In Anthony Padilla’s interview he said he bases his online persona after the people he grew up around in New York, who are very aggressive and usually conservative, he doesn’t share a lot about his actual life or opinions, especially not political ones

Keeping out of drama is why people like Philza and most of the hermits have such wholesome communities, i am part of both and I will say everyone is really welcoming in the hermit community its refreshing compared to the dsmp community.
Yeah, I hate how everyone just hear DSMP, and they think "that's the only thing that represent the MC community" existing others communities and content creators, recently getting into HermitCraft, and they are very cool
I'm from Philza community and is truly one of the most healthy communities I had been, the Crows are very funny, same can be say for Techno Community, even with him gone, his community is still very wholesome, a big good part of the nerds been supportive to Techno's Father: Mister Technodad, and also, getting into Phil's and Tommy's communities.

@Aroace_Raven yeah, I appreciate the DSMP, even if now things became difficult, aleast I appreciate it for what it was at the moment, and obviously, QSMP opened a big door in the Minecraft Community, having the idea to been able to interact with others streamers around the world, not matter the language, but is wrong to say they are the "only ones" having others that, maybe aren't that popular, but still shows a healthy community that likes that they do.

Aside from tommy, one of the og minecraft youtuber who didn’t get a single controversy was dantdm. Bro is now a father, which is really a nice glow up for him.
Edit: Yes I know there are more minecraft youtuber's who are less likely if not, not get in to controversies at all like tubbo, ranboo, grian etc. But what I was specifically talking about were og minecraft youtubers who were really in their prime popularity at the time something like popularmmos and gamingwithjen with their lucky block series, or my example earlier dantdm with his mod showcase story like series. And yes Philza is an og, but unlike dantdm and popularmmos's popularity growth at the time, he wasn't as popular at the time than he is right now. Yes, Stampy didn't have any serious or major controversy whatsover but I didn't make him as an example due to his casting crews having dramas or controversies of their own, but stampy in of itself is pretty clear.

I just want to say, there are other minecraft communities that *aren't* the dsmp. One of the biggest examples being Hermitcraft.
What I'm getting at is this: the dsmp doesn't represent the mcyt community as a whole, stop implying it does.

People tend to either not realize that or just ignore it, instead claiming that Twitter represents everyone in the entire mcyt community.

I don't think that the entire minecraft community is dangerous. There are just a few creepy ones who gained a lot of subscribers.
Every Fandom or comunity has people that scape reality, thus the behavior you see in the headlines of the news
I was part of the gd community and people got exposed as pedofiles/other types of criminals so often, mc is light in comparison to other fandoms
I think it stems from the Carson situation all the way back from smplive, which sparked the stereotype of creeps within the mc yt and twitch community
from what it looks like, its like 90% just the DSMP side of MCYT, there's bad everywhere in every fandom but that doesn't mean the WHOLE fandom is bad. Something similar is the MHA/BNHA fandom, apparently there a lot of elitists in it but you just gotta find your section where those people arent, and just ignore when they pop in

The DreamSMP is not the whole minecraft community and it doesn't represent the minecraft community, there are others communities like hermicraft that are wholesome as hell and mostly free of drama.

I think it's also worth noting that Tommy doesn't owe anyone in the community a response. I can imagine that it must be pretty gut punching to find out someone you considered to be your friend or even like a brother is a horrible person. We need to let him process his feelings privately and if he wants he can make a response when he feels ready.
Completely agree. Too many people are way too pressed on wanting to hear a response from Tommy rather than giving him time to fully process something that’s really impactful for him.
I feel for him, dude has had like multiple different people he considered friends that he met when he was really young turn out to be scumbags, plus he seems to be very impacted by the passing of Techno. Give him time, processing is different for everyone.

@@saturna1576 To respond to your end remark from another comment, in the Minecraft community, you don't actually have to do something bad, just a little step in the wrong way and you're out, you don't even have to do anything occasionally, as there have been situations were people were cancelled for fake charges. So it is not fair of you to assume a broad generalization of affected people when there are many factors that should be taken into consideration.
I think its interesting the few who are still good in the dsmp community [tommy, ranboo, tubbo, phil] were either kids or more mature than most of the others. When tommy, tubbo, and ranboo started they were kids and had to deal with what their “friends” are now putting others through, and with phil, since he’s the most mature of the group he really dose take on the parent role, trying to protect others.
The fact that they were all young when they met these creators gives them leverage, because it’s obvious they weren’t going to know everything about the creators so why tf would you be mad at them? People like dream who tends to make his situation worse by not taking a break on twitter and online overall, George whose behavior is commonly shrugged off due to his rep, and Wilbur’s response to something proven by multiple friends he had was what made their downfall. None of which evolved any of those people’s faults as they couldn’t have known about it or do anything about it, these are grown men who fucked around and found out that they nearly caught a case/or are charged with one, that’s how I see it personally.

I recently went to his show, he talked about getting doxxed and all that, and it really shows how dedicated he was at such a young age to the good parts of the community. (lol shlatt even voiced the villain of the show for him)

It’s very interesting to watch the ending of this video, when you also have Tubbo as an example, who went through pretty much the same path as Tommy, but he is very opinionated and spoke up on multiple situations (like Sapnap joining Kick and Wilbur’s ‘apology’). So as much as I agree that in a lot of controversial situations staying silent for youtubers is best (i mean, everything about Dream wouldn’t be as bad as it is if he stopped with his long ass responses to every little thing), I don’t think it’s necessarily why Tommy stayed afloat.
Tommy is just a good person, they can all be good people, but I don't think the world will allow that.

Bench Trio basically split, Techno died before anything bad happened (and he might've caused the whole crash), Niki, as far as I know, has been relatively okay, and Schlatt has been doing the same shit since his beginning

Actually shelby has lots of evidence against her that shes not accusing him shes self reporting or generally lying. Additional it was found out shes done this before to 1 or 2 past exes. Apparently shes Christian and wants a traditional marriage and child situation but wilber and her other ex(es) just didnt, and she didnt that well to that. Shes also outted herself as very ablest during a lot of the streams where she discussed the situation.

Tommy isn’t suspicious, it’s the fact that so many beloved UA-camrs have been accused or even exposed for doing some pretty bad stuff. It makes you wonder if any of those unconfirmed accusations are even true. It wasn’t true for dream, he completely dunked on the accusations thrown at him.

Tbh, the Dsmp isn’t the whole Minecraft community; their is a lot of other channels and genres inside of this community that does things, and just because most of the popular communities gets bad rap, doesn’t mean the whole thing is shit.
Ironically, Jshlatt called this out a couple of months ago when he decided to start up a new satire smp, calling out that the server “has no pedophiles.” Before Jeffery fucking epstine joins.. XD
Tommy really was one of the few from the SMP to have gotten out of the drama-hell that was the Dream smp, with most of the members careers being impacted hard by that, besides well.. technoblade…
But while I’m bringing it up: technoblade really was a pillar for part of the Minecraft community, because he made the genre feel less for kids, and more for everyone, allowing both young, and old to be able to enjoy the genre through his content, jokes, and just personality.
Making the game for everyone, not just kids.
So with his passing, a lot of the development this community had started to unravel, and it went back to the way it was before; a game about blocks mostly for children, and with that, the normal degeneracies and warped ideals people will apply to it.
Even now, especially now, a lot of the quotes and references bother techno and the DSMP did from back then ring heavily throughout the whole genre, with a lot of those quotes ending up aptly describing what has happened, and what state most of the creators are in right now.

However, I believe the GeorgeNotFound controversy has been cleared since he made a statement regarding it and got alibis irl to help and many other youtubers were on his side, many suspect the youtuber who accused him was doing it for clout especially because she had a smaller channel and it's not unheard of to start controversies for clout.

Outside of Dream, and my goat Techno, Tommy is easily at the core of the newer Minecraft community (Saying its new is stupid because this has been the community for years now), and even though people do find him annoying, it’s crazy to me he’s one of the only ones who made it pass the great drama border.
Tommy, Philza, and Techno are always gonna put a wide smile on my face, even with people around them being exposed for horrid actions.

I think Hermitcraft and Empires SMP are completely different and are in my opinion 10x better than Dream’s Community. They seem fine and deserve all the recognition.

There are a lot more people in this community, which can make it SEEM like there are more creeps in it, but like in any large fambase there will always sadly be those that have bad intentions. That sucks since we have to look out for those bad few, that also tend to be the most vocal

Nah the Jschlatt one had me confused. Jschlatt is amazing because in the words of another user, hes all satire and that satire is literially the persona of just hating everyone. Jschlatt has also made it clear he isnt right leaning. Support he puts into left leaning things like trans people and other stuff is literally proof of it.

Before I start, I want to say I am neutral, I do not care for Wilbur or Shelby.
However, I hate how this Wilbur situation got out of hand. Everyone dropped Wilbur over something from his ex, clearly their relationship was toxic as Wilbur was given consent to biting and yet claimed to bruise Shelby. I get that the biting was hard but, if Shelby given consent to be bitten every day then I understand how it can hurt but not bruising.
I understand that everyone is against "abusive" people but, not one person stated that they spoke to Wilbur afterwards to understand the whole situation. And this is when I disagree with what Shelby says as it can be for revenge or jealously.
With Wilbur, yes his apology was not great and he admitting to bitting but also been given consent. If Shelby said she gave consent to be bitten everyday then she is clearly in the wrong as if she was asking for sex everyday and a normal guy would not refuse that. If Wilbur is abusive then where is the evidence? Pictures or video or even a arrest towards Wilbur.
This should of gone to court and not over the Internet as it is unfair to not hear both sides as this can be like the Johnny Depp court case where Amber Heard was in the wrong of accusing Depp for assault.
Yeah, I don't really go to Twitter, never followed up on those kinds of stuff but I can't escape it lmao. Wilbur did confirm that he was biting Shelby (even confirming about what he did to Niki a few years ago by telling her to confess live while playing it off as a joke) and saying how it was meant to be affectionate and stuff. Plus, Shelby kept repeating the safe word to Wilbur and him completely ignoring it. But I honestly don't know, those are just what I've read on Wilbur's "apology" and a clip of Wilbur and Niki.

However, this should not have gone public, it should gone to court if it was that bad. Because the internet is not a good place and people do suffer more if they are targeted by accusations that is one sided and not hearing the other side. One thing that is clear is that there was biting but, how hard and how consistent is the question. I feel for Wilbur as his career is gone and all of his friends turned against him without even asking if this was true so. And saying that Wilbur does deserve punishment for biting but not cancel culture like.
