I really like the heat gun method that you used.
That made me think of something though. I may wait to take the paper off my letters until I paint the background. That way no paint will even get on the letters

So the stain still holds even after the wood has been sealed with lacquer? I want to do a paint+stain sign but can’t find much info. This one looks nice!

thanks, the Lacquer work cause I was using spray paint and where I stained it was sanded down, was a bit tricky but held up nicely
