Absorption in sieve tray tower (Ethanol is absorbed by water)

Molasses fermented to produce a liquor containing ethyl alcohol. A CO2 rich vapour with small amount of ethyl alcohol is evolved. The alcohol is recovered by absorption with water in a sieve tray tower. How many equilibrium stages are needed for this process?
The flow of Liquid and Gas is counter-current.
Assume isothermal and isobaric conditions in tower. Neglect mass transfer of all components except ethyl alcohol.
