A Tour of Acorn Hill Farm & Creamery

The story of Acorn Hill Farm & Creamery is the story of many small farm operations in New York: the struggle to stay profitable in a food system built for big farms. Joyce Henion started the business out of her garage when Alea was a small child. As Alea and the business grew, the pressures of managing a business and raising a child was too much for Joyce to do alone. To save the business, and keep the goats, Alea stepped up to manage the herd and milking, letting Joyce focus on cheese making. We talk with Joyce and Alea about the history, struggles and future of their small goat dairy.
