Couldn't agree more, you cannot learn the craft of tattooing from a video as simple as that. In my apprenticeship, a few years back, i was constantly absorbing info from YT on how to line, how to shade etc, the vast majority was a waste of time. Only through proper hands on guidance did i fully understand the fundamentals.
I for one am grateful you take the time to create free content for us all to view and enjoy. I personally take more from great artists approach to a situation and the final application than i ever did watching 100s of hours how to content.

This is my stance on the subject too! I definitely think there’s space to grow as an artists by absorbing information via UA-cam and the like

Could you be more detailed? I find it easier to get the dots when my voltage. Maybe it’s a problem with your ink flow?

@@jasonjamessmithart well, its pretty much it, it's when i try to do the stipple shading, some areas of the body i find quite hard to do it right.

Thats a shame. Im one of those people but I do agree on the hygiene or a start to finish tutorial but surely the techniques are just another perspective to share. I'm a hands on learner with anything. But watching people tattoo and been able ask questions just doesn't work for me and I've done it. Because tattooists all work very differently. I'd just like you to maybe share some technique of how you do your style. Even if it's in fake skin. Still appreciate all your other content if this never happens man. 👍

See that’s where you can learn. Put it this way, I’m not going to give a straight start to end run of exactly how I’m making a piece I.e ‘step 1, step 2, step 3’ and so on. Technique is different, I can show that in chunks if in my eyes it’s something that’ll help already established or amateur artists try something new if they all ready understand the basics etc. as for watching and asking questions, to be taught 90% of the time you should be led, You shouldn’t have to just rely on watching and asking questions (although personally I think that’s really important). So maybe you just haven’t found the right person to teach you yet man. Thanks for the comment anyways, I hope you can still take something from my channel even if you learn elsewhere 🙌

@jasonjamessmithart the first time I ever tried 3rl stippling or what ever you wanna call it I just new that was something I'm naturally good at just watching vids on youtube instagram it just all made sense compared to your standard doing ya line work n then shading ect my.mentor was doing. Even more so I love how it looks and gives me satisfaction of creating something estheticly pleasing to my eye not to mention its stress free I don't feel like I'm.causing skin much trauma and can push the art so much more. I saw your work and though man this guy executes this so so well . How does he do it so uniquely and the contast is so , deeper n darker. And I know you use mags as well. I respect what your saying though man. I guess you probably didn't build this style watching youtube. And thanks for replying to me.

100% agree, not only that, but a lot of these people who want to be tattooists have no fundamentals of shapes, lighting, colour theory etc, they do an online course, open a shop and do nothing but fineline or really poorly done work. Its drowning the industry. My apprenticeship took me a long time to get, I worked my ass off and it makes me more grateful to my mentor for teaching me the RIGHT way. Love the content dude, do you have an insta?
