Love the details that you show and explain. I think your videos are THE most comprehensive instructional mod videos. The whole quality of production is just top level.
I love the Invicta Pro Diver. It is a beautiful watch. It is well made, it keeps great time(I put in on my time grapher). You don’t have to worry about it being damaged or stolen. If you can come down off of the status pedestal for a moment you will appreciate this watch. Respectfully
I like your cut, you're a top hand CG.You should keep working hard at what has the potential to be the best horology related channel on YT. Hope you get there and best wishes.
An easy way of removing those marks and divots is to take a marker and colour the whole surface. Then take a fine sandpaper and make a few strokes over the surface. The color will come off across the surface except in the low spots, which become clearly visible. The opposite is also true - after a few strokes any small area that is clear while the area around it is still colored is obviously a high spot and need to be worked on. This was a trick taught to me by my grandfather, who worked several years as a machinist for Allis-Chalmers.
so much work, it makes you appreciate all the had work that goes into a good watch, that what makes me love watchmaking. I like the history of watchmaking but I like the craftsmanship more, it's blows my mind to see so many little pieces that have so much beautiful details and how much love that been put in to it it amazing. keep up a good work
Great instructional video CG. After watching the first one, I see I need some tools. Like you said patience is key in the metal removal process. You can't put metal back!
Very satisfying to see ..question though: why not just go down through finer grades (eg. 400 grit, 800, 1200) with the Dremel before moving onto the final polish?
Nice work. I really think you are doing very professional videos with an amazing content. What I cannot understand is how some channels with a vain content grow so fast. Anyway, keep up the good work. cheers
Episode 2 of this mini-series definitely didn't disappoint! I laughed 😆 I cried 😭 I gritted my teeth 😁 during the whole thing! What a 🎢 ride of the emotions! The suspense for the finalé is killing me! 😱 But on a more serious note: how long do you think it took you from start to finish - not including breaks to feed the boys - to get rid of the INVICTA text on the case and repolish it? You did an AWESOME job of it!! 👌🏻
LOL!! Your comments are quickly become my favorite! From start to finish with the case, if I subtract mommy duties squeezed in between I would say it takes about 1.5 hours to 2 hours of tender love and care. I would also recommend some bengay and heating pads for your back and neck when it's all said and done! LOL
+CG AWC Channel I'm glad you got a chuckle lol Thanks for the time estimate. That's not bad for such a delicate, labor intensive job! But the results speak for themselves! And thanks for the smart advice about stocking up on muscle/pain relief products before tackling the job. 👍🏻👍🏻
Will a dremmel tool from Amazon be sufficient for this job? I've seen some listed for under $50 USD, and I don't want to spend too much on a tool which im notbsure how often I'll use. Thoughts?
Maybe you could cut pieces from a silicone hot pad for the kitchen to hold the case in the vise. Also, using a short piece of wood dowel rod to wrap the sandpaper around might make it easier on your fingers. No matter, you've done a nifty job.
Great job CG - I'm a watch noob, seems odd to me Invicta watches are good enough to Mod, but not a "popular" watch. Anyway great job as usual. Image modding my Puma's into Nike's !! :o)
I forwarded to find out what polishing wheel used and accidentaly jumped to 6:40 " Because the kids are around, I would be able to pull out in a hurry".... I was like... wait ...what?
Does anyone know if the INVICTA on the front can be removed with a solvent? It is a beautiful watch but I'd prefer it didn't have a big INVICTA on the front. To create a little mystique, and it would look better, IMO.
I sure can break that down...there are really two break downs. One for the tools (which is a one time thing obviously, and for one mod, you can get by without some of them) and then another price break down for the actual watch parts installed on the watch. I'll get you both break downs.

Lol....I apologize sir! It was indeed the vintage citizen 😉. I will route this through human resources immediately! 😜 also I'll be shooting you an email back soon.
i noticed on the finished product, you should have sanded down both sides of the watch case instead because now your watch has uneven lugs, the lugs on the side you sanded the invicta logo off are thinner, that would bug the crap out of me @cg
Very Bad Advice Dude. You totally destroy the watch value by removing the brand name and sanding it out. That is the worst advice you could give to anyone. There is not any beauty to ruin the watch. If the watch has scratches, you polish tthe scratcheches out. You don't grind the watch. You are totally misleading people and the collector community with your crazy video.
May I say how impressed I am at the quality of your videos. Really 1st Class. Clear, methodical and thorough. Brilliant.

When you put a cheap sub homage case back on these it knocks a lot of thickness from it. Wears a lot better with it.

It really is an incredible thing with such a beautiful history of craftsmanship!
Great instructional video CG. After watching the first one, I see I need some tools. Like you said patience is key in the metal removal process. You can't put metal back!
It really is all about patience...which can be the hardest part! lol
Awesome job! Great tip about the styrofoam and the case heating up!
Thanks John! Some things you just pick up along the way.
Can you remove the engraving without taking the case back off and removing the movement?
Great job, CG, really enjoying these videos! Keep up the good work! Love it.
Best as always, Stephen
Thank you Stephen!

My pleasure Aart, thanks for checking out the series.

Hi. Thanks for the Video. I have a problem to choose wright size Dial for my Invicta IN-35705 Pro Diver 36mm , Can you advise what size would fit?
Good job! And great video CG! Almost makes me want to go out and buy an Invicta and tear it apart. Haha!
LOL...thanks Mike! You should go for it! 😋😋

No, and in fact I don't even remember making this post, lol.
@@chrislj2890 oh okay lol I might have to give it a try. Either way Good idea
Hi there, I cannot afford a rotary tool, can I sand from hand to achive it?
Yes of course
Wooow lindos videos mi amiga. Tengo una pequeña colección de Grand Divers de invicta. Dios te bendiga
Great job CG - I'm a watch noob, seems odd to me Invicta watches are good enough to Mod, but not a "popular" watch. Anyway great job as usual. Image modding my Puma's into Nike's !! :o)
lol...thanks Vince! Invicta has some great deal watches, but most are a bit over the top, which is the image that has stuck.
I do not own a watch so why was this so interesting?
I try remove bezel but destroyed metal part how model its compatibile for invicta prodiver 42 MM
Really impressed CG. Great job:)
Why thank you! 😊😊😉
Can I do the same for the logo on my gold band?
Do you have to take the movement out?
Love your channel👍👍👍👍👍
Awesome work!
Thanks Andrew!

+CG AWC Channel your next mod should be with the seiko 5 ..fifty five fathoms ...my request 🙂
+indar1399 M you must be psychic! That is my next mod, I'm waiting on the parts 😄😄
+CG AWC Channel Cool, hope you'd do a mod series on that too ..there's no FFF mod video in youtube.
+indar1399 M I like being the first 😉
How can the invicta branding be removed from the crystal or glass?
There's no branding on the crystal?
Nice 1 ! Could you let me know how much you paid for all accessories needed for that mod ?
I sure can break that down...there are really two break downs. One for the tools (which is a one time thing obviously, and for one mod, you can get by without some of them) and then another price break down for the actual watch parts installed on the watch. I'll get you both break downs.

The only way to get rid of it is to sand it down. It's a lot of work, but it will look like it came that way when you're done with it.
You can just take the whole case, as is, put it in a vice and grind that shit out. Then some polishing. You will just have more chance of stuffing something else up or struggle to get a perfect finish.

I have a serious complaint I would like to raise with management. You didn't do a WWC! 😝 I think it's your vintage Citizen?

CG AWC Channel loving the series
+nav san thank you Nav! I just finished my mod of the Seiko SNZH53...have to make that video.
+CG AWC Channel In a word kickstarter. Get yourself on there.
+nav san it's not a bad idea....
Nice work but what’s the point of buying an Invicta only to remove its Branding. 😂😂😂
i noticed on the finished product, you should have sanded down both sides of the watch case instead because now your watch has uneven lugs, the lugs on the side you sanded the invicta logo off are thinner, that would bug the crap out of me @cg
Thanks One on One! I'll measure them and see the difference, I haven't noticed it when I'm wearing it, but it will be an easy enough fix.
Why mess up a perfectly good watch with this senseless BS? I would pay more to NOT have this f@$?ing branding on the side.
Invicta pro divers are less than $80 on Amazon- there is no way the resale value would ever increase.
😂 what are you talking about? These watches are $50 and don't hold any collector value.
