I watched your video with interest and I can only think there is something wrong with your car if it’s only getting 60 mile range. If it’s an early car (2014) then it’s just coming up for 10 years old. I’ve had four i3’s including the battery only version you have. I still have it as well as my i3s. My original i3 is still returning upwards of 80 miles range even in cold weather. I’d suggest you try to pre condition the car before your journey, videos on this are on my channel, I’d also use eco pro mode around town. Also check the service menu and you can check out the degradation on the battery. As with a gas car, if you drive it fast you’ll use more fuel! My i3s at 70 mph returns over 150 miles but in eco mode at 65 this will reach 200 on warm days.

It was a little bit of click bait lol the car gets around 85 miles in eco with a full charge i just used 60 because that’s typically what i have on average. Thanks For Watching!

I have a 2020 i3 with the 120ah battery. I get about about 185 miles on a full charge but I have never used that much as my life revolves around staying local to my hometown.
First off, this car is made specifically for city driving, not longer distances. This is how BMW originally pitched it. If your mom bought the car to go longer distances then she bought the wrong car, period.
The car came out in 2013 and the range tends to change, depending on how it is driven. If you stay in Comfort mode all the time, the range will always show less. If you drive around in Eco Pro a lot then again you will see an improvement.
You will probably have some HV battery degradation since 2014 then but not much.
I know you've said mileage thing is click bait, but seriously it is one of the best EV's out there value-wise. I would never have bought one one brand new, but as a second hand car there are bargains to be had with an i3.
Please do not compare this to a Tesla, you can't buy a tesla 2nd hand for the same money you can get these cars for. Tne only thing they have in common is they are both EV's.
I personally only drive 100 miles a week. That's like 15 miles a day. I don't need a Tesla that costs a fortune and has a bigger range I will never use. So what's the point?
You say the design is stupid - it's a personal choice and I for one like many other i3 owners love it. You honestly think you know better than BMW German car designers who are experts in their field? That's young arrogance talking. Good luck spending all that money on fuel if you decide one day to get an M3. With a home charger and cheap rate electricity, I spend about $200 a year on charging it up.
Also, the i3 has a very good track record for reliability. The same cannot be said for Teslas or other BMW's.
To sum up, you don't like it but you have to drive it because it's your moms car.

BMW i3 didn’t come out until 2014. I still drive mine. The range on them are mainly for around town driving and not for road trips. With this car, you should learn about regenerative braking. Not speeding or anything crazy will help with your range. I would like to get another one with more range. As far as the charging infrastructure, I charge at home on a regular 110 outlet. I get about 73 miles of range for the day and I also pre heat my cabin overnight in the winter. Just keep the ‘lead foot’ at home and the BMW i3 will work fine.

LOL! You should review other 2013 electric cars and compare their current ranges with a similar size battery. If that were my mom's car, I would buy my own and leave it at that. As for the looks, some of the greatest art provokes. I like that.

I think your i3 must have the smallest battery available and it degraded a lot.
I also drive the i3 my parents bought a while ago. I'm getting roughly 120 Miles on one charge. That's still not a lot but for our use it's fine.
    Greetings from Germany 👋

That is amazing….but in such a shocking way. That range is next to bloody awful. I’d rather take a bike.

I have an i3 with the smaller battery but it's a rex. I do 66 miles each day all year round and it achieves this often with sone heavy footed driving on the A roads. 106k on the clock and it drives like new. It's a brilliant car in my opinion. My wife has the bigger battery. Slightly slower but again, a good car.
Atrocious to manoeuvre? The turning circle is like a London taxi.
