They are a good temporary plug patch. You still need to get the tyre patched on the inside with a correct vulcanising patch, as the rope patches can leak and are not that reliable (sorry 20 years in the tyre industry makes me wince every time I see an emergency rope plug).
@@goingundersground Yeah, the full patch repair uses the reamer (hole borer), remove tyre from rim, then scuff the inside of the tyre, apply bonding agent and then a mushroom patch (a patch that bonds to the tyre and sticks out of the hole in the tyre), roll the patch down to aid in vulcanisation., apply talcum powder and then remount the tyre. Balance the tyre and charge like a wounded bull, or if you had a sticker for the company i worked for on the car the puncture repair was free. Tah dah!

I actually didn't know that, thanks for the tip. Our local tire place just uses these rope ones.
