Started reading Dostoyevsky in my mid 20s, really didn’t have much impact on me. Read Brothers Karamazov at age 37, brought tears to my eyes. Truly a life changing author.

This is extraordinary. I’ve been reading Dostoevsky Solzhenitsyn and Tolstoy since childhood, my mother was obsessed with Russian history and a staunch anti communist. I’ve struggled for years to truly understand Dostoevsky and all the circumstances leading to the Russian Revolution, World War1 and World War2 and the tragic consequences of all these events. Thank you for this clear and concise history and narrative
