I remember hearing this song when I had a long layover in Phoenix. It was a Friday evening, and I was traveling alone. I could see the mountains in the distance as the sun was setting ( which gave sky this beautiful lavender hue). There couldn’t have been a more perfect song to encapsulate the feeling of wandering aimlessly through an airport alone.

I listened to this song a year after I moved to a new city in the middle of the pandemic, where I knew exactly two people who were busy with their own lives on the other side of the city. The year was full of Friday nights spent working on my papers while enviously staring out the window at carefree groups of people that were too drunk to realize how loudly they were talking. This song captures that feeling perfectly.

It’s genuinely impossible for me to pick which track off this record gives me the biggest sweetest smooch on my cheek, but in the wake of all of my friends and I leaving the one job we all had together and our schedules never lining up for us to hang out, my sister not being able to afford to come see us down south this past summer, and still mulling over all of the potential and questions I have about a guy I recently broke up with, this one takes the cake for sure, at least for a little while. 🧡

Listening to this song nowadays is kinda weird for me. When it came out I was such an alcoholic going through it, drinking by myself and always craving experiences with others or by myself, but always feeling so lonely. I listen to it now in nursing school and I have friends just never see them, I'm sober and dont drink or partake anymore, so whenever they wanna go out they wanna drink and its just not my style anymore, so I stay home and hit the books while my fiance takes care of me. Ive grown to enjoy my alone time, it makes me happy. just like this song does

Pop-country that leans more to "folk" or indie-pop than to country. Not that there's anything wrong with that. Loved Same Trailer Different Park and have loved what I've heard off this record as well.
