i had a question, i posted it on one of you older videos as well thought might do the same in new video in a hope of answer my question was how the gotra is assigned to the people who embrace hinduism later in life like through say iskon , please be aware this question has no malicious intent , its just the thirst of curiosity i want to quench.
This is a very interesting question and I am more than happy to answer. We in ISKCON are not concerned what our gotra is because gotra signifies bodily connection. Our philosophy is - we are not this body, we are spirit soul, part and parcel of Krishna and we are His eternal servants. We try to elevate our consciousness from "I am Indian", "I am Swiss", "I am Marathi" "I am brahmana" and so on, to "I am spirit soul, eternal servant of Krishna". That is why we are against gotras, caste or any other designations 🙏🏻
