- Before I start on the exterior I realise that in order to do that I need to finish off the ceiling and some other details on the interior.
Check out the previous videos for how I created the architraves and crown moulding.
I don't think the first oxide sponging was redundant at all Gina, it subtly changed the tone of the copper and added to the depth
Thank you, I think it's my default to paint the first layer that you don't really see that much, but you are right, it does add subtle depth to the project.
@@GinasMiniatureStudio there you go, don't doubt yourself and your experience 😉
Brilliant video! Thank you Gina for introducing the embossing folder. Have just ordered one after your demo. I have been looking for a pressed tin look in wallpaper but this is so much better. Love the rich colours you use and the sponging to build up colour and depth. I can relate to the dilemma of whether to work on interior or exterior at any one time.
Hi Coby, you are most welcome and I am glad that you can also find a use for the folder. I have to thank my mum for the idea of putting the paper in behind the foil to help hold it's shape, and it really does work. Good luck with your project, please share, I would love to see how you have put this technique to use.
Hi Gina, loved your video. I have been trying to find an embossed folder to do the pressed ceiling for my project but could not find one that suited on Temu. Your embossed folder was exactly what I wanted. Can you please tell me where you purchased it from. Thank you. Cheers Robyn ❤
Hi Robyn, I think I got it from Amazon, I found a link so you can see the name, details etc, but it doesn’t look like it’s available? www.amazon.com/Spellbinders-SES-006-Circles-Diamonds-Embossing/dp/B01C2Y988G
Sorry that’s probably not much help but the spellbinders brand have a few geometric shapes and may have an alternative.
Hi Gina, where did you get the lamps and Chandeliers?
Hi Rocio, I got those from AliExpress although the chandeliers came a bit squashed and they unfortunately don't work, but the still look good.
Beautifully done!!!!
I can’t wait to see future progress!!!
Thank you Cerise, I am glad you are enjoying the progress updates.
@@GinasMiniatureStudio you are welcome! I’m definitely enjoying the updates and projects on your channel!
I have been thinking about using the embossing folders to do something like this, I have been collecting embossing folders for my polymer clay projects. I have in my stash a very thin sheet of copper which I found in a second hand shop years ago, the picture is okay but has been damaged where it had been folded when I found it. I am looking to use it in a book nook as it has a really nice patina on it.
The rooms look great thank you for sharing 🤗🤗
Hi Angela, the copper sounds very interesting, as you can tell I am a big fan of copper 🙂 I am glad that this technique has inspired you to use some of your folders in a new way and I had not thought about using them with polymer clay, so thank you 😀
Texturized craft papers work well as ceilings, too. I even used a couple of sheets as the copper roof on a dollhouse porch. The paper was white when I bought it, but copper spray paint cured that!
Thanks for the tip, it was what I was looking for originally but couldn't find anything small enough locally, so I improvised :-) The spray paint would have been a lot quicker and kept more of the detail.
Amazing I love the lighting you chose. Ceiling does not look like foil.
Hi Lucy, the lighting turned out way better than I thought, yay! I have done this ceiling technique before on another project but never filmed it. At the time I was super impressed with the result and so I had to share this time around.
@@GinasMiniatureStudio I’m glad you did. Good info you never know I may need to do that someday...
I’m probably one of your biggest fans. I think all that you do is impressive! I appreciate that you share your journey with me.
