A really cool, Super RARE, 1974 Made in Japan Ibanez Model 2342 Deluxe 59'er Ivory Sunlight Special Les Paul Style guitar. These guitars were way ahead of their time and of course directed their sales efforts to the Gibson Players that couldn’t afford a real Les Paul. They did a great job…wonderful guitars! Includes the shown Original Hard Shell Case!
This is the last of the Ibanez Open Book Headstocks. These had the old Ibanez Logo's. The serial number on the pickups dates it to August of 1974. See pics 7 and 8. These guitars were only made from 1975 thru 1977 so this has to be a very early 1975 first year model.
The guitar is far from being a closet classic. This guitar was played, and played a lot. It has lots of dings and scratches but all player wear. No cracks on the body or the beautiful Maple Neck. It's all original but the knobs. When we got it, it had terrible black non original knobs. The guitar would have had Gibson style White dome knobs. We didn't have any but these Gibson Style White knobs look correct and also, look great
This Ivory 59'er is really cool looking... The Chrome hardware is pitting some where you would expect but really in pretty good shape for 46 yrs old. But the knobs, it's all original. Nothing messed with under the hood and the truss rod had plenty of room to work with. The action is set very very low and almost plays itself. Plenty of room yet to even lower it should it be required and of course plenty of room to raise it. We put a new set of 10's on it
This beauty has two original Maxon Super 70’s Humbuckers that sound amazing. Very raw and powerful. The pickups are huge sounding. Awesome Original Pickups that are thick and very musical!
The guitar has the original Custom truss rod cover, nut, Ibanez Starshine Tuners, bridge, pickup surrounds, strap buttons, neck plate and back covers. Some plastic missing on the back cover but it still works as it should. Check those pics!
The guitar has a Rock Maple neck that feels great! We had it Professionally setup with new 10’s and it has great awesome low playing action that very easy on the fingers.
The body on this custom is 40 inches long and the width is 13 inches wide at the lower bout... The nut measures 1 3/4inch...it has a 24 3/4 inch scale neck... it weighs 8 lbs 7 ozs. Not too heavy for a Les Paul style guitar.... normal dings and scratches you would expect for a guitar that's 46 years old...but looks great!
Check out the Original Hard Shell case! Hard to believe it has survived. We got all the stickers off of it..You can see the outlines. All the latches, hinges, neck restraint strap, accessory box and even the original handle are still with it and operating as it should. This case is awesome to have with this cool Ibanez guitar!

I recently sold my Antoria branded version of this built in the same ibanez factory. They had excellent necks on all that era guitars.

I have a 75 bolt on neck custom sunburst. I put gibson 57 in the neck,and 498t in the bridge. It sounds fantastic. The DiMarzio PAF pro in the neck and a super distortion in the bridge is also just killer. It sits with my Gibsons with no inferiority complex. It's even maybe a little more special because there are not a lot of these and those that have them don't want to sell them.
