  • Been wanting some more messor barbs for a while and finally caved and went shopping on ants hq. quite looking forward to growing both girls into nice sized graniverous colonys.

    Nice , it's fun to start again sometimes . Your old spare colony are still doing well in my kitchen in fact I just bought a fridge cleaning syringe set to make watering them easier . Such underrated ants the old messors . They love as much protein as any other ants in my opinion the whole seed thing is a red herring , yes they can survive on just seeds but it's too much fun watching them butcher and dismember a cockroach better than any other ant I have kept . I think it was one of the old channels that had great footage of this . was it ants Vienna or one of the others 🤔

    I’ve had my queen since winter of last year. She has barely started laying eggs. She now keeps them nearby her mouth. Hopefully she gets nanitics soon 🤔

      Yeah that's alright, there good mums and first sign of trouble they pick em up ready to run away with there babies, unlike some ants that just run and leave the babies 😄
