I usually stress over putting in signatures. You make it look so easy. Your method is logical and systematic. I don't do it often enough. That trick for putting both threads through at the same time is brilliant!
Hi Rhonda, don’t stress about signatures, it does take practice and the more you do the easier it gets like everything. Glad you picked up on the strings tip, I’m just passing on what I know ❤️😁
I love your methods. I've watched what seems like thousands of videos on journal making. I believe your video is the simplest and much appreciated. I've made several journals using Readers Digest book covers. They do make a nice, sturdy journal cover.
Hi thank you very much for your lovely comment ☺️ I like to keep things simple so I’m glad you enjoyed my style. The readers digest books are a perfect size and even the spine doesn’t need changing 😁🩷
Readers Digest books make such a nice size journal. I love the print cover you’ve used. I’m making my first five signature in a RD book cover. Thank you for making me less nervous about sewing them in. 💖💖💖
What a fun little journal Carol. I love using the old Reader's Digest books because they are such a great size. I love how you added the lace on the spine and covers. I have so much vintage lace but never remember to use it! 🩷🩷🩷
Thanks so much Helen 😁 they are just a perfect size for junk journals. I think I’ve used all mine. I’ll have to do a hunt for some more. Get out that antique lace and use it 🤣🤣🩷
Hi Kimberley, thank you so very much. I’m glad you enjoyed it 😁 I will be doing a video where I show what I do with those little pages whether it’s in this journal or the next 🩷
Well done on the journal! The lace is so pretty. Thanks for the tips. I have to remember about using colouring book pages because I have sooo many pages that I can't colour due to all the detailed pictures (they make me dizzy looking at them).
This is one of the best on book bindinding. So many useful tips that I have learnt from you. Thank you . Please don't stop making such great tutorials. X
This is where I always struggle…getting the signatures in evenly….and you’ve made it much easier …maybe I can do this without the struggle now! Thanks very much for such a clear, concise, short tutorial!😊
What a great tutorial, we all need a reminder from time to time and pick up new tips. 😊 I find I tend to put too many pages in the signature and then dislike it because it doesn't lay as flat. Look forward to watching the next video. ❤❤xx
Aw thank you Dale, I am very grateful for your lovely comment 💖 yes I always used to put too many pages in my signatures you can still have lots of pages. You just need to spread them out . We are all forever learning new stuff and remembering stuff that we used to know 😁xx
I’d love to see what you do with the book next, I just removed the pages from a readers digest to make my 1st junk journal I have found your page just in time
This was very interesting to watch. I love your page selection and can't help but wonder what you'll do to them to make journaling possible on pages that are printed. Looking forward to more. Thanks!
Carol: nice job,- but a little bit different from what I have seen before. It seems the way you do it is a lot easier tying the knots outside on the spine. I think I might try it your way. Good looking color combo/pattern design for a journal. Carol from California
Thank you Carol, I’m glad you liked The way I put the signatures in Give it a go ! It was just luck that I had that blue fabric. It just went perfectly.😁
