i think the little girl gave the best answer, probably much better answer than most adults would have : "She didnt push me, she helped me" very smart and eloquent child. i was very impressed with her attitude more than anything.
People seem to compare Piers and Simon a lot for being usually rude and harsh to less than good contestants. But a clear difference to me is that Simon knows when to use tact and a more subtle or laid back approach, while Piers is always terribly cold and unsensitive no matter who is being judged. It's not just about evaluating a performance... it's also about having the delicacy and perceptiveness to voice an opinion in an apprpriate way.
elitadream .... He's just an overstuffed shirt spewing his self righteous bag of hot air... ... A jackass on a soap box.. Simon has Actually Gotten Likable... See Wht a Good Woman Can Do 4 U 😉
I think the difference is Simon is nice to younger people like kids but I think he is meaner when it comes to appearance. He calls multiple people fat on American idol and says that people are ugly in other ways too. I just think he’s nicer to kids and will let it go sometimes
you can't blame the parents IN FRONT OF THE CHILD. you are attacking that child's relationship to her mother and her authority. do that when the child can't hear it.
KingsExecutor yes that’s absolutely true yeah it wasn’t has good but it was a good act tho but that’s no one way to 1) blame the parents and especially the mum infront of the kid 2) saying your gonna be nice when your not just sets a high levels and hopes so I honestly 100% agree with you
I appreciate Sharon's attitude, the judge was very arrogant without knowing the mother and her relationship with her daughter at all, he judged very quickly instead of judging the little girl's performance
“we don’t normally permit the parents to come out here but since you raised the mom as an issue on national Television she has the right to defend herself.”
Sharon didn't care to be hosting the X Factor or AGT anymore because she preferred a show where her co-hosts treat her special. Being the CENTER of Attention!
I don't blame Sharon at all for walking off...that was just awful what Piers said to the little girl. He had NO knowledge of the her personal life nor of her mother's, so he had no right making such HARSH speculations! And humiliate the poor little girl. That was extremely cold of him. It's not his million dollars that he's giving away!
To those people who said that Pierce was right then there is nothing wrong that he is right, but addressing it directly to a child, infront and on TV is just plainly not right. Even if he has evidence, he has no right to say what "bad things" mommy is doing infront of the child. I also see people here underestimating a child's thinking and decision skill capability.
They all say we have to treat the kids and adults the same way. So, basically u just said that you have to be all brutal with the kid and the mom, not acknowledging the fact that your fucking saying all this shit to the mom, while the kid is right fucking there to hear, and Piers, you would think just cause she's 9 means, oh I can say this and that knowing that isn't gonna harm her verbally. Bitch shut the fuck up, shes 9 anything can come out of her mouth, did you realize? And the fact that you might take it out of context is understandable. But u gotta think before ya say or do anything.
Although Simon is known for his brutal insults, I didn't find him being harsh on kids (correct me if I'm wrong). Simon Cowell could have a better less insulting comment.
One day, years ago, when my granddaughter got on her little bus to go to kindergarten, the bus driver stopped, stepped down the bus stairs, brake on, stopped me standing by the door, and said, "do you know what your little granddaughter said to me the other day?" I said no, what?" (Waiting for the worst) "She said,"When I grow up I want to be a doctor so I can heal my Grandma. "It made me cry." Still does. That is no different than what is happening on this pgm! And to degrade it, the love of a child, gives Sharon every right to walk off that stage. I wish I had money to do things extra for my granddaughter, like most all single grandparents, but I don't and she loves me just the same. Car working or not. Dishwasher falling out of a cabinet or not. Washer dancing for enjoyment, ect. Please allow family to care about the elderly & disabled. Again, we are family! We visit long-term care patients when we can. I am so thankful for children who love us this much! Of course this little girl wanted HER mother to have a car so they might get to school or get food, or the dentist! Don't help the system separate families, they're doing well enough on their own w/remarks like these. Good job Sharon!
I think that this kids ability - at NINE years of age - to stand up for herself AND her mom is a talent within itself. Most kids would be crying being put on the spot like that in front of millions of people and this beautiful child kept it together. I absolutely APPROVE of Sharon's DISAPPROVAL of the way Piers responded, but also believe walking off stage and throwing a fit was not the right choice.
What a lot of people don't seem to get is that this has nothing to do with whether Piers is right in that the girl should not be forced by her mother to preform, it's about the goddamn fucking talent. His job is not to parent her or her mother, his job is to decide if she is good enough to move onto the next round. That is it. Honestly, it is so easy to jump to the conclusion that the mother is forcing her to do this. This scenario could have easily been sparked by a million different circumstances. Piers just chose the obvious negative stereotype due to his foul mood. Sharon running off stage isn't justified either, you are a grown woman, get it the fuck together. You don't get to throw a tantrum and run off when something upsets you. You have a job to do. Do it.
I agree. It's about the talent. Therefore Piers had no reason to drag the little girls mother into the center ring. He should have commented on whether or not he liked her act and been done with it but since Piers is a complete asshole, he enjoys kicking a little girl while she's down by taking a shot at her mother. Whether what Piers said was true or not, it had no place on television where his job is to judge the contestants talent ONLY!
Xcorgi I'm still mystified as to how someone as talentless as Piers Morgan himself ever thought he was capable of judging the talents of others, but that's another story......
But Piers is right. What is a 9 year old child going to do with one million dollars? She doesn't even understand the concept of money at that age. Then when the old guy brought out Breeze's mom and said "She has the right to defend herself" that was fine. But then when Piers fought back the old hag accused him of putting them on trial. What the hell? Piers was not in the wrong. Everyone was overreacting, ESPECIALLY Sharon.
I agree with Piers 100%!!! That kid is still crapping her pants, how in the world can she be expected to make major decisions? It's obvious the mom is pushing her. It's pathetic to see a grown woman like Sharon throw so many temper tantrums.
OOOOOOOHHHHHH PIERS WAS DAM STRAIT THO EDIT: I agreed at first, but when the mum came out to defend herself I had to side with her. How dare he? Even if it's true, it's no right of his to judge whatsoever. Even when adults come out to compete, someone else might have pushed them, but you don't make an issue out of it. You don't make things personal. You just judge them on talent alone.
Even though he’s a jerk, Piers kinda taught Sharon a lesson in how brutally honest AGT judges have to be. And it seemed like after that whole situation Sharon understood the importance of judging
Good for Sharon .... they are there to judge the performance not a parent ...especially in front of a child that was so happy and now will remember that day in a neg way.....and quit possibly never audition or get on stage in front of judges again.....I do however think this was staged.Because the mother was talking about this situation before the judge...
First, I do think that the child was pushed by her stage mother. (Madame Rose!) But second, I think that Piers was wrong to insult them like that. He should have kept his opinion to himself, just told the child that she wasn't ready yet, then voted no.
This made me respect Piers a lot. I absolutely agree and think it's good that he voiced his opinion/ thought, he seemed genuinely worried. The girl didn't even look like she wanted to be there at all and he performance was weak. I think it's a case of a parent wanting to earn money of their kid (as Piers said) and that he was right to say it.
Am late lols,I don’t 100% disagree with what he said,I just don’t think he should have said it to this literal child in front of everyone,if he had a problem he should have raised it privately with the mother or perhaps the producers etc rather than embarrassing them in front of everyone
He told the truth but he was talking down to a little girl about her mother. If that was his concern, he should have said that to the mom. Not tell the 9 year old that. She's got no control over what her mother does, whether her mom pushed her into that or not.
If she felt an injustice was being done she should have stayed there and voiced her opinions and fought for them instead of modeling that kind of behavior in front of a child. The whole way the adults acted in this piece was incredibly offensive and made even Hasselhoff look sympathetic and mature. That in it of itself is another miracle!
Telling a little girl her mom pushed her to do something is wrong specially of you don't if that's true or not. I applaud the girl for mantaining her composure.
Even if you are right, you can say it in a way that makes you wrong. There is a little thing called tact, especially when dealing with a very impressionable young girl. Piers is sickening.
Sharon makes me so proud. Thank u. America has freedoms and she excersized one of the most important one that being the freedom of speech. Bravo Sharon.
I think if Sharon wasn't bound by contractual obligations she would have let him have it, and it would have made the tawdry vitriolic haranguing of the cute innocent young child pale in comparison. Sharon has always had a fair bit of respect from me- but she has brought that up to a whole new level here. The world needs a lot more people like her. and that's a fact Jack.
piers stated what he truthfully felt, regardless of whether or not it was harsh i think this is what a true judge should do its a competition for 1 million dollars for christs sake, if you dont have talent, dont try to use your cuteness or youthfulness to play the judges' hearts
I agree that Piers was a bit harsh but when it comes down to it; I gotta agree with him. The idea that a 9 year old little girl can make a decision “all by herself” is in and of itself ludicrous. That said, he couldn’t been a little more diplomatic about it at least publicly.
What was going on in most people's mind: "Omg, Piers... Don't say what we're all thinking... It's her mum's fault that she's her in the first place, but now that she's her, at least let her have her fun... C'mon..." What was going on in Sharon's mind: "OMG! THIS A GREAT MOMENT FOR ME TO MAKE A SCENE AND THROW ALL THE ATTENTION AT ME!!! I don't particularly know if me throwing a big scene would make the little girl feel any better, BUT WTF AM I EVEN THINKING ABOUT, THIS IS ALL ABOUT ME!!!!!"
I agree with Perce.... that little girl and her mother will be like the little girl pageants.... the little girl had no talent..she needs to pursue something else because one handed cartwheels are not going to take her far in life
"i would get mommy a new car",a young child like that would want things for herself,go to places like disney etc.for her to say a car for mommy. She also flubbed when she said mom didnt push her she helped her.Piers was right, notice how she was in deep thought,

I have enormous respect for Sharon Osborne for a ton of reasons.
She is a piece of shit !!!!
@@GabrielSC174 unlike u.
@blunt person. huh ?
She was very rude and abusive to her staff
I don’t like her

Also what in the world does Piers know about musical or dance talent
you can't blame the parents IN FRONT OF THE CHILD. you are attacking that child's relationship to her mother and her authority. do that when the child can't hear it.
KingsExecutor I agree. Piers is nasty.

The moment someone goes onstage in a talent show, the judges gain the right to judge.
+Jamie Campos Yes, the right to judge their performance, not their personal lives and decisions.
Which is exactly what he did
They all say we have to treat the kids and adults the same way. I agree. Simon is quite nice to the children. He's honest but he treats the kids well.
Absolutely. Morgan is just a total cock in all aspects.
Simon has a heart, Piers don't!

She didn't push me, she helped me! I love this little girl
Piers Morgan and Sharon Osbourne in the same place is never going to end well.
Piers stepped out of line, but Sharon was hilarious!

wtf is that jerry springer? lol theres so much going on
I know, I just seen him.
He hosted.
"Oh, gosh. We have to be honest, but we're giong to be nice. Piers?"
*Audience Laughs*
lol best part
I'M SCREAMING this is crazy
when the mom came out I was half expecting to hear the 'ding ding ding' fight sound from Jerry's show XD
Poor little girl, she didn't deserve that
You are amazing Sharon. Love and respect you and crazy train 👍😎
WOOO, go Sharon!
Hey....I know......Piers found out that the little girl's mother was an NRA member.....he just had to teach her a lesson
Even though he’s a jerk, Piers kinda taught Sharon a lesson in how brutally honest AGT judges have to be. And it seemed like after that whole situation Sharon understood the importance of judging

Just gotta love Sharon!!! I don't think I know of any person with more backbone than her! She's bloddy amazing!!!!
i found this hilarious.

piers is by far right, even though its a little girl but Sharon leaves all the shows shes on anyway
I always love Sharon! She is the best
Totally respect her for standing up for what she believed in. How dare they incriminate an innocent child as well as her mother.
AMERICAS GOT HASSLHOFF LOOOOL
Piers told the truth there
He told the truth but he was talking down to a little girl about her mother. If that was his concern, he should have said that to the mom. Not tell the 9 year old that. She's got no control over what her mother does, whether her mom pushed her into that or not.

4:08 this is me whenever someone does something I don’t like 😂😂
Am I the only one who thinks Piers was right?
I do
Nope. He should have left said it's her mom that wants the million dollars and the new car.
Sidetracked no
Piers was right
Telling a little girl her mom pushed her to do something is wrong specially of you don't if that's true or not. I applaud the girl for mantaining her composure.
42000th viewer! :D I've been looking for this video, thnx!
Even if you are right, you can say it in a way that makes you wrong. There is a little thing called tact, especially when dealing with a very impressionable young girl. Piers is sickening.
my right ear laughed.
XD Jerry Springer show ! I love it
This reminds me of when Howard Stern made that Little Kid cry on this show.Piers Morgan is the British Equivalent to Howard Stern.
Thom Phil brothers from another mother they are...
He's more like Bill O Reilly than Howard Stern
Sharron reminds me of my grandma...Miss her
Wow. Breeze got the short end of the stick from the judges... She was really good!
That must've given Jerry Springer wondrous flashbacks to his own show.
"I'VE HAD IT!!"
That’s mad how piers said that oooooooh 😂😂😂
Yeah, that's what I was thinking all along, too!
Sharon makes me so proud. Thank u. America has freedoms and she excersized one of the most important one that being the freedom of speech. Bravo Sharon.
he's so right ! that mom pushing her kid and everything is about her . amazing he said all that - all that is true
WELL THIS IS CALLED "AMERICA'S GOT HASSELHOFF"
-I LOVE YOU!!!!!!!
The mum was doing the moves so piers was right!
that's like the 10th time she stormed off of anything
I think hes right and im glad he said it.
I think if Sharon wasn't bound by contractual obligations she would have let him have it, and it would have made the tawdry vitriolic haranguing of the cute innocent young child pale in comparison.
Sharon has always had a fair bit of respect from me- but she has brought that up to a whole new level here. The world needs a lot more people like her. and that's a fact Jack.
piers stated what he truthfully felt, regardless of whether or not it was harsh
i think this is what a true judge should do
its a competition for 1 million dollars for christs sake, if you dont have talent, dont try to use your cuteness or youthfulness to play the judges' hearts
"Recorded with a potato?" Yes. Yes, it was.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
I agree that Piers was a bit harsh but when it comes down to it; I gotta agree with him. The idea that a 9 year old little girl can make a decision “all by herself” is in and of itself ludicrous.
That said, he couldn’t been a little more diplomatic about it at least publicly.
Yes they can but the mom shouldve signed her in a contest that doesnt include being recorded and put on the TV.
Jerry handled the situation perfectly
16 years later with still no part 2 😢
People don't keep in mind that it is not a cutest competition or personality competition
Every time Sharon disagrees with someone, she walks out. No compromise, it's her way or no way.
OMG this is so funny! This is why I adore that sharon so much. She Deffo brings drama to any show she's on!
This is the kind of drama you get when you let Jerry Springer host lol
Lol love Sharon
Piers - ridiculously rude behavior toward the mother - and child! No class.
Guys... this was 10 years ago. I was 6 when this came out. Weird.
What was going on in most people's mind:
"Omg, Piers... Don't say what we're all thinking... It's her mum's fault that she's her in the first place, but now that she's her, at least let her have her fun... C'mon..."
What was going on in Sharon's mind:
"OMG!
I agree with Perce.... that little girl and her mother will be like the little girl pageants.... the little girl had no talent..she needs to pursue something else because one handed cartwheels are not going to take her far in life
She says. I've Had it!
3:05 *Guy in the crowd* YEAAAHHHHH!!
Piers was being so blatantly honest, he's a good guy. But he forgot that he was talking to a nine years old girl.
This isn't a talent show. Lol. I love you, Sharon.
There should be a minimum age limit on these shows. No child need this kind of exposure.
What year was this
Wow, I don't think i've ever seen Sharon so pissed. She's usually joking, smiling and laughing. It's weird seeing her so pissed.
Regardless of what you think of Jerry Springer, what he did here was classy & he earned my respect.
What year was this?
"i would get mommy a new car",a young child like that would want things for herself,go to places like disney etc.for her to say a car for mommy. She also flubbed when she said mom didnt push her she helped her.Piers was right, notice how she was in deep thought,
holy shit is that jerry springer? he just popped out of no where.
That guy is a massive pain in the ass of the cosmos.
How could he say that to a 9 year old.
Its just completely heartless and cruel
He’s not wrong. You could honestly tell. 100% backing Piers
I worked for a fund-raising beauty pageant that was supposed to be "just for fun" and to raise money. These mothers take things too far and these broads get vicious with their children!
the girls standing there going "wtf is happening.... i think im gonna be shot"
whaaaaaaaaaat she did good
For a little kid she took that very well though. Asserted herself too. Most kids end up crying with negative criticism.
i agree with piers it's true some moms try to live there lives thru there kids like this lady and all the lady's on that tiara show
As people say, America can keep Piers Morgan. We dont want him back here in Britain
haha i'd watch america's got hasselhoff!!!no doubt..that would be amazing
Sharon started something so big, her hair fucking blocked it.
