Connors parents seem like the most stereotypical British TV parents and I love it. Like I feel like Connors mom would say hello pickle like in Shawn of the dead
In Italy we have the Frecciarossa that goes about as fast as the Shinkansen, but not nearly as effective.
There is hard cider in Nagahama in Shiga
That's so cute
Connor's parents interacting with chat was so wholesome.
As an American, I'm envious of any country where you have literally any travel option other than driving, let alone high speed rail.
Lol but California alone is as big as Japan and we can’t spend money on public transportation when we have to prevent aliens from destroying the world 🌍. Who needs a train
Yep, we can thank our past Americans for letting lobbying of the automobile industry create literally all of our infrastructure for cars.
What? I’m American and I don’t own a car. I live in Philadelphia and I walk, bus, or take the subway. There are many cities in the US where you don’t need a car.
@@EricaInTokyo No, there aren't. Philly is a rare breed. Most of the US has been bulldozed to serve the car.
@@gabetalks9275there is more forested land in America than there is land in Germany and France so yeah
Germany's Deutsche Bahn build a highspeed rail connection between Berlin and Munich which was supposed to shorten a 4 hour train ride to like 2.5hours but due to some scheduling error the trains just has a 1.5 hour delay every time.
German Engineering at its finest
Mrs. VA is always such a lovely soul whenever we see her. I hope they enjoyed their stay.
I get the frustration, last week I had a trip in Japan. That day I went to Akihabara and decided to have Yakiniki Like for lunch. The store was quite full that day and I had to queue up for a while. When I sat down to eat, the queue was gone. There was this white dude wanting to come in for lunch as well, but there were no seats avaliable. The waiter kept telling him to wait outside but I guess he didn't know any Japanese and kept seeing the waiter gesture him to go outside. I think he thought the store did not welcome him or maybe he just did not want to wait, he left immediately and I felt so bad for the dude.
That's so sad... Wish they used some translation app or something
@@Tz3952ii But even that’s asking a lot. You don’t see an average American waiter trying to use a translation app for other languages that aren’t English, so why would you expect an average Japanese waiter to do the same?
Sure it would be nice outside of the expected service but why should that be an expectation in general?
@@Meimoons yea I know, that's true
@@Tz3952iiIt's the tourist's responsibility to learn the basics of the language.
@@fili0938navigating that situation needs more than a little basic japanese
Connor's parents are so wholesome
Chat saying "HI MOM"
Yes, europe does have high speed trains. France who were the first to have high speed trains with the TGV (trains à grandes vitesse) these tgv's are used in France since the 70's. To this day if you go on holiday in France it is still the quickest and cheapest alternative for national travelling.
France, Italy, Spain and Germany all have high speed rail systems with trains as fast as the Shinkansen, and Spain’s network is bigger than Japan’s.
I think a lot of the interest in the Shinkansen just comes from Brits, Americans and tourists from countries without their own high speed rail network.
He looks like the boy version of his mom PLSS
😭😭
Spain has high speed trains. They are fantastic for traveling between places like Madrid and Barcelona.
Yeah Spain’s system is great
Yeah outside of China and Japan, there's Spain with a bunch of high speed rail.
I'm jealous 😂
Spain has the second biggest highspeed rail system in the world. It's twice the size of Japan's network. Ranking goes like this #1 China #2 Spain #3 France #4 Germany and #5 Japan.
His parents look really british lmao
I don't know if I interpreted what he said wrong, but I still hope they appear as guests in an episode
I took my mom to asakusa to look at the shops while she was looking around the shop keeper yells いらっしゃいませー as they do but she jumped up and ran out of the shops, thinking she did something wrong. I had to explain they were just saying “welcome”.
Good call on not putting Connor's parents on the train. Jaden Animations has a hilarious video of her trip to Japan and compared the train map to the Windows 95 screen saver.
I’m the asshole that immediately turns around if I went into a wrong building 🙋♂️
France has the TGV which operates at 200mph. But yeah don’t think it’s anywhere near as reliable as japan’s rail.
Awww, you can see the resemblance in the thumbnail! 🥹
Taiwan also have High Speed Rail !
I'm American. Good public transportation in general is mind blowing to me
We have bullet trains in south korea too. They're calles KTX(i think it was shown in train to busan)
In France the TGV trains are not far away from being as fast as the shinkansen. The interior of both are pretty different though.
The TGVs are generally faster, most lines have a nominal operation of 320km/h, and so does almost all of the rolling stock. On the shinkansen only about half of the Tohoku line is rated for 320 (Utsunomiya to Morioka) though JR is working to upgrade the second half (to Shin-Aomori). Most of the rolling stock is only rated for 300 or even just 320, only the E5, H5, and E6 are rated for 320.
I have to say, I use the german ICE a lot and also used the shinkansen, both 1st class/green car, the seats in the shinkansen are nicer, also the train is a bit wider, also the windows allign with the seats and mobile connection is working nearly permanently, but except for that there isn't a great difference. Some things like the toilets in the ICE are even better.
Biggest advantage of japanese trains is that you know excactly where which car is located so that you don't have to run up the entire train to get in your car.
Lol his dad immediately with a Microsoft Teams tone...
Yeah in Spain we also have a high speed train, but as they said, it's not that well connected. Still awesome though
Connor looks just like his mom
Getting the train from Narita is part of the experience.
ok for real tho almost every taxi we took on our 2 week trip droppped us off at the wrong place even tho our guide gave them the address in japanese
good as always
We have various modes of public transportation in the US. Depending on the city where you live, options differ. I live in a city where just about everything I need in my daily life is less than a 1 mile walk from my apartment. If I’m traveling more than a couple of miles, I can take a bus or the subway. People seem to be confusing the fact that all countries have more populated areas than others. In general no matter what country you’re in, the suburban areas will have fewer access to public transportation. This goes for Japan as well. Where I live you don’t need to own a car, and I’ve lived here for 15 years. But there are parts of my city that have fewer access to things, and having a car would be beneficial. I think many Americans are afraid to give up their cars.
Connor looks like his mom in the thumbnail
Connor looks like he just came off a 24hr stream that headset hair ahaha
So I'm Southeast Asian, so my family and I are no stranger to Japanese food, we love it. My brother in particular is picky about his food, so when we went to Japan as adults, and then came back, he's actually in mourning for a while. Because every sushi he tastes now that we're back isn't as fresh as the ones we had back in Japan. I told him to suck it up bc wtf.
Why is Conners hair so messed up in this episode hahaha. It looked like he just took his VR headset off before getting on the pod.
america has bullet trains. amtrak has the acela in the northeast that goes at top speeds of 150-165 mph; shinkansen top speeds are 150-200 mph. people just don't realize it exists.
Acela almost never hits the speeds you talked about. It has to share rails with freight and local traffic. It’s more like a limited express JR train at best.
How your parents like japan there neat
I thought his mom was Sydney in the thumbnail hahah
The longer this video going on the more I wanna fix Connor's hair 😆 stop touching it
Connor's parents r sooo frickin sweet I might've got diabetes by watching them.😊 ❤
i hope there the next guest's on!
My first time in Asia, first time in Japan, I landed at Narita and took the skyliner in.
7:50 10:00 13:15
THE NARUTO EXPRESS?!
NARITA
💀
proud of connor and his parents
Uni (Sea Urchin) and Natto (fermented soybeans) are definitely the 50/50 mixup of Japanese food. People either love it or hate it.
(I'm indifferent toward Uni but I dont hate it. I love Natto)
Can confirm Chinese bullet train is as good as Japan's. Their stations have a ton of food options to bring for ride and you can also order simple food and drinks aboard. If you know what to do, you can also order takeaway to be delivered to your train if it has stops.
As for Europe, afaik Germany has a bullet train. It doesn't look bad at all. If iirc, Germany is one of the countries that contributed to the bullet train techs in China.
I would never board a Chinese train. Their escalators eat people.
ASO TOO MUCH VOLCANO
Of course, i, AKA (KILLSTARSIXX) have been permanently "BANNED" on Connors twitch channel for being friendly, polite and well mannered....LMAO, so i couldn't take part in the live stream festivities...But, his parents seem very nice...
What did you do to get banned?
