For example, for the keys, the measurements converted from inch to cm would be 2.5 millimeters, which is hard to follow on a ruler. But in the end I made my own measurements and it turned out pretty well.

One point I would add is I would use a primer and gloss black spray paint to finish off this magnificent creation. Makes for a super smooth finish with light sanding between coats. That is such a smart idea, I have an off-brand Dremel powertool, I wonder if it would work like that as well...
It will but dremels usually have really small chucks to fit a dowel!

I used to build model rockets with balsa fins. I used sanding sealer to fill in the wood grain for a smooth grain-free finished look.
