It's very hard to get demoted in this game. The biggest penalty for a loss is capped at 40 points. In 5 you could lose 80+ if the opponent was one tier below you (IE, you are on plat and lose to an ultra gold player).

We can all have a bad ranking session, it happens to every human, where we don't gain or even lose ranks and maybe we ragequit in frustration. My advise is not to dwell in the negative feelings and avoid tilting (trying to get back the rank as soon as possible). Take a break; next day, get back into training mode, try out your combos or whatever you need to sharpen your reflexes and THEN get back into Ranked Mode!

Yeah, that's what everyone who streams does. It's how they make money, so games are a business expense. They can also write off a portion of their electric bill based off their homes square footage/square footage of the work room/time working/total monthly bill.

P.S. Just a friendly advise! We can all have a bad ranking session, it happens to every human, where we don't gain or even lose ranks and maybe we ragequit in frustration. My advise is not to dwell in the negative feelings and avoid tilting (trying to get back the rank as soon as possible). Take a break; next day, get back into training mode, try out your combos or whatever you need to sharpen your reflexes and THEN get back into Ranked Mode!
