Loved the competition. Now let's do the fairway metals and then the hybrids. It's gunna be a long hibernation period and you guys are keeping us sane lol. Thanks boys.
We are on week 3 of lock down here in NorCal and was told we have another 4 weeks coming. Your content and this series really does provide a great distraction, and source of information. Truly appreciated guys. Keep these series coming.
Great series of videos, can't wait for outdoor feedback. 1.There is more of a wrist set at the top of swing now. (A little Rahm/ Sergio lag) 2. Mavrik, distance aside, always appeared to curve less. 3. Can hot melt be removed
I knew it was gonna be some long balls after his first swing. Cheer guys. Keep it up. Love watching it on a hole compared to a driving range. Good idea. Congrats.
All hail King Freaky Deaky!! I think that warrants a new emoji! Keep up the good work guys! Thanks for helping to keep us all entertained during these crazy times!!
I bought a Mavrik SZ 3 wood this year and I can say that's probably the hottest 3 wood I ever hit, so im not surprised that the driver is also very hot and very good. On top of that, Matt was really bringing it in the finals. Good job guys 👍
Amazing how different clubs work well for different golfers. MGS Most Wanted had the MAVRIK close to the bottom of their 2020 list. Again, absolutely great content. Stay healthy out there!
Outrageous performance from Matt and Mavereecky! Boys thanks for injecting a bit of fun into our lives at the moment- we all sure need it. Hats off. Still keen to test SIM for myself as the 56 deg lie appeals to my big left miss 🤪
Thanks to you two! Your videos confirmed my decision to trade-in my Epic Flash SZ for the Mavrik standard. I further optimized my Mavrik with the HZRDUS Black 62 shaft and Titleist AVX/ProV1X Left dash to reduce my spin. Your videos help me and others make logical decisions with our golf equipment!
Incredible results. Omg 361 yards. Wow. And you feel it’s not fully optimized. I looked forward to this as much as an NBA Finals game 7 lol. Keep up the FANTASTIC work.
Loved this bracket. Thanks for keeping us informed, educated, and entertained. Can’t wait to come into txg for my fitting. Was booked in April 2nd. Hmmmm. Will have to be patient. Need my apex pro shafted!!! Keep safe.
From one lefty to another...DAMN!!!! We now need a Matty imitation contest and who can get close to that ball speed with a 3/4 length back swing. It’s all in the hips I guess. Truly amazing to watch you swing that fast and stay balanced. I didn’t love Mavrik in my fitting recently. Ping G410plus with Oban Devotion 75x was the ideal combo. Love it. Keep’em coming. All I can do is watch dust accumulate on the sticks.
Another great series guys! The new evaluation format seems to have influenced the match-up's somewhat ... looks like every match-up winner had the higher total yards AND lower average offline yards, but offline yards provided a way to tie-break a close match-up. In a couple of cases one club may have had a higher ballspeed, but the other had more optimal (for DirtyDog) launch and spin.
There is the ridge out there - just to the right of center a bit after the bunker - and a few of those Mavrik shots were just long enough and had just the right draw as a lefty to lay into that ridge and get thrown an extra 20 yards in some cases - unreal
I play a 8* SLDR turned down to 6*, similar SS to Matty boi just a bit more aggressive. Had my head set on the sim cause it's 8* and can turn it down to 6* but now u got me questioning my thinking. Can't get fit cause of the lock down here in Western Australia and have to purchase before July so will be watching the optimisation with great interest. Great stuff boyz, luv ya work!!!!!
Matty's come a long way since those first videos with the xtra long swing. (same for TXG video quality, delivery) What a great driver of the golf ball.
Said it earlier in the bracket but that longer backswing just looks so good, even seeing some shaft lean at the top of the backswing 😍 really wanted Speedzone to pull it out of the bag but was always going to be a one sided fight 😂
Best golf channel on YT and bracket even better this year! Love that Mavrik won, feel Callaway has the best recipe on Drivers and woods at the latest years, especially on yardage. But combining that with less offline seems to be a killer.
Great contest. Always enjoy the driver brackets. Thanks for the content. Hope the TXG family is safe and well. Loved it when you said good miss and Matt hit it 321, wish I could miss it like that.
Definitely going to test the Maverick once everything settles down. Not that I can come anywhere near Matt’s swings but very curious as to what I can do with it.
Awesome video!! Can you please make a Video with the before and after of the hotmelt? Want to see hot much difference it makes. Sad to not see the SiM but still good result.
I found a good deal on a Mavrik 9º head and got it for myself for my birthday. Only a few rounds in, but I can confirm it is long and forgiving. Like...Ping forgiving. Seriously. I was struck by how little curvature Matt's shots seemed to have with the Mavrik, and I've noticed the same thing with it... albeit 100 yards shorter than Matt's drives. Pull hooks just don't pull that far or hook as much. When I come over the top on one it usually hangs on and finishes in play to the right (usually). And FAR less drop-off in distance when I lose one left or right, compared to Epic Flash. With a good center strike, they're pretty much the same - maybe a touch longer. I'm very impressed so far. Golf courses are still open here in Tennessee, and I'm going to play (safely) as long as I can! Thanks for the great content and I'm donating right now to the WHO.
The only disappointment I have is that it is over. This was INCREDIBLY fun to watch!! What a bracket! What an outcome! (Spoiler free commenting, for the people) This was just great. Thanks so much for another amazing competition! Here’s to 2021!! Cheers 🍻
Thanks for the video shout-out love Ian! TXG is a light in the darkness. Put the new head through the custom shop Matty...my Epic Flash Sub-Zero has a sweet deep red/black paint job and is a head turner! Can't wait to see the optimization video ya Dirty Dog! 🤣🤣🙌🙌🙌
Mavrik killed it!! Would love to see a video of the proper fitting for the Mavrik to see what shaft Matt ends up going with and the reason for it... keep the videos coming guys they're helping me get through the lockdown here in Glasgow, Scotland!!
Awesome stuff guys! Would love to see this bracket done with a more human-like swing speed. My clubhead speed tops out at about 110mph and I’d love to see how these clubs perform in that range.
Looking forward to seeing the Mavrik get dialed in. It definitely distinguished itself just a notch above the rest. Visually, watching on a course vs range was a nice improvement to the video's.
Definitely agree with the request for a final comparison between the optimized Mavrick vs the Ping. This may have been asked or answered and I haven’t seen the response, but is there a breakdown of each club on how many strokes, after warmup, to produce the 10 fairway shots? I was trying to follow the shot counter to get this in order to look at another metric.
Loved the series... It is fun to see them going head to head. Nice touch this year with fitting them beforehand to get them optimized for Matt. I think next bracket sound be for Ian! Great job guys!
I never buy new clubs but after testing the Mavrik when it first came out, I knew I had to have it. Played a few rounds with it before the "lockdown" and its performance is stunning. Long and straight!
I recently sold it to a friend. Still love it but I started gaming Epic Flash Star (ultralight clubs) for all my long clubs. I’m getting about 20yds more from it. More spray with the lighter clubs but they suit my swing better. I’d still recommend Mavrik. My friend is hitting it straighter and longer than his old club, so we’re all happy.
OMG!! Matt bombs the Mavrik In the 350's mostly and Ian says they can get more out of it with a different shaft!!! .. Scary for the foursome who will be in front of him this summer!!! FORE!!!!!!! Love your videos and this Driver challenge was a relief from what we are experiencing with the virus... Thanks Guys!!
Following "Stay at Home" instructions, I've watched some old golf tournaments. One was the Shell match play between Sam Snead and Ben Hogan. These guys played persimmon woods and (I think) balata covered balls (with liquid centers?). They were driving 250-265 yards. The course was Houston CC, and their second shots on par 4's were 6 or 7 irons. What a difference 60 years makes. Do you have a persimmon driver Matt or Ian can hit with today's balls to compare to today's drivers???
Question on lead tape(For Driver heads less than 200g that you may try to bump up): If you were to put lead tape (Say 4 - 10g) low and away from the face on the bottom would you notice the driver having an increased MOI/Spin/Launch due to more mass further back from the face? Vice versa - Could you put lead tape on the top crown of the driver & close to the face to move its center of mass to be higher & more forward to reduce spin/launch?
Awesome video! You're making me want to trade my Rogue SZ in for one of these! Also, cool to hear it's playing at 44" and change. I'm playing mine at 44 and its let me find the middle do much more often.
I always wondered about if they could put the back weight higher up off ground more, thinking it might keep spin lower and callaway have done it I'm just not prepared to trade my rogue sub in and not playing as much
I play a ping G410 and I really like the look of the SIM and thats what I wanted but now I'm gonna try the MAVRIK because I want to make sure all my options are open. thanks gents...that was fun!
Not surprised by the results. I play the F9 driver and its really good for me. But recently demoed the new Sz & Sz Xtreme, not much difference. Then demoed Pxg Gen 2, Sim and Mavrik...Mavrik for me was basically 15 yds further on that particular day and straighter too. Everything just fit me well that day, gonna give it a go again soon.
Knew it was going to be MAVRIK!! Great bracket guys !! Obviously this is HIS best driver /shaft setup. Without an actual fitting which I’ll be doing over the summer, Is The MAVRIK Head the best for me a 2.4 handicap with a 102 -104 mph driver club head speed with a smooth tempo, AOA about + 3-4 degrees
That was fun. Best content even on the rough times. Thanks a lot. Idea: it would be juicy to measure differences of distances depending on slope. Matty (machine) boy: what a show!.
informed, educated, and entertained. Can’t wait to come into txg for my fitting. Was booked in April 2nd. Hmmmm. Will have to be patient. Need my apex pro shafted!!! Keep safe.
I'd love to see you guys find a way to get some toe weight in that Callaway, maybe hot melt or something. I still think that toe weighted PING was so good for Matt's miss and i'd hate to see him give up that protection for more distance and lower spin. Look forward to the optimizing!
Could just be the lighting on the different color shafts, but it did look like the Cobra shaft really loaded up more up at the top of the swing, and the Ventus in the Mavrik stayed more "flat" without as much loading. I've found a shaft that has more loading/whip feel seems to get better timing and feel in my head, while the shaft that stays "flatter" during the swing really adds distance to my drive. I have similar swing speeds and launch conditions as Matt does

I'm in!
I’m in also. Note here is site to donate: donate.google.com/give/covid-19
After optimizing the winner would love to see a head to head w his current G410 to see the gains!
I second this opinion!
Great idea
3rd this even if just for fun do it!!!
Exactly what I was thinking as I watched this final bracket. Great idea!
Yes pls
298 carry ... 321 total
Ian, "Reasonable one"
Matty, "A good miss"
I fantasize about having your "reasonable miss"
Loved the competition. Now let's do the fairway metals and then the hybrids. It's gunna be a long hibernation period and you guys are keeping us sane lol. Thanks boys.
Sounds like a great idea
TXG, whatever you do, don’t ever trade Matty away!
You do the most exhaustive and objective tests of all the youtube channels talking about golf. Good work! And thanks!
Your new swing stole the show. That second round with both drivers was soo good. Thanks for showing and sharing!
We are on week 3 of lock down here in NorCal and was told we have another 4 weeks coming. Your content and this series really does provide a great distraction, and source of information. Truly appreciated guys. Keep these series coming.
You go back to the early stages of Matt's swing and it's changed so so much. Well done guys. Great video again.
It’s not even close. Hands down, you guys make the best content on UA-cam for gear nerds like myself!
Great series of videos, can't wait for outdoor feedback.
1.There is more of a wrist set at the top of swing now. (A little Rahm/ Sergio lag)
2. Mavrik, distance aside, always appeared to curve less.
3. Can hot melt be removed
Great content as always. Ridiculous performance by Marty and Mavrik. Keep the videos coming during these trying times boys, it’s much appreciated.
The whole series of testing these drivers has been great to watch. Great job!!
Great to see Matt's swing changes have taken hold. 350 yards averaging 7.5 offline is off the charts good.
Fantastic stuff. Thank you guys. Have lived my golf life through you these past few weeks.
Love that intro with the driver heads
Wow, two great products. Mavrik won in spades and it's not even fully customised for Matt. Great great fun👍
I love how much fun you were having fun with this test, especially during times like these. Great series! 👏👏👏
Great suggestion, Freaky Deaky emoji is a Must have!
SIM is a great driver for that, especially with the weight in the toe
One of the best golf UA-cam contents of the year!! Love it boys. Mavrik...savage beast.
What a series! Left me completely speechless apart from two words:
Freaky Deaky.
Fabulous video. Great victory for the Mavrik. Will test it against my Rogue SZ when COVID-19 dies down......
Loved this bracket. Thanks for keeping us informed, educated, and entertained. Can’t wait to come into txg for my fitting. Was booked in April 2nd. Hmmmm. Will have to be patient. Need my apex pro shafted!!! Keep safe.
“Slightly miss......345”. I’d love to have that problem. Great series, guys......totally enjoyed it.
From one lefty to another...DAMN!!!! We now need a Matty imitation contest and who can get close to that ball speed with a 3/4 length back swing. It’s all in the hips I guess. Great series lads. Look foward to the next one. Cant image that even you guys can improve on that much. 👍
Amazing... so great to watch. Bought one last week... just need to get out on the track to have a hit. Thanks lads.

Good for you guys ,,,, you guys seem like good honest people so all the best with your following ,,,, you deserve it!!!! Great job
Wow so impressive!! Great show Ian and Matt!!! Love watching, been watching since the beginning keep the great content coming!!!
Said it earlier in the bracket but that longer backswing just looks so good, even seeing some shaft lean at the top of the backswing 😍 really wanted Speedzone to pull it out of the bag but was always going to be a one sided fight 😂
I hit the 250 yard marker at the range tonight after watching your content on drivers. Cheers!
Awesome to get some great content during all this mess. Thank you very much for the effort you guys put into this. 👍
TXG never disappoints!! Great work gents!!
The competition was so much fun and definitely needed. Thanks guys.
Definitely going to test the Maverick once everything settles down. Not that I can come anywhere near Matt’s swings but very curious as to what I can do with it.
Great Bracket this year guys. Let's see 2019 winner vs 2020 winner. Both optimised!!!
Awesome video!! Can you please make a Video with the before and after of the hotmelt? Want to see hot much difference it makes.
Sad to not see the SiM but still good result.
Great job TXG team for another fun series of videos! Been following TX for some time, will need to join the team!
Great series guys!! Really fun and enjoyable.
Love the bracket tests and would love to see 2021 driver and iron brackets with RH Mattie boy so it's more relatable for us mortals.
I found a good deal on a Mavrik 9º head and got it for myself for my birthday. Only a few rounds in, but I can confirm it is long and forgiving. Like...Ping forgiving. Seriously. What a series boys! Well done! Thanks so much for keeping us all entertained
Great set of vids! Loved them all, thank you 🙏
Mavrik killed it!! Would love to see a video of the proper fitting for the Mavrik to see what shaft Matt ends up going with and the reason for it... keep the videos coming guys they're helping me get through the lockdown here in Glasgow, Scotland!!
The opening shot was framed beautifully. Just need a light meter chaps. Helps gauging over exposure and makes it look pro like the rest of your shots.
Thoroughly enjoyed this series, now bracket the rest of the bag.
Well what a surprise not the Cobra tried its best but it was good fun for all who subscribe to your channel waiting for the optimisation. 👍
One hell of a bracket men. Thank you for bringing it to us. Keep up the excellent work.
Fun stuff guys, love the visual of seeing Matt hit it long. Thanks.
Fascinating to follow the process. Really looking forward to seeing you optimise the Mavrik.
Definitely agree with the request for a final comparison between the optimized Mavrick vs the Ping. Great series. Looking forward to Mavrik Freaky Deaky vs Super Freaky Deaky or Freaky Deaky on steroids
Maverick is such a beast. Looking forward to seeing it optimized. Also, it sounds so good.
Superb series.... look forward to seeing the Mavrick optimised! 🔥. also agree with another comment to see one last duel 🤺 with the Ping 👌🏻
Loved the series... It is fun to see them going head to head. Nice touch this year with fitting them beforehand to get them optimized for Matt. I think next bracket sound be for Ian!
Great job guys!
Wow wow wow great to watch during lock down keep it up boys 👍👍👍
This was a great job, great video production, and insightful. Appreciate the effort. Stay safe, brothers!
I never buy new clubs but after testing the Mavrik when it first came out, I knew I had to have it. Played a few rounds with it before the "lockdown" and its performance is stunning. Long and straight!
How are you liking it a year later ?
I recently sold it to a friend. Still love it but I started gaming Epic Flash Star (ultralight clubs) for all my long clubs. I’m getting about 20yds more from it. More spray with the lighter clubs but they suit my swing better. I’d still recommend Mavrik. My friend is hitting it straighter and longer than his old club, so we’re all happy.
Looking forward to you guy's optimizing the Mavrik to see just how far you can take it...Thanks
OMG!! Matt bombs the Mavrik In the 350's mostly and Ian says they can get more out of it with a different shaft!!! .. Scary for the foursome who will be in front of him this summer!!! FORE!!!!!!! Great Job guys and Matt good God those are massive hits! Good luck with the new driver and I am a left if your Ping LST is now on sale?
Just got my new Mavrik sub zero yesterday, now just gotta wait for the darn golf courses to open.
love the intro. can't wait to see the full fit video for Matty and freaky deaky
Making lockdown so much better. Keep them coming and stay safe guys.
Awesome video! You're making me want to trade my Rogue SZ in for one of these! Also, cool to hear it's playing at 44" and change. I'm playing mine at 44 and its let me find the middle do much more often.
Never seen matt hit soo many consistent 350y+ fairway shots...even if mavrik doesn't win it's still performed awesomely
I always wondered about if they could put the back weight higher up off ground more, thinking it might keep spin lower and callaway have done it I'm just not prepared to trade my rogue sub in and not playing as much
What a final! Great swinging Matty. Look forward to your optimisation. Good work chaps.... 👏🏻👏🏻💪💪
I would be interested to see a competition between either all optimized drivers or all stock drivers... All in all, great job guys, love the content
Would love to see you guys do a similar test but for irons!
I play a ping G410 and I really like the look of the SIM and thats what I wanted but now I'm gonna try the MAVRIK because I want to make sure all my options are open. thanks gents...that was fun!
just bought a maverick. so excited to take this out on the course!
Sad it's over, but GLAD IT HAPPENED!!! Great video series gents, keep doing what you do fellas.
A lot of fun, Thanks for video guys. Good luck with your new driver.
Thank you for your work guys. How about a 3 Wood bracket? Would the top performers be different?
