- Lets teardown the Pixel 2. In this video I will take apart the Pixel 2, the lastest flagship released from Google this fall (2017) and show how the scree is removed, as well as the google pixel battery. Fix your Pixel yourself with parts and a free guide from iFixit!: ifix.gd/2zN2JpI Its surprisingly easy. The most interesting thing... is what covers the charging port. This video shows the disassembly of the pixel 2, as well as how to put the phone back together. If you want to see how to open and how to take apart a pixel 2, this is the video to watch.

That time when Zack flawlessly removes the display from the Pixel 2 and the iFixit engineers shatter it and docks it repairability points for their incompetence.
Mike Trieu, they need to look at this video lol
Then again they shattered the screen on the pixel 2 xl
If it really requires that much effort to remove, don't you think it's logical to decrease the points?
Had them repair mine for water damage that casued the screen to not respond to my finger. Got it back and squeeze function wasn't working which was their bad as it was prior to getting "fixed"
Gokul Balram nah
My 'Liked Videos' playlist will be full of JerryRigEverything.
He always makes me thumbs up...
Make you thumbs up in ???
stfu
Yea, my smartphone notification sound is he saying "little lego" 😁
Mine have 5,000 videos... It's full
Eni Ien Little lego
Can you record yourself reading books or something pls
Nice; I concur.
Omg yes his voice is 👌😍
Just queue up all his videos as a play list, and you'll be in ASMR heaven. he-he
I need this guy to narrate my life to make it better
Zach is the Morgan Freeman for tech
never repaired a phone. Still enjoying your videos.
Its like ASMR to me
*They'll unsnap like little Legos*
Thank you for this teardown, and it's extremely helpful for those of us who enjoy modifications, repairs, and otherwise understanding how it all works.
I have been watching your videos since I came across your durability test for One Plus 3. As always, you do an amazing job with this tear down and your videos. They are all awesome. Good job Jerry. Well done!!! Thanks mate. Cheers
Remember myself coming onto your channel for small little things, you have helped me with alot and i respect you. There was a point in time where you started off with just a few thousand. I come back to find you with a million. Love it, thanks for everything.
*you are the best hardware guy*
Extreme Apple fanboy Extreme Apple fanboy Why unfortunelly?
XreyBG he's joking
opening a phone makes someone "best hardware guy" ??? interesting point of view
Extreme Apple fanboy Extreme Apple fanboy He makes fun of everything that is not practical or doesn't make sense in phones. Personally I liked how he roasted Apple every time for the headphone jack
ISHAN KHANDELWAL agree
All i see is bunch of extra space for headphone jack...
R. Batinic nice joke
Care to point it out?
Let me say this: You need:
1. Space for the actual 3.5mm jack
2. Space for a larger motherboard. (Headphone jacks aren't magic)
3. Space to isolate the headphone jack from interference.
R. Batinic even if there was, there isn't a "bunch of extra space". And it's noted that Google removed it before they had a huge following so it wouldn't be as hard of a blow since everyone will remove them eventually.
wasn't it a joke?
El Grando Smokio Was there a point to that?
Way smaller phone had fewer features... A LOT FEWER.... and was a lot thicker. Thus, leaving a ton of room for proper motherboard and 3.55mm port.
👍 great teardown and yes Google has a well designed phone inside and out. 🤳
Inside not outside
I hate how the camera and flash are reversed. Looks awkward
All phones should have this "easy to replace screen" design, which is very similar to the Samsung "J" series where the screen comes off from the front (or even iPoop screens). lol
Couldn't agree more switched from 5s to pixel 2 going to wait for the five and just replace screen
Thanks
I wish these videos existed when i was a kid... You have no idea how many things i broke taking apart out of curiosity. I used to get in trouble for it.
Broke a couple things simply by not paying close enough attention how it went together and couldn't get it back together correctly. Couple more things were broken by paper-thin ribbon cables that tore when coming apart. (this was from like ages 7-13)
These videos would have (and do today) satisfied my curiosity and i never would have taken any of that stuff apart. But this was in the early-mid 90's and there was no such thing as UA-cam...
Cody M if u were smart u wouldn't have broken it
Me too
Cody M haha same here
Why did we need to remember the little guy because you definitely forgot it?
best comment,
you made my day
Jerry do you have any Lego beside phone ?
Always!: ua-cam.com/video/qMrOH-UyicA/v-deo.html
he did a really good job taking the screen off. i work on those everyday and i know it is not an easy job. props Jerry!
Thanks! I used this guide to replace the battery and screen of my old broken Pixel 2, I spent around 80 dollars in the screen and battery replacement parts then I did the job my self and now it feels like a brand new phone!
3:02 *Sensational*
Dirty mind
ironic much ?
It looks like nut. I guess quality counts.
The phone is already wet *lenny face inserted
**CLICK** *NOICE*
How could people dislike this peice of art??°^°
I usualy like before watching zacks videos x)
Zack,
You seem to be my go to guy, as soon as it's bed time I jump on UA-cam and see if after a few days you have released something new, if not I just drop right down your list to remind me of a slightly younger version of you haha good stuff ! Thanks for all you do there's something satisfying about your vids!
Insane that all of this tech goes into such a small device. Great video!!
I like it, I just heard: home button at 5:03 :D
Wasn't falling asleep but now ur voice will do the work after watching 😁
A A So ASMR?
U should now know that I am asleep 😂😂
Once again another nice teardown Jerry. This midframe looks to be quite unusual but must help to keep in place all the inside components.
Your audio always sounds absolutely amazing
*Pixel 2 Looks Beautiful From Inside.*
😂😂😂😂
Wubba Lubba Dub Dub Wow, I think he did.
Yeah I have to say Google's polish and care was really showing there, I very rarely hear this dude get impressed during these.
It's cuz they painted the board black like the iPhone. The 2 XL leaves it unpainted for some reason.
No it does not.
It looks like Google recycled every part and squeezed them together inside. It’s ugly.
Not sure if you ever check back on the comments on old videos, but I just wanted to say thanks. I used this as well as the ifixit guide to help with a battery replacement. Not only are your videos entertaining, but super helpful in prolonging the life of our electronics. Thanks for all you do!
I watched the whole video. It was nicely done. You really don't allow any dead air within the voice over...
I love the tear down I will probably watch and like 50 times I am serious.fantastic job.
i dont need a heat-gun, all i need is to tern on my phone for half a minute and im good to go.
Best operation explain by you
This is an excellent video. Your voice is so great for this too- almost meditative in nature.
Good work!
So good at presenting everything! Best Hardware UA-camr ever! Cheers Zack
Do the Pixel 2 XL please
It's pretty much the same dumbass
Insultez Moi lmao it was made by an entirely different company (LG) dumbass.
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Insultez Moi No, it was made by LG, should be fairly different
Fuck I'm a dumbass
“Remember this silver grounding”
**not mentioned once during reassembly**
Another solid teardown... Keep it up, brother...
Definitely the best video on UA-cam for working on your phone
Your videos are always amazing 🔥👌
You forgot to place the silver ribbon underneath the camera @ 1:45 before putting the screen back on.
In the end of the video, I understood why you told us so many times not to forget the silver-adhesive-ground :D
Keep it up dude!
congrats on trending Zack, you deserve it
Hi hitman agent 47
marimba remixes LMAO SO TRUE

His name is Zack :)
You forgot to put the flap from 1:47 back!
he said top and top left so he did put it back, just saying.
I don't understand much about small electronics, but I just love to listen to your voice :D
I am Addicted to your videos
I got to know about your channel last week and i have watched all your videos till now .
Waiting for Iphone X video now
Manufactured by htc. R8?
I'd say 7/10.
Yes, Pixel 2 is manufactured by HTC and Pixel 2 XL is manufactured by LG
InAnimated Lol, It is what it is.. 😅
Raihan Patel both are manufactured by Google.
TraceguyRune Google had no hardware team to make smartphone.. So they always needed other companies to make phones for them.. It is been the case since nexus era as well. Pixel 3 will be manufactured by google tho. Cause Google recently bought Pixel section of HTC.
Good job agent 47 👍
Muhammad Talha his name is actually Tobias reaper
love everything about this video
Omg! This video is trending! Nice job! I love it.
Early squad where u at
Who always likes before watching?
Congratulations, best teardown always. Thanks
It's so neat from inside, not at all complicated function easy to identify internal parts of the phone...all in all it's a good phone ...
..make sure to tap that like button... just like a little lego
Totally clear Pixel 2???
I wish...
OMG THANK YOU SO MUCH. YOU TOLD ME THE CABLE WAS FOR GROUNDING THE THINGY AT THE START. IT FIXED MY LAPTOP!!!
I went and showed my support to whats inside being a loyal fan to your Channel.
Galaxy S8 vs Pixel 2..Thoughts?
S8 Hardware with Pixel 2 Software
HAHAHA never ever
Huawei P10
I'm writing this one a note 5. I also own 3 other Galaxy phones.
I want the smoothest fastest NON lag Android experience and for that, it's gotta be a Pixel/Nexus.
But don't worry, there will be DRONES of SAMSUNG fans to tell you their shit don't lag...
Yeah..fawk that just wait 6 months lol
OnePlus 5
Mr Zack I am here to hear your voice Only :) and to know about Nokia devices #TeamNokia
Nokia ❤
a team requires more than one person
Noah Hale Is 2 enough for a team? #TeamNokia
Make that 3! #TeamNokia
4 #TeamNokia (but with android) still waiting for the nokia 8 teardown, want to know what the graphite shield is about
Very smooth teardown video man. Thumbs up from me
Great video once again Zack 👍🏽
How was it kinda cool?
Because it easy to make replacement if some hardware are broken, look at the screen, just open it infront, unlike other flagship, if the screen crack, you need to open it from the back.
Do durability test for xiaomi mi a1 pleasssssssssse
Nanju Kt fuck off mi user.
i have note 8
and pixel 2 right now
poor Indian guys
Archit Kaushik How are you sure
nightmare in action nighmare in action because verma is Indian caste.
Jerry, you're amazing! Love your channel. Keep up the good work. Cheers from Stockholm
Hey I have pixel burn ins in my s7edge. The faint shadow of the messenger logo and a rectangle is always showing. How do you fix this?
Clear pixel 2 ........like if you agree
Take a potato chip and eat it, take a display and break it
Felt really good looking at the teardown..
I don't even have a pixel 2, I just like watching you take stuff apart
Today i wonder why u keep saying connectors are like little legos since legos are already little
junilog these are smaller than Lego. Hence "little Lego"
As good as new...
...mostly.
Love your subtle humor haha. Great informative videos!
I just love the puns (Maybe not intended but pure gold) *It still felt incredibly tight*
You didnt take a look at the secret chip which would activate after the 8.1 update..
Gulam Mohiddin I was also hoping he would highlight this
What secret chip?
Doctor Google has made a secret chip on pixel 2. Secret coz Google didn't reveal it during the launch for unknown reasons..
Its called Pixel Visual Core. Its an octa core processor for better performance for processing/capturing hdr+ images.. the chip will be made use of after the planned 8.1 android update..
Gulam Mohiddin oh wow. Does anyone know it's purpose yet?
Doctor i don't think everyone knows about it.
I hope people make jerry-proof phones😂😂
All these tear down videos are the same but yet I can’t stop watching them. Dude has the best voice
Congrats for 1M subscribers!
Nice reference - It will unsnap like Lego.
Next up is to do a Lego Phone teardown!
HomeAutomationX nah
Its nothing new and you comment pretty frequently on this channel so why did you post this comment other than fishing likes and subscribers?
He says it in all of his teardown videos
You are here again
You would think that some muscular guy like this would be lifting weights rather than play around with technology.
Party on...
How about both? ;-)
Kind of a bad stareotype don't you think. A guy can do anything heck if a gut wants to be a hair dresser or someone who does nails or some other job people see as girly jobs than that's fine even if they look muscular.
JerrtRigEverything.... *you're channel is awesome*
Hey “Jerry” keep up the good teardown videos. I love these 😂 can you do an Apple Watch series 3 tear down?
I just finished our project and just saw the notification I immediately click it.... likes for me?
TechRax has subscribe to jerryrigeverything, what does this mean🤔🤔😂😂😂 Zack you have to reply....😂😂
Jerry.. very nice and one of the best and usefull stuff ... thanks buddy.. welcome and hope and waiting like these stuff .. thanks from India.
I work as a technician repairing phones and now watching this video everything seems so simple.
Damn man your voice.......
Google phones are cheaply made like Apple
marsh 10 You can insult iPhones in many ways, but you can’t say they’re cheaply made.
Iphones are better made than the pixel 2, the drop test on phonebuffs channel proves it
What are the black and white signal wires for? My laptop screen clamshell chassis also had something like these and I’m not sure what they’re for.
I did so, but only the front glass came off. The screen itself stayed down on the phone. Of course the screen then shattered when I tried to remove it. What did I do wrong?
Glad to know that it has good repairablity coz Google knows that durability is not on par with competition so there are more chances of repairing 😂😂 seriously they think about their employees 🤣
when soft developer made hardware then hardware turned into softhardware :P :P
so you're saying when a phone is hard to repair its more durable? how dumb are you?
Joaquim Thomas obviously....if something is tough to repair, means it's fully sealed and supported by frame to withstand stress and pressure. Also it means that device is completely packed to utilize space. Pixel2's space is not utilised optimally that's why they removed 3.5 jack and not included wireless charging, dual camera & microsd
Just a short thing about google phones reliability. My 2015 Nexus 6p is still up to date working flawlessly and survived dozens of drops on stone or tiles. And it also never bended in tight jeans. And this was a phone where Jerry said it was awful in durability. So I guess before judging these phones, let`s see what they are capable of
gamerforever all i know is that they arent capable of playing audio thru aux and it has no wireless charging. 😂

I am confused. I don't see a speaker assembly near the top of the phone. So how does the phone make sound come out on the top speaker grill.
Now the production companies should pay attention to the inside of their phones as well not only the outside, we can see it. Great stuff, helping a lot to choose the right phone. Thank you
