I have always been on the fence about people plucking beautiful wild animals like these out of their natural habitats and breeding them only for the purpose of fattening their own pockets. Loving these animals is one thing. Doing the right thing by them including whatever it takes to preserve their natural habitats and keep them in the wild as nature intended is something entirely different.
Being captive bred, there's plenty for the pet trade. On the downside, they're terrible pets and way too many aren't kept well and a huge number end up in sanctuaries, forever mentally ruined by the way they were kept. Macaws are EXTREMELY loud, messy, will destroy furniture, and need a lot of room and and attention. The best place for the is the wild, but the captive bred birds don't have that choice. Any large parrot owner will tell anyone - DON'T get a parrot! We may love our babies, but it's like having a screaming, destructive toddler for the rest of your life.
Fantastic birds. I would love to have another Vosmeari Eclectus Parrot (male) I had adopted one from a rescue that had been neglected and was antisocial. I spent a great deal of attention getting him to be a happy bird. It paid off with many years of love, he was awesome with kids and was the animal all the kids wanted to see. He was an incredible bird that thrilled everyone.
Lovely birds, especially the pied one. Hope she does not change color too much when she molts to her adult feathers. If I were you I'd keep her somewhere else under secure lock and key. Some people will do anything.
exactly WHY I came HERE!! That is NO KIND OF LIFE!!! This should be illegal!!! They need to be able to FLY!!! Let me put YOU in a Cage 1/8 the size of your own home!! Shameful! 😮
hi i just wanna ask what food is good for a "black head kai parrot"? i also would love if u can teach me how to train it so it wont bite me everytime he come onto my hands
Hi this is my 1 st time seeing the channel, so hi ~ but as a aviculturist and keeping / breeding all types of parrots for over 50 years ( now retired and have none , very weird feeling to have no birds at all ) may I make a small suggestion ? with your almonds if you feed whole ones they pick them up have a bite and drop & waste the rest , if you buy " sliced almonds " mix it in to their mix they get more than one or two goes at them , hence les wastage , I found it worked wonders for my eclectus especially . You have a nice set-up , back in the day I had up to 29 aviariesand amongst others specialised in all the types of Australian Lorikeets , major mitchells , sulphur crested cockatoos , lovebirds and even gouldian finches to name a few.
With so many parrots in rescue and irresponsible breeders adding to overpopulation, what ideas do you have to make a stab at supporting all the unwanted birds in rescues? Such a huge problem in all pet populations, but birdlovers can help.
The noise protection is pretty smart I need that watching lol just kidding loving it
Amazing!
That’s a long walk to feed those birbs!!
Sure is!

Eclectus are amazing birds
What a beautiful bird!
Money, perfect name for that bird ❤
Having a lot of experience with exotic birds, especially macaws, those cages are way too small !
Very small aviaries for blue and golds not fair for a big bird like that at least a 6 m minimum flight
Not to mention, seeds and pellets only is shamefull. No fresh fruits, veggies, or other foods... should be illegal...😢

Do you have electric fencing all the way around?
We do. But since the hurricane we have yet to connect it. We use traps to relocate raccoons.
They don’t have any flight space 🤔 Is there a reason why🤔 I may be uneducated but would think they would be happier with more room 🤔

And it looks like.
You cut their wings. That is mean you should not do that. Respect the bird
You drove all that way. Did you buy one???

Wing clipped 😢😢😢😢
Harlequin for the bird's name. As for your birds, are you going to build a flight cage?

I’m looking for an African gray rescue - can you recommend one?
Where are you located? Reach out to local humane society and ask them for a local bird outreach program.
