I had the priviledge of travelling on the preserved section of the old Ghan (now sadly long since gone) from Macdonnell Siding down to Ewaninga in the twenty teens. Great experience, and it was a steam loco!
It should be offered as an "off train" excursion from The Ghan, I would have liked to have seen the truck museum too. Someone had a You Tube post on it saying it was closed? The DH class looks similar to the NSW railways Caterpillar powered diesel hydraulic 73 class. Great to see NT rail video, not enough of it Doug, thank you.

I’d love to do a cold start in some of those engines, but they need so much power to turn over, thought my idi was big those are monsters.
