  • Guest Brooks Ann Camper shares the story of how she went from not knowing how to take a stitch or use an iron, to becoming a costume production professional and, now, to teaching a new and empowering approach to sewing.
If you’ve struggled with fitting your unique figure, and found that standardized commercial patterns don’t work for you, listen in to learn about Brooks Ann’s novel method of fitting and sewing. You’ll bypass the usual measuring and pattern adjustments and focus instead on creating custom pattern blocks. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced sewist, you’ll enjoy hearing about Brooks Ann’s joyful, “people first” pathway to making your own clothes.

Hi this video is exactly what I'm teaching myself to make my own patterns. I'm 5'10 and always had problems with clothing that fit. Patternmaking is the best thing for me because I love clothes and to actually make clothes that will ft my body is awesome. Thiank so much for this video.

I need to know MORE! I hate using a commercial pattern (despite having an entire file cabinet of them) and I want to know what the basic steps to her process are.
