My secret is in the hook. I use a 4/0 Gamakatsu Skip Gap hook. This hook greatly helps keep your bait rigged and running true and is sticky gammie sharp. Next time your out try it, trust me!
Love the in the shop videos. You’re one of the only pros that isn’t afraid to share super useful tips and secrets with us normal folks. The in depth details and instructions helps more than you can imagine, thanks Ike!
Facts! I find it funny that some pros refuse to share tips or tricks, like it’s going to effect their fishing. First off, it’s expensive to even attempt to be a pro angler. It’s not like giving out some of their knowledge is going to start some major uprising and suddenly there’s 100s of people turning pro to come take from their table. Anyway I appreciate the few that take the time to try and educate anglers and help grow the sport with the youth. These days kids have so many things that keep them from being outdoors, so it’s important to try and inspire them to get outside and fish, ruddy a bike, go hiking, canoeing etc
Ike love this mod! Will definitely have to try. I've been nose hooking my flukes for years but rather than hooking directly through the nose I like to take one of those same "hitch hikers" in the nose screwed all they way against the nose and place my hooked through the end of the "hitch hiker" I've found I loose far less flukes and it often slides up the line if a fish jumps rather than tearing put of the bait.
Will have to try this. I have killed the bass on Neko rigged flukes, especially D-Shads with a 1/16 or 1/32 oz nail weight in the head fished slowly in anywhere from 2-12 feet of water. For 2-7 feet, the 1/32 oz nail weight is best with the 1/16oz for 7-12 feet of water 😊Try it and let me know what you think
Thanks again Mike for another great tip. I can't wait to try this out. If you don't have super glue with you on the boat you can use a lighter. I keep one in my bag all the time. Just heat both sides of the split in the belly just till they start to melt they will fuse right together. BE CAREFUL THOUGH PLASTICS WILL BURN. Don't want burning plastic dripping in the boat.
Good Evening Mr. Mike Iaconelli Fishing, I ENJOYED your presentation of Bass fishing with Flukes (Must KNOW) Ike in the shop! This is DA BOMB! Very informative and Descriptive! I ENJOY ALL of Your Video's Mike, KEEP them BAD BOYS ROLL'n! LOL! Have a BLESSED and Wonderful "NEW Year with your Family my Friend, and as Always "Never Stop Fishing!" Sincerely, Mr. Carl J. Gwizdala aka "DESPERADO."
Ike, this one is gunna be a hit when I tell my Tarpon fishin buddies. Definitely will be a killer for snook and tarpon. I’d also say to take a 3rd screw lock and put it in the nose to run the hook through. You might lose some baits, but the action will change a lot I think.
I've though of many cool things but never thought of this. I like this one Mike. I am already thinking about different baits to do this to. Thanks for sharing this one.👊🏼
Mike, in another video you did on Fluke fishing you suggested a silver swivel with a 2-3 foot floro leader, 4/0 Extra Heavy EWG. I love that skipping tip and it works great. Would the swivel and leader part be of any value with this setup? I wish you would fish the MLF Pro Tour. The tips you give are great because of your personality. You add excitement and enthusiasm when you fish. Love the Intensity!!!!!! The MLF needs some spark!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ike, flukes love to get trashed . So grab another one of those spring locks, burry it in the nose and run your hook through the hole of the spring lock. Makes the bait last longer. Awesome idea pal on a deadly bait people rarely fish
Hi Mike! Love your channel loyal followers and watcher. I am also a huge fan of Bass U. Wondered if you might be able to give me some advice on rebuilding my tackle supply following the theft of my truck? Truck has been recovered but everything in it was taken. I am trying to rebuild on a budget because insurance is not covering the property inside the truck. Any advice you can give would be greatly appreciated!
Hey mike .. I'm mike to .... I also have a utube show ... check it out lol FISHING WITH MOTORCYCLE MIKE... IM ON THE SOUTH SHORE OF LONG ISLAND N Y ...

Just doing anything and everything I can to strengthen the sport! NEVER GIVE UP!
Super creative idea. This turns the Fluke into a hybrid glide bait.
Pretty much!
Like it try using a circle hook in open water, I use them when I wackey rig stick baits, don't have to worry about deep hooking fish
Thanx Mike! I’ve followed your advice on posts for many years and it’s always been on point. All the best for 2023!
Interesting, this is the first video ivf ever seen talking about it.

Ohhh I like this. I just watched you fishing with Jimy Houston. "Just completed a life dream, catching a bass behind Jimy". Lol killed me
I really like this modification, can hardly wait to fish it!
I was very reluctant to even watch this video but MAN am i impressed!! Thanks Mike. Tight lines.

You had me at wacky hook
Great tip and information on your video thanks and good fishing
No problem 👍
I add a 3rd screw lock in the nose making it a bit more durable
Fished this for a couple years
I was going to say the same thing. Only makes sense.
Yup
Yup, I'm surprised Ike didn't mention it. Tactical Bassing recommends twisting them completely into the nose where it's buried.
@@secretbassrigswhat a newb 😂
@@secretbassrigs I also like the Tactical Bassin recommendation for Neko rigged flukes 😉
I bought your book years ago. Lol, I read it all, from front to back. I enjoy your videos, bud. Thanks!
This technique looks 👌

Jointed chatterbait trailer. That would be bad a$$
Thanks!
Genius.
I like this one. I’m ready to slug a few with this mod. Thanks for the time boss! Happy Holidays to you and the fam.
Happy holidays!
Great info 👍.. I'll have to try this rig this season 🎣

you made a soft glider. Pretty cool

I'll save you 14:12 , cut a fluke in half, use 2 screw locks to create a hinge/joint and nose hook the bait.
Happy New Year!!!

Like that.. But how long before the hitch hiker pulls out / tares the bait. Are you using a med rod with light line?
👍
Do you have a video of this in the water to see what it looks like?
Will the tale end up in the fishes stomach after a strike?
Why not use a plain hook and if weight is needed. Add a nail weight?
How about judging buying zman razor shadz.
Looks like u be burning through a lot of them screw locks and Plastics by doing the setup...
Lol have fun cutting the wire guard with a knife
