Love the unique Pioneer Class and the historical story behind it using Beta canon sources and your own imagination to fill in the gaps. Star Trek Online has some of the best ships designed by fans.
One of the better looking kitbashes of original Constitution components. I also like how it has traits of both the cage and Kirk era Enterprises. Bigger deflector dish, lit Bussards, and spires on the nacelles.
I seem to remember this ship from the space museum scene. I love ships like this because they're not glamorous, they're the ships that helped build and maintain the federation:).
I'm glad the employees who work on Star Trek are glad to talk to fan community members and answer questions like this---it's that kind of willingness that helps give companies good reputations with fandoms!
I'm still playing STO and have been since week one. One of my alts have a Pioneer Class. Yet even on the space Oregon Trail missions people died of dysentery, Strange how that worked out like on Earth. Great video and story the put out of misery comment I loved I call it the Ole Yellow Treatment myself. Nerd Approved!!
🖖😎👍Very cool and very nicely well done and executed and informatively explained in every detail way shape and form possibly provided to you on this class of Starship indeed!,👌.
I'll admit that The TOS designs never peaked my interest but the Pioneer Class has really grown on me. To bad I can't use it past a certain level in STO. My #1 favorite star trek ship of all time has to be the Malachowski Class Starship. But the Pioneer is definitely on my favorite of all time list.
The Pioneer Class is prolly my favorite thing to come out of Star Trek Online. I just love its design, it's a bit more than just a saucer with pylons and feels like it woud fit so well in the TOS era. And I feel like, if I was a member of Starfleet, a calm background starship class like the Pioneer would be my preferred stationing.
I love the fact that they are taking ships from Star Trek online and making them a part of Canon. I love playing that game. There are so many ships you can get and things to do.
I love Star Trek: Online, especially for the starship designs... But I do think we're in a special age of Trek, where Kurtzman and his Production Teams are taking Important Things from Beta Canon and making them official canon, something rarely done during the TOS, TMP, TNG and ENT eras! Kurtzman is doing such a fantastic job!
I can't see Starfleet plonking down the metaphorical cash to massively refit a ship like this (as much as I like it). At least not to the expensive "basically completely torn apart and rebuilt" extent of the Constitution Refit. Instead what I'd love to see is giving it a "Phase II" style refit with Phase II style nacelles and some other minor external updates. Thats all a workhorse like this needs really to go another few decades.
The Pioneer Class is a nice little ship I'm still waiting for it to be a t6 ship that would be great the discovery starter ship got a t6 version why not the tos player aside from that rambling love the video
You've covered a few TOS ships lately and it's been great. It's a nice-looking ship that really compliments the style of Constitution. It's lore fits too, being capable for a condensed ship. What I like most about these designs is that they would fit perfectly into TOS. It's more than using the same saucer and nacelles. They have a stripped-down design philosophy and look like tangible models rather than CG models. I hope that that is taken as the compliment that it is meant as.
Love this ship. Very kitbash, very Nebula to the Connie's Galaxy. Shame I don't get to see the TMP aesthetic given to it. TOS is fav, but TMP aesthetic is a close second.
I’d like to know what’s up with the Klingon battlecruiser in the fleet museum? The bird-of-prey, I presume, is the one Kirk used to transport George and Gracie back to Earth so the whale probe would leave us alone, so that makes sense.
@@TriAngulumAudioStudios - those two show up in all the videos that feature the Fleet museum on this channel. Why is there a D7 (or K’Tinga) class battlecruiser here amongst Starfleet ships?
Again, not sure what that really has to do with this video on the Pioneer Class, as the Fleet Museum is a different Kettle of Tribbles and has it's own set of videos... AND as said in those videos, the final part, when released, will be about those ships...
With a name like "Pioneer", and its powerful engines, I would balk at the idea that it was only originally intended for core worlds use. While not a true deep space explorer, I would think that it would be meant for checking in on outer colonies and newer colonies and outposts and 'space lanes' often on the frontier. This would help free the Connies from those duties--duties that based on TOS episodes, they performed more often than purely exploring.
>STO >shining beacon of Star Trek fun >have character at average height >all hallways/corridors/environments are scaled to the tallest possible character height >Defiant-class corridors are therefore CAVERNOUS and the bridge can house a full orchestra >only have access to ship "rooms," not complete interiors Yeah, no, it's not a "fun" game.
Im a firm believer in everyone being entitled to their own opinion, any if you don't enjoy Star Trek: Online, fine, but your reasons behind it is just silly. Saying what you said is like saying "I didnt like the taste of the Roast I had at the restaurant last night because the Napkin was too big." Star Trek: Online is SO much more then a characters height, and you know that. Thus I stand behind what I said, and would continue to encourage ALL Trek fans to ignore this comment and try the game for themselves! It really is a shining beacon of Star Trek Fun! :)
If the Constitution was the jewel, the Miranda the right hand, then the Pioneer would be the left hand, if one of the Connies or Miranda was nearby, you could bet a Pioneer was around the next moon.
the comment about "the USS Pioneer not being taken around the back of Starbase 1 and put out of it's misery" had me in tears laughing
LOl Thanks
OMG same.
Me too! 😂
Love the simple and elegant stile of 23rd century Starships
You and me both :)
This class of starship has really grown on me. I’m glad it’s now part of Star Trek canon.
I love it!
Love the unique Pioneer Class and the historical story behind it using Beta canon sources and your own imagination to fill in the gaps. Star Trek Online has some of the best ships designed by fans.
The Pioneer, Ranger and Matsumoto class seems to be part of the same design family.
Absolutely Eric! Couldnt agree more :)

I love it when Thomas Marone's talent is mentioned!
As for more videos, let's see more from within AND Without the Federation!
He is amazing!
Been waiting for this one. Love my old Pioneer, even at level 65, still have her in my fleet.
Hope you enjoyed!
One of my favorite TOS-aesthetic designs ❤

I like that we saw this ship in Star Trek Picard season 3 at the fleet Museum.

I love this mid23rd century, California class forerunner.
Thanks for another great video. 🖖🌈🤠🦄
You're very welcome :)

Very cool! And thank you again :)

STO looks really good on Series X.
Great content as always Sir 👏👏
Thanks a ton! :)
What a fun ship. Your modeling looks really sharp!
Thank you! Cheers! All I did was Retexture the model up to 4K though! The real credit goes to Ortiz and Marrone from Star Trek Online :)

You're welcome! And I can see it ;)
Great job, love the ships you cover here
Thank you very much!
I think Star Trek Online should get more love, seriously this game deserves better.
Well some of the ships from sto was made cannon

@@TriAngulumAudioStudios well, he is my least favorite writer, and show Runner of Star Trek.

I'd like to see all of these TOS ships updated to TMP status to see what they'd look like. That would be really interesting to see.

Thank you kindly! :)
@@TriAngulumAudioStudios Keep up your superior work.
Love all of the videos of the classic era starships
I was looking forward to a video on this class ((:
Tada!
One thing I wish is cryptic making a t6 version of the pioneer the only tos era ship in the game with no t6 variant
Another great video
Glad you enjoyed it! :)
I really like this design.
Me too!
I love the Pioneer Class, and would love to see an 24th century refit...
Heres hoping they finally add a t6 variant to use the pioneer class skin to star trek online
There are Rumors that Mark Hale started his career on a Pioneer Class. But that cant be since Humans dont live that long.
Good use of the constitution components 🖖
Excellent Design!
Back in the days i used to commad the pioneer class uss Ruka, named after a popular vacation place in Finland
Nice ship design
Indeed!

Would love a T6 version of this.
Make your request! :)
It sounds from the mission profile like this was a precursor of the California class.
I like to see this ship in action in combat 😊
If you haven't could you possibly do a ranger class one along with the Gemini class from Star Trek Online
ALL TOS ERA SHIPS ARE BEAUTIFUL PERIOD AND I WONT HEAR OTHERWISE!! 😅
And I wont disagree... Wait I mean; I WONT DISAGREE 😜
You make me laugh buddy...@@TriAngulumAudioStudios
Second contact that means it was the predasesor to the Cerritos California class uhh i wounder what that ships crew was like
When you state that it was “constructed by Mr. Maroni” was that physical or digital? I build plastic models. Will give credit no matter🖖🏻
The digital model for Star Trek: Online!
i like to call it the mini connie i wish they have a t6 version
