Andrew, have you had any trouble charging wirelessly in your Tesla charging cradle, given the new placement of the wireless coil in the P9PF? You didn't mention it in this video when you placed the phone in the cradle. This is a huge issue for me, and I want to be sure i will be able to "wirelessly" charge it in my Tesla.
A very realistic review of the use case of the phone. I've been using the Galaxy F2 for 4 yrs now and just picked up my P9PF 2day... People are focusing 2 much on the high price... But if ur shopping around there are many deals... I've bought the 512gb porcelain one for $1900 AUD ($1K AUD trade in deal discount) @ JB Hi-Fi Aussie... That's cheaper than the IPhone 15 pro max... While I hardly touch my laptop anymore... I do all my banking, trading, reading, watching video on the go, shopping and many more stuff on my phone... That big display is so handy and worth the price tag... These days all flagship phones are very snappy, not much of a difference in speed unless ur a heavy gamer on ur phone. The same goes with the camera... U won't notice many differences... But that's my 2 cent... And I can tell U comparing to the Galaxy F2 This phone feel so light...
I was Leaning towards the z fold 6 but I think I’m going to try google pixel fold 9 I’ve had a Samsung flip before never owned a pixel I would be switching from I’m iPhone 15 pro max hope it will be worth it
Hi, as you said in the review, there is a very big letter box when viewing movies in the internal display , is there other fold phones tha have better aspect ratio for viewing movies?
The mew Ai that kicks in is googles friend, will be fun see Apple imp. in final ios and with the new iphone. And Fold 6 has nice ai so when they drop new s25 Ultra i guess it will be damn solid with new spec and even a tiny bit new ai stuff. :)
Nice review. I think this is a great device but the fact the cameras aren’t the same as the 9 pro is a bit of a let down in my opinion. I get it wasn’t possible to accommodate due to the fold but it is kind of weird when getting the most expensive product that you get a downgrade of sorts. I’m sure it’s the difference isn’t too noticeable but it’s a $700 price jump from the 9 pro xl. I’d probably just buy the new one plus tablet and the 9 pro and keep a couple hundred change lol
I'm upgrading from the Pixel 7a , have the Fold preordered. Was debating on this or the newest Samsung foldable for $100 more, but I heard it burns through its battery quick.
This video is nicely shot, so presumably you know at least something about cameras and lenses... So why do you call it an "optical zoom"? There is no optical zooming at all here! The camera system is 3x cameras, each with a fixed focal length lens. Surely you know this?
The pixel fold not natively blowing up apps on the inside screen is the main reason I chose the z fold. I wanted the pixel fold, but I just can't deal with that
I went for 9 Pro XL but it's nice to see improvements to the Fold. I find doing portrait mode I'm magic editor yields MUCH better results than portrait mode in camera.
Google company is a top class company in the world. The products it makes are different from other companies and the coming generations can also use them. I like it very much (Google pixel 9 pro fold)❤❤🎉🎉
Honestly all they need to do is square it out and it can beat the z fold 6 just in cameras 😂, just the fact the the outer screen is wider and inner screen is bigger
I want the hardware, software/animation smoothness and camera of the pixel fold with one UI. The Z Fold series has been some of the laziest rehashes I’ve ever seen especially in a market for a new form factor. Serves samsung right to only selling 300K units, hope it really motivates them to actually make some meaningful changes. Every other company is actually pushing foldable hardware forward
They just announced that special fold 6 in japan and south Korea and it's literally what everyone around the world wanted. 6.5 inch cover screen, 8 inch inner display, 200 mp main camera, cover screen s pen support and 16 gbs of ram. Idk why samsung only released it in those 2 countries, it would've been a hit here in America.
A foldable phone should operate like a simple phone when closed with the inner screen for tasks requiring more effort. Therefore, the outer screen should have only four apps - the phone, text, email, voicemail, and perhaps a browser for quick searches and nothing else. When more is needed, the phone is used open; all the installed should be available, grouped into folders based on (for me) the category of the app inside, i.e., Finance, Stores, Accessories, Books, etc. (I have 22 such categories) - with the four apps from the outer available on a dock, I don’t use a search bar, but that would be an inner screen item if used. The Pixel 9 Pro Fold doesn’t seem to have an easy way of having a completely different outer and inner screen - the outer screen is always mirrored on the left side of the inner screen. In addition, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold has trouble with wireless charging on all of the stands I currently have due to a non-normal placement of the phone charging coils, I'm told. I liked the Pixel 9 Pro Fold as a physical object, but I will stick with my Z Fold for a while longer due to its inability to be used as I want, from both software and hardware perspectives.
Which phone do you want me to review or compare next?

The mew Ai that kicks in is googles friend, will be fun see Apple imp. in final ios and with the new iphone. And Fold 6 has nice ai so when they drop new s25 Ultra i guess it will be damn solid with new spec and even a tiny bit new ai stuff. :)
random question.. what brand shirt are you wearing?
Great content
Thank you all these other sellouts are milking the unboxing, first impressions, blah blah
It’s so annoying isn’t it? 🤦♂️ I appreciate that Andrew usually only dedicates 1 detailed video to a product review and not 6 to milk the coverage
I like that the cover display is way more usable than in a Z Fold.
I want that live wallpaper 😢.
Remembering LG V series with these features minus the gap in the middle of course. Lol
Does it have unlimited storage for photos? How does that work?
Does the Google case make it very thick ?
This video is nicely shot, so presumably you know at least something about cameras and lenses... So why do you call it an "optical zoom"? There is no optical zooming at all here! The camera system is 3x cameras, each with a fixed focal length lens. Surely you know this?
The pixel fold not natively blowing up apps on the inside screen is the main reason I chose the z fold. I wanted the pixel fold, but I just can't deal with that
Can I keep the fold you tested?
I went for 9 Pro XL but it's nice to see improvements to the Fold. I find doing portrait mode I'm magic editor yields MUCH better results than portrait mode in camera.
Can you watch UA-cam on the whole screen when phone is open?
Please make a gaming review/ test on this fold
Great video
Google company is a top class company in the world. The products it makes are different from other companies and the coming generations can also use them. I like it very much (Google pixel 9 pro fold)❤❤🎉🎉
How would you resolve fingerprint issue ? I think that would drive me crazy . Constanly wiping and nlt like tou can add screen protector on inside
Very good stuff
First ! Love the video so far Man !
second and second this thought, good review so far!
Please do comparison with Honor Magic V3. Many say Google can't beat Honor on hardwares.
Hi Andrew, my wife's boyfriend hates pixel phones. any advice?
Honestly all they need to do is square it out and it can beat the z fold 6 just in cameras 😂, just the fact the the outer screen is wider and inner screen is bigger
How's the keyboard size when folded
I don't quite see a use case for a foldable but if Apple comes out with one, I'll give it a look.
My only complaint is the giant hinge bezel including huge corner bezels; looks very dated.
One of the only foldables that looks good imo
No one even comes to samsung software, they perfected it not only in there folds but the S series as well
Does it have a video boost like we have in 8 pro or not ?
I think I'll wait for the 3 😅
A foldable phone should operate like a simple phone when closed with the inner screen for tasks requiring more effort.
It's cool, I just wouldn't know what to do with it unfolded.
The Fold Pro will be my 3rd folding phone. I do a lot of reading, books and text books and videos for school.
