      The Square to Spare-You're so Rad! Thanks! Mini-drums soon please! Shells, hoops and lugs are pretty easy, and you could use heavy-gauge foil for shallow-cone shaped cymbals! Stands are simple too!

      3 pedals are definitely more common on modern pianos but I decided to go with the 2 pedal option here since that's the old standard :) Would definitely choose 3 pedals for a grand though ^_^

    This is GORGEOUS! As someone who plays the piano, though usually a grand piano, this is spot on. I especially loved how you took the time to make the keys out of polymer clay and individual enharmonics (black keys). Beautiful!!

    You did a really good job, it came out awesome! You could also chuck the wooden dowels in a drill and sand them to the shape you wanted, it would kind of work as a small lathe. Anyway that's an awesome mini piano you made!

    • @ScrapwoodCity

    It's been almost a year since I dream of making one exactly like you did. I'm scared to begin, because I only used metric system until now, I have difficulties cutting through wood and I was able to find wood just a little bit thicker than yours. Wish me luck, I really need it. I watch this video very often.

    • @madmaster8304
      @madmaster8304 6 років тому

      ioanakat you know you can change the measurements into metric?

    • @ioanakat
      @ioanakat 6 років тому +2

      Mad Master of course I know that. But sometimes when I convert into centimeters, the numbers are not exact. For example, for the keys, the measurements converted from inch to cm would be 2.5 millimeters, which is hard to follow on a ruler. But in the end I made my own measurements and it turned out pretty well.

      I considered using wire on the sides of the lid to act as a hinge instead (the same technique I used in my miniature folding table video) but I liked the look of the hinges so that's why I went with that. I think the wire method would work really well here though :) Hope that helps!

    I would even go as far as hinging the top of the piano and add a music box key to this to make it "play" music. This is pretty nifty!

    Nice piano! I’m a guitarist who used to play violin, but I would love to have a miniature piano in my bedroom so badly after seeing this! I love your violin and guitars as well!

    As a piano player since I was about 7 or 8 I can definitely say that this was very well done. I can't wait to make this and put it in my nieces' doll house. The only thing that is noticeably inaccurate is that there should be 3 feet rather than just 2, but even that isn't really a big deal since the middle one is almost never used. You get 2 thumbs up from me.

      Aww thanks Kristen! I really appreciate that coming from a piano player! 3 pedals are definitely more common on modern pianos but I decided to go with the 2 pedal option here since that's the old standard. Will def do 3 pedals when I make a grand though :D Thank you thank you

    They're very cute! I'm going to try a cello sometime. I would just like to point out that a piano keyboard starts on an A and not a C

    The build looks AMAZING!!! Just a small piece of info: the keys are not supposed to be glossy because they have an ivory and ebony surface to avoid slipping hence they are actually matte 😃😃!
