This may sound crazy……however, Jermey’s back pain has a lot to do with him being Quad dependent. You can see it when he is standing still. If he would do hamstring stretches and then focus on strengthening his hamstrings, he would get a lot of relief!

    • @kathleenkrein6464
      @kathleenkrein6464 2 роки тому +14

Melissa, I watch Bob & Brad, 'The most famous Therapists on UA-cam', so hope you can find the videos they do specifically to help Jeremy's tight leg muscles to lengthen by stretching them after a mild warm-up first, otherwise a muscle tear could occur giving 'insult to injury' (sorry, I had to do that). They also have good stretches for back pain too. I do planks, which increase core strength, but only do half-way using bent knees, not full- straight-to-toes & rest on forearms, & not using straight arms as in a push-up at full push-up, & not nearly do I do these often enough. So I want to encourage you to do them when you get up out of bed in the a.m. & when you & Melissa get into the house being built prior getting the build started each day. A good warm-up followed by stretches will keep you well & reduce risks of injuries for you both, & you can do them together, mirroring each other.
Epsom Salts is necessary to relax those muscles too for both of you. If no tub yet, get a large bucket & add about 2 cups of regular Epsom salts to it in the hottest water you can comfortably handle & stick your feet in there for about 20 minutes. Hope you feel the difference that a Epsom salt magnesium soak makes very soon. I hurt my back in 1980, have been to chiropractors since then & could not continue my job without my wonderful chiropractor of 20 years keeping me rolling along, since 2002. Hard to believe it has been that long bus driving (sorry, can not tell you where, too political). I want to introduce him to my Grandfather who was a chiropractor but whom I never met as he died just before I was born. So I told my chiropractor I would introduce him to my Grandfather when we all meet in heaven, as both went to the same school. Bless you both. Take care. Your home looks wonderful. I enjoyed each time I helped drywall, carry drywall, mudded it, sanded it & painted it with my Dad & each thing we constructed together. Well I even enjoyed some deconstruction (solo) after I put my foot down & went to the garage for the crowbar to 'remodel' & remove all the critters (bugs with more legs than I, or so I told Dad...no more critters will be bathing with
me!) Poor Dad, he had a determined daughter...LOL...who frantically asked what are we going to put there....I just said we are going shopping. It needed to be done, since it was an unfinished basement that needed, well, an upgrade....& well, I was determined.
He was always a fabulous Mr Fix-it.
Fond memories of working side-by-side, with & for him & the family. Stay well.

Also, have you ever tried a TENS unit? You can get them online starting around $35, also a stretchy type back brace really helps provide support. Hope this helps. You are right about the Voltarin gel but my chiropractor says it's only for joints; but everytime I use it for my back & neck, it takes the pain away. I also use the Salon paas (icy hot) pads & the tens unit which really helps. I paid $110 for mine from a medical supply store (guess I got ripped off huh?). Oh well I really needed it & it serves me well. I am thankful to have the pain eased.

Jeremy, Im a Firefighter and have struggled with low back pain as well. One thing thats helped me has been KT tape. You can buy it at most grocery stores/walgreens/rite aid. Theres plenty of videos online on how to tape for different types of issues. Melissa, I always wait for your comments at the end of each video. So straight and so correct. I love that part of the video so much and leave it as food for thought until the next time you share.
The build is coming along so nicely. And no reason ever to compare as you have not only built one but two living abode's now......now to finish this one. From trailer, to mini house, to the big house..........life, children, teacher, illness and all of life plus the horses.........I'd say you are way ahead of schedule (not to mention the garden and fencing you've put in).........yes I'd say you are way ahead of any comparison thoughts that we all are guilty of. March on you two, you are rocking and rolling it! Now let's talk about the snack time breaks!!!!!!! Really??? ROFLOL ROFLOL.........love you guys! Take good care!
    God bless!!!!

That little devilish look or the look of enjoyment that Melissa gives when she puts them patches on are priceless! Everybody that I know that's gotten to new the appliances especially washers and dryers. Have been having troubles with them and then not having the parts to fix them! Y'all stay safe!

Jeremy, as I watch you doing the drywall, etc., I am praying for your back to heal!! I feel your pain, I know your pain from my mucked up spine🤪. Please take a break as soon as you can and just stay in the bed for a week and do nothing! If that does not help, you need to see what is really going on with your back…a MRI will do that. If you can prevent your back blowing out, do it🙏🏻🙏🏻. It looks GREAT in there!! You two are awesome! Team Melissa!! He did jiggle it after saying it was ok🤣

Keep in mind when you see all those houses go up so fast, there are more than 2 people working on them. They have a crew of people doing everything all at once. What y'all have accomplished in a year with your pole barn and little home inside of it and your home home that is almost finished in just a year is phenomenal! Remember that when you feel discouraged.

I have severe lower back issues. But wow what a difference a support back belt does, I can go all day using it with no tightness on my back and no repercussions on my hips or legs. Because eventually the tightness begins to affect the hips and leg’s. I use a cooper fit belt and remove the plastic brace and just use the belt.

Ya know Jeremy, normally I would have to side with the guy, (just because LOL), but since I went back and watched the "incident" again, I feel I have to say you and Brian were both wrong. In other words, that 5' 9", 50 year old wife definitely was correct. My vote goes to Team Melissa. 😊 And wait... it will be a year?? WOW, time sure does fly. I would have never guessed. You all have done an amazing job, but those cold temps are for the younger folk, or maybe just those built sturdier. That shot at the 11:49 mark reminded me of something my Dad once said about the mountain he lived on, "There are only 2 seasons here, the fourth of July and Winter." 😄 Keep up the great work!!

What a couple! I adore the way you care and love each other... its so nice to see your working together in Harmoney (aw, I'm sure there are days where things are not smooth... who doesn't have those) Melissa is amazing, highly intelligent and a little bitty lady whose a tough worker and a great example to other women that "YOU CAN DO IT" ... I really like the interaction between Jeremy and Melissa they are genuinely a happy couple who take each day in stride.. and four beautiful children. I thought it was fantastic that in one of the home school boxes they included both religion and science, something my kids had to make a choice to take one or the other in Alaska. Much to my relief they both chose faith and the belief that a higher power created the heavens and stars., and us! What beautiful land and you've spent so much dedicated time to build the home for the children to always be a part of and their future families. I enjoy watching your video's because they are real and very positive and show what can be accomplished if you set your minds to accomplish and walk in faith hand in hand to build your dream home from the ground up in faith. Quite a testimony! Please forgive any typo's as I have vision issues, and to correct anything is ridiculous if I even find it. Usually like now I couldn't find my typo. thanks for your patients. Gael. .

The house is really starting to take shape, almost ready for tape , top, texture.
And in close examination in slow motion, I'm saying the sun got in my eyes, and it appears to be mechanical malfunction. Chalk it up and call it drywall.
Builders tip: in rooms where there is a lot of sun, use a PVA sealer before painting. This will hid the taping seam, sheen: caused by difference between the recycled paper; and the smoothness of the taping compound. Giving you an even look. Now you know!
Take care and be safe and God bless amen. 🙂👍🙏👌👋
