Living off the Aina. Pray your video gets out more to educate more of us Native Hawaiians. Hawaii could be so sustainable
There’s work to do that’s for sure

Love and Prayers for Maui and the people of those beautiful islands.
Currently living on Kauai but love the Big Island.Your video is truly Inspiring!🤙
Currently living on the Big Island but I LOVE Kauai, want to trade places?😂. Thanks for watching.
So glad you and your family are safe!
Thanks. We’re closer to the 2018 lava flow than the Maui fire, but because if that flow we feel for the people even more on Maui.
Oh, man you are amazing.... what a simple and humble way you presents. This is inspiring! Felt me like this is what I was wanting for long....many thanks.
I hope you can make it happen. I feel like it just happened for me
Hey Sean (Shawn? Shaun?), I just wanted to let you know you've inspired me quite a bit. Already an off grid homesteader for a decade or so but now that I've got some businesses going and a totally freeform remote job, I'm working on selling everything off so I can head down there and hopefully be a valuable part of the community! Been preparing for years and your videos have been instrumental in that. eBooks are another good suggestion. See ya soon! Aloha.
I have an ebook and it makes pretty good money for me. You probably have things I can learn from you, be sure to look me up if you ever make it out this way
Excellent Video. You add a huge amount of value to this space.
Mahalo. Glad you think so!
Don’t forget to donate to the animals!
we think alike ... watching from Puna, my first donation was Maui Humane Society. I was born in Santa Monica & grew up in Fullerton. Been on Big Island since 2001. Good video, mahalo.
I grew up in Santa Monica! That must be why we think alike.
Thanks for sharing 👍
Thanks for watching
Thanks bud, I'll be donating to the animal fund.
Thanks
Hi :) ❤
Aloha!
In Hawaii you will need a business license.
True that
Just wanted to say our hearts are with Hawaii. We've been looking for the right property there for a couple years, moving from a town that burnt down in the dixie fire in '21. Our mountain property survived unscathed but the animals that showed up for refuge after was so sad. Bears, cougars, deer etc with their fur and paws burnt badly. It was heartbreaking to see so many have to be euthanized and the lack of resources to care for them.
That’s why I wanted throw out a fundraiser for the animals, because those poor guys always get overlooked, and it’s our fault they’re in that spot in the first place
Does Mint Mobile works on Saddle road?
It does
The crappy soccer team - Wrexham - are not in England! Wrexham is in a country called Wales. e.g. It's a bit like saying Quebec is in the USA!
You got me. I’ve just never really been that interested in the uk, but since your comment I learned a lot. Wales is not in England.
@@HomesteadinHawaii - good on you for looking it up - the Welsh have their own Celtic language too although many only speak English!
Hey buddy I would like to have a few conversations with you
Am I in trouble?
@@HomesteadinHawaii not at all.
@@HomesteadinHawaii what's the best way to contact you
I'm not sure. I don't want to put my info on a open post
Talk to more cacao growers. You ain’t making any money doing that.
That’s why I preface it saying you better be good at marketing and Branding
@@HomesteadinHawaii That won’t even do it. You want to make money in cacao you need to do agritourism. Otherwise, you’ll make less than minimum wage with your crop. There’s a reason why cacao is done with slave labor.
@@Tom-fz6pe so your saying not even the local chocolate bar companies sprouting up aren’t able to turn a profit? Hamakua chocolate farm? Puna chocolate company? They seem to be be making money thru diversified operations. Money as a straight cacao grower, no way. Your right on that.
@@marymalko5105 That’s a chocolate company, not a cacao grower. Very different. Even then, the small orchards that do make their own bar are barely breaking even. Have spoken to many; I’d love to grow it but the return on the investment is terrible. The biggest issue with cacao is the constant labor involved in picking, drying, and fermenting. Then you have to sell the seed or make a bar and then sell it. There’s also the care of the orchard which is time consuming. Hawaii also has the highest priced seed in the market and it’s still not worth it, unfortunately. If you add tourism to your operations then you’ll make some money, but it can’t exceed what the cacao farming makes which is a real hinderance.
