Good of you to share your experience. It's the value trap.. or at least the perception of value, to a value investor.
Dollar cost averaging can get very expensive!

Stop losses are so important in my investing especially with non blue chip stocks. 30% capital loss is my usual sell point. Everytime I have not done so I have regretted it. Held the bag once or twice😢.
I did not sell down on the way up with Sezzle - another lesson learnt. Went from a massive profit to a 30% stop loss.

I usually try and buy cheap or find undervalued stocks and dont add too or go all in unless the stock is trading at a multi year lows has served me well so far, if you buy in and the stock goes down 30% and it is still not a good buy at that price then your buy price to begin with was probably too high.
I have had plenty of stocks down 30% or more that I sold for a good profit because they were very much undervalued when they went down.

@@chrisbrown-jw4ce Hi Chris. I mean 30% drop from my buy-in price. ie 30% capital loss. If I buy in low and it rises and then drops 30% no problem. It is if it is 30% less than I bought it for. In the recent past I took a 30% loss on a stock (I certainly bought at the wrong price) and put that money into afterpay and made a large profit. 30% losses is pretty common for me on stocks. My annual profits are always greater than my losses so I don’t mind the odd loss here and there. Can’t win all the time.

good video and EML was a horrible looking chart for a long time, like many shares the price drops to the point of being very much undervalued and then even the smallest positive news is enough to get investors excited even if just for a short period of time, Appen likewyse is probably undervalued and morning star has it trading at a 50% discount no doubt the herd will flock in when there is good news.

      FYI
Appen is a company nobody needs.
I am only waiting for the company announcing bankruptcy and being delisted.
There is absolutely no innovation in this company. No innovation, no future. Simple as that.
Furthermore, as interest rates have increased dramatically, companies with high debt are having a bad time.
