  • Welcome to this English class about phrasal verbs that you can use at work. We use phrasal verbs in English all the time, and we use them a lot during the work day when we are doing our jobs. I don't think I can stress enough the importance of knowing phrasal verbs. All of the phrasal verbs in this lesson are quite common, and we use them all the time. Even if you don't use them in your own English conversations, you'll want to know their meanings if you read them or hear them.
🌻🌼💐 Jen has a UA-cam channel too! Come and see: • #2 Snow on the Flower ...
In this English lesson you'll learn phrasal verbs like: to follow through, to slack off, to deal with something , to look after something, to wrap up, to reach out to, to fill in for, to run something by someone, to fall behind, to catch up and more!
No matter what job you do, I hope you enjoy this English lesson about phrasal verbs you can use at work! Have a great day!
⌛ Remember: Always watch the video three times. Twice today with English subtitles on, and once tomorrow with the English subtitles off. This will reinforce the English you have learned!

Hello , Sir Bob, we know that many countries in the world live in extreme poverty, with the governors, we know that we cannot count on them, because most of the time, they seek their own interests, many people are volunteers, I believe that being a volunteer is one of the meanings of life.

Funny thing you say. I just pointed out to my daughter.
" Hey, your summer vacay is almost over. Did you get your homework done?"
"I'm falling behind. I gotta catch up!"
"I can't look after it cuz you have to deal with it all by yourself. Don't slack off anymore."
"I'm not a slacker. I wish I could have someone to fill in for me."
Please make this type of videos. Thanks 😄👏✨

Big thanks, Bob! Especially for the "rub smth by someone". It caught my ear😎 as I couldn't find a one-word equivalent in my mother tongue. I guess," fall behind" and "lag behind" are interchangeable, aren't they? Hope, you're ready for the new school year, refreshed and energetic 😎💪🤝

Bob didn't look for anyone to fill in for him and make this video, because Bob had a suspicion that that person might be slacking off. So he looked after this video himself and followed it through. As a result, he hit it out of the roof, and I have to point out that he hasn't fallen behind other teachers, so he doesn't need to catch up. As he is his own boss, he doesn't need to run anything by anyone.

Hi, Bob, thank you so much for your lessons, they help me a lot ! It has been a couple of weeks since I started learning english and with the help of your videos I think I'm doing well. Recently, I'm following your suggestion to read news everyday to improve my vocabulary as well as catching up with the latest info, but I find it's a little hard for me to read news posted by "Big Newspapers" such as BBC, NBC, NY times and Washington Post (because of my poor vocabulary). So, I wonder if you could recommend some easy-to-read news websites or platforms for beginner? And just as a question, in Canada, for normal people, what website or platform do they usually read news on? Looking forward to response , Thanks ! Have a nice day!

During the meething, I point out a potential issue that few employees start slacking off on their job and our progress already fell behind the timeline since last week. and I said that I hope those people who are slacking off should find a way to deal with the problem of themselves and try your best to catch up the timeline. No one can fill in for you by you slacking yourself. I will look after everyone's performance for the rest days. after we wrap the projects up, if I find someone who follow though with their job, I would reach out and run a rewards program by our boss.
Thanks my teacher Bob. I hope someone can correct my comment if Im wrong.

Hi, I hope you don't mind me saying this ...Slack off isn't nice like you said. But sometimes it's used in a good way.
Like ... "I wish I could slack off and watch TV ."
When I saw this thumbnail, I thought Bob had been working very hard in this summer. So he is wishing that he relaxes and forgets bustling and hustling. If we use this phrase verb like this, it sounds like good .cuz that indicates he is very diligent worker.😊 I know, you're very diligent student and worker. So, I'm assuming that you wish you could slack off and veg out.😁 So do I.😂 Sorry for butter in. Thanks.

Thanks for pointing this out, Noriko. I'll keep that in mind and put it in my notes too. I can only agree with you, Bob has been working a lot this summer; On his farm, for his family and of course for us. He always deserves to take some time to relax.
You know, you don't have to apologize, Noriko 🤗. Thanks for the kind words and reply, I always try to be a diligent student 😅. And yes, sometimes I wish to slack off and veg out. I wish you a wonderful day. 🌸🪷🏯

@@Know-that It is nice of you saying like that. We're always nervous when we leave a comment. What if I give that person a wrong idea and makes their feelings bad ... But I'm glad that you took my 2 cents in a positive way. Have a nice day, YOU too 😃🌻🍀

Two of my colleages like to fall behind because they know that if they cannot finish the task on time, the boss will not assign any job duties to them. They can receive salaries without working hard.
