Macnamara can't act Simon is better here than the show (too much canonical pretty) only magnus and alec in the show are better. I still in 2020 like the movie so much
omg magnus and alec in the series ver are top TIER. honestly the only reason i kept watching it up until i did; the acting from series clary was too much for me 💔
I liked the show Simon though. And show Izzy is how I pictured her to be, not the movie one. And I agree, Lily and Jamie were perfect casting. Loved show Magnus (Harry) and Alec (Matthew) although Kevin has the perfect blue eyes
When I was watching the movie, I was waiting for the scene where Jace and Clary are in the train and he says how attractive he his, but it never came up and I was sorta disappointed because it was my favourite scene in the book after the one where they went through the portal and Jace fell onto of Clary when they got teleported to Luke's house. They shouldn't have deleted that scene, 0:00
I love Jamie and Lily's chemistry! I wish we could both of them in the tv show then leave all the other actors. Kat is beautiful but her clary makes me cringe. And then Dom is a great actor but just doesn't really look like how I imagined Jace.
I want to cry for not releasing another movie this is so unfair The series is absolute trash, they don't portrait the characters right and they don't even stick to the book The only reason I would watch it is because we didn't get enough Malec in the movie
I loved the movie much more than I ever did the show. The only good thing about the show is Malec, and we would've gotten more of it in the movies if they'd continued the series.
While the movie and the TV show aren't that good, the movie is far more superior. It didn't rush things and the pacing was just right in setting up the story for a sequel. The actors, especially Lily, Jamie and Robert, did an amazing job with embodying the characters. Regarding the show, the pacing is awful; they introduce aspects of the original story and throw them away within an episode or two without properly developing them. The characters are badly adapted because of the cliché dialogue and almost none of the book's iconic humour is there. Jace isn't funny, Clary just isn't Clary and some of the other characters have fallen into silly tropes. These scenes would have elevated the movie and I'm really disappointed that it never got it's sequel. The Shadowhunter fandom got lucky with two adaptations, but neither of them really lived up to the book series. A pity really. I hope TID and TDA are never touched, but if they are, it better be by someone who really knows how to respectfully and skillfully adapt it's source material.
If they would have put these in it would have made all the difference!! Felt more genuine and in a lighter tone than the movie. Don't get me wrong the movie is amazing and a million times better than the film!!
I really regret hating the movie when it came out, because the TV show is like 1000 times worse and doesn't stick to the books. Can we get another movie please? 😭😂
Ok, so the cast should be Jamie as Jace Lily as Clary Matthew as Alec Godfrey Gao as Magnus Emeraude as Izzy (i guess) Robert as Simon I don't like our Valentines (?) One is too serious, the other one is too informal I like Lena's Jocelyn With Hodge i have my doubts, i would go for the movie one tho, the other one is too young Movie's Dorothea The show's silent brothers give the creeps, so let's stick to them David castro as Raphael I'm fine with Nicola's Maryse Will Tudor, idk, i guess it's fine
I disagree with keeping the actor for Isabel. I don't know what they did to her but it seems she's whored up and her badassery toned down. Her nickname is cringy af
@@francofranco9815 I mean. She's always been a bit. Slutty for the lack of a better term, in the books as well. Like she always dressed and acted daringly and much like Jace, knew she was good looking and enjoyed exploiting it. So like slutty but not in a bad way cuz she also had standards. I'm pretty sure she was also called Izzie in the books as well by her siblings. Problem with the show imo is that it turned into fan service real quick, and that eventually turned it into the Malec show. Like they outright butchered Jem being a silent brother just for the sake of the wedding. SILENT brothers and yet he can talk whenever he wants and apparently he can also feel like a human considering he was grinning ear to ear during the wedding and also he is still a Silent Brother at the end, there is no Tessa, the Blackthorns apparently don't exist and sweet baby jesus what was the show thinking. Season 1 was absolutely horrendous, the next couple seasons got good and then by the end it went to shit again. Will Tudor's Sebastian carried the show on his back while he was the one to play Sebastian apparently.
P Crassen Brother Jeremiah is a Silent Brother that was exempted from the other rituals, it was explained on the spin off Infernal Devices (which I think would be more interesting). Also I didn't say movie Isabel isn't slutty, I was saying she's more badass and her fights look more natural than the series Izzy. They didn't kill Max too. And the tech. Oh.. the Shadowhunter Tech.. a huge facepalm when you mix futuristic science with legends and ethereal stuff and all that.

I'm not even going to give the TV series a chance I saw the cast members and the previews and that was it for me. A complete deal breaker. Completely different actors they don't even try to put in the effort to make the replacements look anywhere similar to original cast except Jace character; so sad. The books I love and the movie. The shows? No.
I wish the movie continued, I tried to watch the tv show but couldn't. Btw I'm I the only one who preferred Jace in the movie eventhough his personality was way different than that of the book.
my school library would always save me a copy of every mortal instrument book and let me keep them, they are still in great condition. ive had them for about a year
As someone who's read all the shadowhunter books i can say with ABSOLUTE certainty that the movie is MUCH better than the show. I'm sorry but it was perfect from casting to storyline, although i know that a few things were changed in the movie like the ending but they still made it quite accurate to the first book. I also adore the cast (all of them) if i'm being honest, i know that people like Matthews Alec more cause of his looks & cause they got malec but to me he didn't give off Alec like Kevins did and i really hate to say it but his acting sucked, in all 3 seasons of the show everyone improved but him. Kevin looked older than a teenager yes but his aura and acting truly made me think of Alec from the books. Part of this has also to do with the bad writing in the show cause they made both the Lightwood siblings a lot nicer with Clary than they actually were, like it took them 3 books to actually become friends and love each other but in the show they made Izzy act all cheerful besties with Clary from the very start when she wasn't anything like that and don't even get me started on the parabatai bs. I personally would have switched show Izzy with movie Izzy if Emeraude's acting was better cause she looks more accurate to Isabelle's description with the dark hair and dark eyes. What i liked about the movie actress is that she just like Kevin got the character right and was a better actress but like i said before this also is the fault of bad writing in the show. One thing the show did really well is casting Harry for the role of Magnus, he was really good and actually made me feel like i'm looking at the Magnus from the books. The rest of the cast is absolutely perfect like Simon, Hodge, Jace, Clary, Valentine, Luke, Jocelyn etc looked exactly like i imagined them to look. I remember a lot of people complaining that Valentines actor looked too hot for his character and that he didn't have silver hair but Valentine has ALWAYS been described as a handsome musculair man with a youthful face so i don't know where they got that from? I do think that they should've sticked to the silver hair but who knows they might have tried and it just looked really bad but despite that the actor absolutely killed it as the villain. It's been ten years and i'm still so upset that we won't ever get a second movie and the fact that the SAME DAMN COMPANY holds the rights to The Infernal Devices is KILLING ME! I will be taking my saltiness to my grave 💀
@@LeannaalienQueen it'll be reply instead of comment but ya I replied because I was protecting my show what about you because nobody said anything about the movie
Jamie as Jace will always be my favorite casting that exists. I think the only person I didn’t really like casted in the movie was Lily, she played an okay Clary but I would’ve liked someone else. Robert as Simon was also amazing and I’m happy to see him in The Umbrella Academy. Lena Headey would’ve been interesting to get more of, but considering she was doing Game of Thrones she probably would’ve been replaced had there been a sequel. I could not tell you the name of the man who plays Valentine but I liked him a lot more than the show version, but even the show had decent casting at some points
I always will prefer the books, BUT in my opinion the movie is better than the tv series (NOTHING against the actors or anything) but I guess the movies fits better, especially Jace and Clary appearence, in the series they look too older like adults, but here they looks like more someone in the college (a appearence more close to they being teenagers in the books and being in the high school), and also prefer the movie vibes and photograph
I kind of wish they had sold the movie rights to another production company if they couldn't afford to continue. Maybe then, we would've seen the sequels being made.
I mean yeah but we know Lily and Jamie would never do another movie together maybe Jamie would want to speaking of the fact he has not removed the tattoo of her
Everyone here is highlighting Malec from tv show. But did you realize that Malec hasn't any opportunity to happened in the movies yet? They completely threw every potential away and left us only the first part as a small introduction to what it all could be. It's so sad.
is there like a frickin bit of a possibility that we get another movie with the same cast? like, this cast is just perfect and the movie would suck if it weren't the same cast
Commenting on this video because currently I'm doing a marathon of rereading TMI,TID & TDA. When I first read The City of Bones (which is in 2011) I couldn't really picture how Jace & Clary will look like. So I did a random google search image using keywords like 'young Hollywood actor, actress, blond a bit curly, red hair, black attire'. I saw Lily and thought ok I'm gonna imagine her as Clary because I watched her acting in Abduction & she's the only one I can think of. I finish the 1st book with blur image of Jace. In 2012 I stumbled upon Florence & the Machine's song Never Let Me Go & saw Jamie. That's it! That's my Jace. From then on I kept the image of Lily & Jamie as Clary & Jace. And then the film was announced & I couldn't be more happier with the casting. When the tv series started I can only watch until ep 2. I'm just dissapointed with the potrayal except for Alec.
Okay but Jamie as Jace is perfect

Lily portrayed Clary very well too (she may not physically the same as _ou can imagine her from books but her acting wasF...g brilliant!!!! Macnamara can't act
Simon is better here than the show (too much canonical pretty) only magnus and alec in the show are better.
I still in 2020 like the movie so much
And Izzy!! Hahaa. Imagine id Daddario and Harry were in the movie as well. Damn...
omg magnus and alec in the series ver are top TIER. honestly the only reason i kept watching it up until i did; the acting from series clary was too much for me 💔
I liked the show Simon though. And show Izzy is how I pictured her to be, not the movie one. And I agree, Lily and Jamie were perfect casting. Loved show Magnus (Harry) and Alec (Matthew) although Kevin has the perfect blue eyes
*most deleted scenes are where Simon speaks a lot more*
WHY DID THEY NOT KEEP THE DAMN PART WHERE LUKE TELLS ABOUT JOCELYN AND HIS PAST
Anna Brøchner EXACTLY
Right?!
honestly, te movie's casts are better than the tv show's.
Lisa V. Most anyway. I like Alec better in the show
Agreeeed
Styler Harry agree
Amen!!
Unfortunately I can not agree with you for one reason - Harry Shum Jr.
It would have been better if they didn't delete these. Especially about Luke's story and Jace and Valentine's talk ahhhh
SueJi Bae yeah I agree about those scenes. It would have been nice to see more or Valentine and Jocelyn but I did love the movie!
Truth
yeah i feel sad why he deleted thar? :(
SueJi Bae yeah
True! They should have never deleted the most important part of the movie and the book they based on as well.
I prefer Lily Collins, Macnamara or whatever just doesn’t do it for me. All she has is the red hair.
She doesn’t even have that!😂 the hair was dyed and mostly dyed wrongly cause clary’s actual hair would be red not ORANGE
Yes! I wondered if I was the only one that noticed.
Clary in the show is just silly and I don't know if it's the script or the actress
It’s okay if you don’t like the show but don’t disrespect a actor like that she did her best it’s not her fault you didn’t like the show
Season 1 Clary left lot to be desired . In Season 2 and 3 ,she’s considerably better.
Jess Moon that was my fav part in the book too, too bad it wasnt in the movie
Wendy 23 yeah :(
Jess Moon omg I literally just read that chapter!!
I literally think about this movie all the time. I’m so offended they didn’t carry on with the rest of the movies the show is terrible.
@@kanngnaa it's just their opinion, chill.
@@kanngnaa the shows shit
@@kanngnaa the show ain’t bad it’s just they twisted so many things up from the boom
@@kanngnaa book
we were so robbed for them not continuing the series through movies with this amazing casting😭😭
So basically they cut the awkward British flirting scenes
The casting for this movie was mostly accurate and Jamie as Jace was truly perfect. This was Jace from the books brought to life. ❤️❤️
If only lily played in the tv show too
Rawan Altohami with Jamie and the whole movie cast
I love Jamie and Lily's chemistry! I wish we could both of them in the tv show then leave all the other actors. Kat is beautiful but her clary makes me cringe. And then Dom is a great actor but just doesn't really look like how I imagined Jace.
Panic! At Hogwarts you specifically commented my exact thoughts all these years.
And jamie
Meh I honestly don’t mind the cast
I want to cry for not releasing another movie this is so unfair
The series is absolute trash, they don't portrait the characters right and they don't even stick to the book
The only reason I would watch it is because we didn't get enough Malec in the movie
your comment was 5 hours ago im not alone yey lol currently mourning bc we will never get to see the rest of the books with this cast 😣😣😣
It’s literally hurts my heart knowing that another movie isn’t coming like if I had one wish it would be for another movie same cast aksmsgskksbsjsjs
Malfoy I watch the tv show mainly for Malec XD
There wasn't really much of Malec in the book but in other books there are some here and there
Same. The series is shit. They butchered the books.
it's such a shame this movie didn't work out, such a shame
I hope TID and TDA are never touched, but if they are, it better be by someone who really knows how to respectfully and skillfully adapt it's source material.
they shouldn't have cut these scenes.
I'm agree
Take the tv actors for Izzy, Alec and Magnus and combine them with the other movie actors and boom! Perfect cast
If they would have put these in it would have made all the difference!! Felt more genuine and in a lighter tone than the movie. Don't get me wrong the movie is amazing and a million times better than the film!!
megan jabsen do you mean the movie is better than the series?
megan jabsen you said the movie is better than the film ?
Jade Anonymous better than the final product
The scene explaining how Luke became a werewolf really needed including for coherence. They are all great but that one more central.
Loves these deleted scenes they are so much like the book! 😍❤️
I feel like you don’t understand what Jace is supposed to be like until you’ve read the books.
I really regret hating the movie when it came out, because the TV show is like 1000 times worse and doesn't stick to the books. Can we get another movie please? 😭😂
Ikr?
cookies77814 that's really mean. The Harry Potter movies weren't perfect either.
cookies77814 Agree and the cast😤😤 I'm not gonna watch any other Jace if it's not Jamie
The TV show has improved a lot in the 2nd series, especially the acting.
The movie is not worst but it is bad that jace is clarys brother.
😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Ok, so the cast should be
Jamie as Jace
Lily as Clary
Matthew as Alec
Godfrey Gao as Magnus
Emeraude as Izzy (i guess)
Robert as Simon
I don't like our Valentines (?) One is too serious, the other one is too informal
I like Lena's Jocelyn
With Hodge i have my doubts, i would go for the movie one tho, the other one is too young
Movie's Dorothea
The show's silent brothers give the creeps, so let's stick to them
David castro as Raphael
I'm fine with Nicola's Maryse
Will Tudor, idk, i guess it's fine
Guadalupe Pitriqueo Idk in my opinion Harry plays a better Magnus, but other than that I mainly agree with you 😂
I disagree with keeping the actor for Isabel.

It's 2024 but i still hope for a sequel. Jamie was just so damn hot. Jamie as Jace is just so perfect.
Gosh I feel so robbed not having more Lily Collins as Clary 😭
Or Jamie bowers as Jace
I'm not even going to give the TV series a chance I saw the cast members and the previews and that was it for me. A complete deal breaker. Completely different actors they don't even try to put in the effort to make the replacements look anywhere similar to original cast except Jace character; so sad. The books I love and the movie. The shows? No.
Natalie Garcia i saw the first 5 minutes and hated it so much
+Karlijn Hartog same, ugh I just wanted to cry at how pitiful it was and yet they still televised this? Sad man.
Natalie Garcia I totally agree, don't like that tv show.
Natalie Garcia AGREEEEE
they put effort into making them look like their book descriptions. they did great. I also like how Clary's hair looks more like fire in the series
Cassandra Claire is that you 2:00?
Yup
Damon Salvatore wished they'd kept that in the movie :P would've been cool
Damon Salvatore but the scene was deleted, it's not in the movie
Damon Salvatore hm, maybe I should watch it again, because I didn't see her
Damon Salvatore Okay thanks so much :)
Now, jamie bower owns my heart. Periodt
I wish the movie continued, I tried to watch the tv show but couldn't. Btw I'm I the only one who preferred Jace in the movie eventhough his personality was way different than that of the book.
Mayusa BY I loved the Jace in the movie more of what I Pictured him
I think Jamie was really good for this role
they definitely should of added lukes story
2:00 LMAO THAT’s CASSIE RIGHT THERE
this should be called: simon being adorably awkward for almost 4 minutes straight
its 2023 STILL WAITING FOR A COMEBACK
2:08 omg he's a well known german actor, I completely forgot he was Raphael in this movie! His name's Elyas M'Barek in case anyone was wondering...
I admire Jace for so much self confidence xD
This movie will always be better than the series. They should have made another movie 😩
Oml I love this movie ever since I was a kid! seeing these I feel like would have been cool
The casting is magnificent but I'll never be able to forgive the writers for the way they destroyed this beautiful story.
bro is this the vecna dude
That’s what I was wondering it is 😂
@@cuteeditzzx5436 haha
@@airyanamoschella2753 it is

He was the best Jace for me 😭
2019 and I'm still upset this series never finished!!😤😩😩😪😪
my school library would always save me a copy of every mortal instrument book and let me keep them, they are still in great condition. ive had them for about a year
As someone who's read all the shadowhunter books i can say with ABSOLUTE certainty that the movie is MUCH better than the show.
They’re literally on the TTC (Toronto Transit Commission). I’ve rode those trains everyday to high school and then university
Still crying for this movie in 2019 because it's a shame they didn't continue it and it's a shame it didn't worked out . The tv show sucks
Ok but seriously. The show shat on all of this. They should’ve made a sequel instead of a series
Robert Sheehan, amor da minha vida, Simon perfeito, porque cortaram quase todas a suas cenas aaaaaaa ele foi uma das melhores coisas do filme
Who still miss this at 2021?😢💘
I didn't watch the movie yet but I can tell how talented jamie is!! God I would love to see him in more new projects in the future
City of Bones better then shadow hunters Jace is cute

Sizzy moment. 🥺💕🌹
I always will prefer the books, BUT in my opinion the movie is better than the tv series (NOTHING against the actors or anything) but I guess the movies fits better, especially Jace and Clary appearence, in the series they look too older like adults, but here they looks like more someone in the college (a appearence more close to they being teenagers in the books and being in the high school), and also prefer the movie vibes and photograph
so that’s where those editors were getting the “of course they are, i’m stunningly attractive” scene lol
THIS IS THE CLOSEST ADAPTATION I'VE EVER SEEN. THE SERIES SUCK THEY SHOULD'VE CONTINUED WITH THIS
I want jamie, lily and Jocelyn, simon, luke from the movie and malec from show.. And storyline entirely of the books that's all I wanttt
Please bring back the cast and get a better producer/director for a new movie!!!
The scene with Clary's hair wasn't deleted
I have watch the movie before reading the book. I can say that the movie cast is more close to the characters than the series
невероятно крутое, фееричное и просто ошеломительное кино..
I loved this series. Please bring it baxk!
I had no clue Cassie was in the movie!! That’s amazing!!
I kind of wish they had sold the movie rights to another production company if they couldn't afford to continue. Maybe then, we would've seen the sequels being made.
I mean yeah but we know Lily and Jamie would never do another movie together maybe Jamie would want to speaking of the fact he has not removed the tattoo of her
I love the movie more than the series especially the cast
Ianer Ramos Yes
naaa

Everyone here is highlighting Malec from tv show. But did you realize that Malec hasn't any opportunity to happened in the movies yet? They completely threw every potential away and left us only the first part as a small introduction to what it all could be. It's so sad.
I don't think these are deleted scenes because I remember seeing all of these in the movie...
these actors were so much better than the shadowhunters ones, also i spy cassie
is there like a frickin bit of a possibility that we get another movie with the same cast? like, this cast is just perfect and the movie would suck if it weren't the same cast
Hell no :( so sad but true
If it means seeing more of Seb, count me in!
Movie Jace: 8/10
Tv show Jace: 6,5/10
"those girls are staring at you" and then he looks in the camera helpp
Pause at 0:39 clarys reaction is great.
A few of these scenes should have been in the film.
Forever preferring this rather than the series
