of the Relics in Ski Crazed, but also get everything in Hang 'Em High in one go by getting the Yellow Gem, then backtracking to get the Crystal and break every crate.

But how is this faster if you have to beat cortex to get a gem that you can acquire with a minimum of 10sapphire relics? Hahaha do you know if this is possible without the speed boots? It didnt seem like they contributed much compared to the double jump and super spin power ups.
One word. All power-ups glitch. I'm sick and tired of people saying "Ohh this is a faster way? Doesn't look like it because you can't do that if you don't complete the game" Blah blah blah I've heard it all before on pms. Sorry if I'm being rude, but just think it through... Well I understood everything that's for sure! Getting the yellow gem is a bit frustrating because you absolutely need 10 relics. Getting the yellow gem that way takes like WAY less time!

The game's like 16 years old lol. It doesn't get patched that easily because of how old, yet fun the game is. Besides, this was on emulator when I first "discovered" it.

This is all done on emulator. It's not possible to patch something made 20 years ago. And tbh, it wouldn't make sense patching something made at that time. So nope.

Double jump technique. You double jump just before you touch the nitro, and it'll trigger it without getting you killed. It's kinda hard to do but it's manageable.
