I picked up on that going through the episode, it was so wonderful. Heaven Sent has very quickly become my favourite Who episode ever, classic or modern. The whole show would be much better off without Ben Foster, Murray Gold's orchestrator. Gold's compositions are wonerful, but Foster always pours buckets of orchestral slush over them. Sometimes it works (The Wedding of River Song), sometimes it takes 6 years and another composer to actually bring out the beauty in a piece, like here.
I wish someone would put a classic regeneration effect on a new Doctor regeneration. Like the 5th-6th effect on Tennant to Smith. It's a shame those kinds of vids aren't out there; I really like the old regenerations.
My headcanon is Five-to-Six showed the Doctor's inside thoughts, not the outward appearance of regeneration. Similar to how Twelve saw each NuWho companion, Five saw all of his companions and the Master as his mind clouded over, then he woke up a new man.
As much as I enjoy Murray Gold, I have to say that this video really makes me wish that the New Series had kept the synthesizer-style soundtrack. There's just something so mysterious, alien and utterly Doctor Who about it.
Couldn't disagree more. I think they both have their place in Doctor Who history. However, I very much appreciate the variety of parts and sounds found in Murray Gold's composing.
It does, it also sounds like by height the Davison era, you mean Caves of Androzani Doctor? You’re expecting someone else? I…I….I… Three I’s in one breath makes you sound like a rather egotistical young lady What happened? Change my dear, and it seems on a moment too soon *THE DOCTOR* *COLLIN BAKER* *PETER DAVISON*
Ali Convoy Plus redoing the effects (such as putting the purple warp over Tennant’s face and replacing the CG shot of the TARDIS orbiting the Earth with a model shot), maybe also rotoscoping Tennant into the ‘80s TARDIS interior and of course, adding film grain and reducing the quantity to SD.
Listen to this plenty of times, and it’ll trick you into thinking this was made in ‘81. Especially due to the fact that there’s no modern cars, we just see the Doctor and the Oods, add the regeneration effects from 4th-5th and run this through a VCR and it’ll definitely look like something from the early 80s
Aw man, you really gotta make me cry? It's beautiful.... How it should have been. Although I think there needs to be more emphasis on the notes at 2:27
this version worked much better I find. It felt lonely as the tenth had been and really felt like a much better send off than the super exaggerated orchestral send off we actually got.
That actually sounds pretty fantastic! One could dare imagine this accompanying The Fourth Doctor or perhaps The Fifth Doctors Regeneration.
“Fantastic” - are you the 9th doctor looking at your future regenerations? ;)
"It's the end... but the moment has been prepared for..."
If Doctor Who was still being run by John Nathan Turner.
This was great! I don't know if anyone noticed but Murray Gold did use some 80s style synth in Heaven Sent.

And then immediately after it plays, 12 says "Old, very old, possibly very, very old." Brilliant.

@@Nick-kz6dg it's 5's companions stopping The Master's attempt to kill the Doctor mid-regeneration(yes that sounds stupid, but it's true)
Kinda sounds like David Tennant’s version of “It’s the End” from Logopolis.
As much as I enjoy Murray Gold, I have to say that this video really makes me wish that the New Series had kept the synthesizer-style soundtrack. There's just something so mysterious, alien and utterly Doctor Who about it.
Soundsmyth Productions It'd've been cool if they kept Murray's songs, but they were composed in this style.
I agree. I think a synthesizer-style soundtrack would be a much better fit for modern Doctor Who, even though Murray Gold`s usual stuff is great.
Couldn't disagree more. I think they both have their place in Doctor Who history. However, I very much appreciate the variety of parts and sounds found in Murray Gold's composing.
Let’s hope the new composer goes with this style for Series 11 and beyond!
WimpyKelv12 the new composer does synth work with maybe a few live mixes from actual bands. The new BGM music is great
The part at 1:13 to 1:30 is SOO 1980s! Sound's like it could have been in height the Davison Era!
It does, it also sounds like by height the Davison era, you mean Caves of Androzani
Doctor?
You’re expecting someone else?
I…I….I…
Three I’s in one breath makes you sound like a rather egotistical young lady
What happened?
Change my dear, and it seems on a moment too soon
*THE DOCTOR*
*COLLIN BAKER*
*PETER DAVISON*
Should've tried it in 4:3 for extra 80s ness
Ali Convoy

I wonder what "I am the Doctor" will sound like if Peter Howell did it...
I wish someone would do a version of "It's The End" from Logopolis in the style of Murray Gold.
Well this do?:ua-cam.com/video/wbIWmQr--xY/v-deo.html
Nice! Now I wish someone would do "It's The End" from Logopolis and "Is This Death?" from the Caves of Androzani in the style of Murray Gold.

I got a really good Logopolis feel in this. Awesome!!
Really wish I could download or buy the background track. I'd get it in a heartbeat because of how amazing this is 😁
"This song is over, but the story never ends."
-One of the saddest lines ever
One of the few videos that actually make it to my Favourite playlist :)
Now that does sound cool
This gave me chills
This sent shivers down my spine... but in a good way.
the 10th doctors ending was so sad
Brilliant. Love it.
I wasn't sure at first but as it went on I liked it more. :) Really well done.
I can picture this remix being used in the eighties by Derbyshire or Howell for the Fourth Doctor or something.
I'd love to see this with the "5th Doctor's regeneration but it's 2010" video
better than the original in my opinion , still has the goodness of it but is a lot less bloody depressing and doesn't feel like the show is gonna die
The much requested MP3 download link is now here! bit.ly/valedecemsc Enjoy! :)
James Richard gone be 16 and this gone be his transformation theme
"It's all over. But, the moment has been prepared for.
My song is ending now, but, my story never ends...
Rose, I don't want to go."
"Its the end" not "its all over"
@Anthony Yeeetus He simply combined the Fourth Doctor’s farewell speech with Ten’s.
I want crying :( TENNNN !! I MISS YOU :'(
Aw man, you really gotta make me cry? It's beautiful.... How it should have been. Although I think there needs to be more emphasis on the notes at 2:27
This isn’t even my final form RAAAAAAAHH!!!!!
NuWho meets Quatermass 1977. Pure genius. Congrats 🫠
Here's hoping for a Quatermass (Holst Mars) suite from u ❤
Added to my list of music tracks that gives me shivers 🥺
Very Stranger Things. I love it!
Could someone put this song in the 4th or 5th doctors regeneration please 👌
1:33 DAVID TENNANT THE SPOCK OF THE DOCOTR WHO UNIVERSE!!!!!!
This sounds awesome!
If McCulloch was guest-hired to compose for Ten's regeneration
You should try this with another doctors regeneration I think it would be good
Daleks be like :
Dalek supreme: What are you doing
Daleks : synthetic the doctors death
Dalek supreme : WOT ok
Doctor Who should go back to this format for Doctor 13 !
Jennertia Productions agreed. The new composer could really tap into that 80s nostalgia like stranger things
*piano burning as the song plays*
Damn I love the Tenth doctor, but the 80's Doctor Who is the shit.
he could have done so much more
Have you got this whole scene without any music?
ua-cam.com/video/HVTg3zNae3A/v-deo.html
He got his answer, after 3 years
Doom Spidey worth the wait 😂
this version worked much better I find. It felt lonely as the tenth had been and really felt like a much better send off than the super exaggerated orchestral send off we actually got.
I hope there's a way to download the song.
Sounds like something from Hotline Miami
Can we get I video of just the music as well maybe
This is awesome, can you release the soundtrack seperate??
Did you use an AdLib Tracker?
More like 70's synth sounds...
Is there possibly an MP3 that's begging for a release? ;)
I'll try and sort something out. :)
TheMI7G Please do on sound cloud I say
+TheMI7G Any chance of this still getting an MP3 release? :D
Where does one download this music?
Did that choir synth exist in 1981? Regardless, it sounds amazing!
if david tennant would be the 14th doctor , i would be so happy
This comment aged remarkably well... 😆
It's a little loud, but otherwise awesome.
HOLY SHIT
Is the synth theme available anywhere?
The tardis is not like this if made in 1981.
Sounds almost Stranger Things.
Do This is Gallifrey as an 80's remix
This is laughably cheesy. Completely ruins the scene though.
I wish someone would do an orchestral version of "This Is The End" from Logopolis in the style of Murray Gold.
