Another great video. I just met this gentleman at the Extreme Benchrest in Arizona and found him to be just as genuine and gracious as he appears in his videos. He provides a great source of escape for me. My work is stressful and his videos provide a great relief.
Hold on, I'm about 8:40 in, and this boy said please AND thank you when Matt offered him some chips. I love the good manners, especially on the young children.
there's a farm about 100 miles from my home were we hunt ground squirrels. we typically get 100 or more each on an average day, but we are using .17's, .22 mag. great fun. really enjoy your videos
The modern air rifle is just as good, if not better, than a rimfire for small varmint hunting. I've dropped groundhogs from ~150 yards with my .17HMR, but you're right in that it'll scare the rest of the game away for hours. For repeat kills, the only thing you could used unsuppressed would be a .22 short subsonic, which is probably inferior in ballistics to the kind of PCP air rifles you're using. They're really marvels of modern engineering.
Willyboy47 was in SA many years ago but never got around to doing any hunting, I very often think of the place but I think it's too late for me to go back there now. Keep making these great videos Matt. Cheers.
when you're doing the instant replay with the cannibal squirrel, did you notice that the pellet passed thru that sitting still squirrels head, hit the chunk of wood behind it and moved the whole piece of wood?
Great video, Matt (and Luke!). Knocking down those populations is vital for farms. I'm REALLY looking forward to the long range hunt next vid. Also want to add: South Africa is a gorgeous country. Rugged and beautiful without the crazy sense of forboding that some terrain that is just vertical. Someday I hope to make a trip there with my wife and take a look-see. As an aside- I don't have local GS, but the grey squirrels have really put a dent in the native songbird population. Since I started working on them, a lot of the smaller songbrds have bounced back.
Sweet...good times. Just a note, Matt. Be careful about handling the carcasses and eating without washing up. When these vermin proliferate, there is a propensity to be infected with disease. In Idaho, near my location, ground squirrels were ramped and had contracted the Plague. There were several cases of this becoming an issue, for humans last year. Want to keep you around for a while. :-) Thanks for the scope cam footage, by the way. I know it is kinda a pain in the ass.
I live in Canada and i'm a huge fan of Boerewors and Mrs. Ball's (sterk) chutney. Also love Biltong, unfortunatly we can no longer get Ostrich biltong up here so it's beef only for us. BTW, I'm not from South Africa, I'm from NFLD Canada, but my good friend is from there so that's how I discovered SA foods. Love pickled fish as well, some really good food in SA. Cheers.
I went ground squirrel shooting in Alturas California and got about 200 of them and 2 badgers in just 2 days. You should make a trip to the states and get some hunting in.
Your videos are awesome, very informative and entertaining. Yours and Tedsholdover are the best air weapon channels. I like you equally much! Keep up the good job =)
Great vid nice to see more with the impact. Can you do a vid on what all you can hunt with each caliber so i know which is best for me. I hope to be ordering mine soon
I clean up these guys on a Dairy farm, usually 2 to 3 hundred a year with a .17 HMR and noise isn't a factor, after a few kills I just move on to another corner of the field and carry on. No retrieval at all they get mopped up over night by Coyotes, Hawks as well as Turkey Vultures. Farmer just loves it and buys lots of ammo as they just desimate the field's.
looks like some of the ground squirrels you got there are about the size of our fox squirrels receipt here in New York that can weigh up to two and a half pounds.
Nice video. You made me buy my first pcp (only shot springers before) and my Robert Lane regulator is on the way. I just hope I get the install right without stuffing up the gun.
Great video Matt ! What are the specs on your Frontier ? And lets say if they are same price ( 2.5x15 and 5x30 )which one you choose for your application ?
Great vids man. Always some great hunting. I was wondering if you know of a single ring that mounts to a 1inch scope so you can attach a small camera to film from the side or top instead of through the scope?
Why did you decide to forego mounting the Sidewinder on the Impact? I'm questioning because I will be getting an Impact and am having a hard time deciding upon what scope to get.
do you match up your cameras lenses and tube that surrounds it with the diameter of your scope and just use like some PVC to bridge the gap and get the proper distance
Great video as always and can't wait for next one. Matt could you please tell me if you think the Impact could be shot by a left hander ok or would the large Mag be in the way of the shooters cheek? A quick demo would be great if you remember when you next film perhaps? Many thanks and atb Dixie in uk.
hey matt, do you know where sub 12ft. guns can be had in the states? 15-30 shots per fill can get frustrating when I'm never gonna be hunting past 30-40 yards
That is a lot of power for a 177 cal, I was thinking of getting the inpact in 25 cal but now I'm not sure after seeing how much power you are getting from the 177, is that out of the box or have you done some modifications? Thanks

Your videos are the best on UA-cam.
8:47 Take those carbs away from me. Lol! HAHAHA
Best small game hunting videos right here
Awesome vid & EXCELLENT shooting. Loved the slow motion and the zing of the pellet. LOL
As a yank, I looked with suspicion at a bottle of Mr's Balls Chutney from my SA work buddies. I have a case in my pantry now. Good stuff.
Willyboy47 was in SA many years ago but never got around to doing any hunting, I very often think of the place but I think it's too late for me to go back there now. Keep making these great videos Matt. Cheers.

Wow they really piled up good! Nice shooting indeed!
Squirrel stew sounds really good.

Not very impressive, 30 footpounds is enough to kill a deer with a brain or lung shot.
Those ground squirrels make a great stew!!
What pleasure to watch another one of your fantastic videos Matt, keep up the good work !!
Nice one Matt, great bag of squirrels there ! Love your vids.

Not one single FEMALE ground squirrel was killed or harmed in this video. 🤣🤣🤣. Great shooting 👍
Great vids man. Always some great hunting. I was wondering if you know of a single ring that mounts to a 1inch scope so you can attach a small camera to film from the side or top instead of through the scope?
This is so gratifying 😉
I would love to do this it looks fun.
You might want to check out the market for squirrel haired paint brushes, best quality is tail hair.

do you match up your cameras lenses and tube that surrounds it with the diameter of your scope and just use like some PVC to bridge the gap and get the proper distance
The second guy really send those squirrels on a quick comma
Where do you obtain the suppressor from for this rifle and which is it? don't see a link in the description.
Great video as always and can't wait for next one. Matt could you please tell me if you think the Impact could be shot by a left hander ok or would the large Mag be in the way of the shooters cheek? hey matt, do you know where sub 12ft. guns can be had in the states? 15-30 shots per fill can get frustrating when I'm never gonna be hunting past 30-40 yards
