Grovetown is great community to live in and to raise a family. We love Grovetown! People move to Grovetown (Columbia County) to live in the suburbs and get away from the large cities. Grovetown and Columbia County have the top schools in the state of Georgia and nation. Grovetown does not need any more retail stores or gas stations. Augusta University and Medical College of Georgia are building state of the art hospital in Grovetown! It is better if Grovetown stayed small, quiet, and safe. Evans and Martinez is only 10 mins away and has a lot of shopping and dinning. The Augusta Mall is 10 min drive from Grovetown. Downtown Augusta dining and nightlife is only 30 mins away. Move to Atlanta or any major city, 30 min commute is normal. Once again, Grovetown is a great place to live with great parks, trails, and schools! Yes most people drive 10 min to 30 mins to work in Augusta (Richmond County). But, no one wants to live in Augusta (Richmond County) because of crime and poor housing options.
As a G'towner, this is my take: 1. Access to Healthcare - hop on I-20 and drive 25 mins to Downtown. Military has the DDMAC hospital. That is a very weak reason!. Urgent cares are available and I never had an issue (even when G'town wasn't what it is today) 2. Shopping - Drive 15 mins to Augusta or Evans. What's the drama there? 3. Housing - Yes, they keep building around. But the older communities still are spacious. 4. Traffic - It has become a pain through the years. A 5 min drive to the base is no more. That has become a problem. 5. "Younger-Millenial community" - Well, the old suburbs are very much an older-generation community. But yes, we do have more and bigger schools around. They used to be tiny. 6. No entertainment - This is not a Grovwtown issue, this is an entire CSRA issue! The CSRA is a VERY boring area. Grovetown is one of the quietest areas, so if you don't like busy areas, G-town is still a good alternative. Because of this, Grovetown is still a very safe, low-to-no-crime city. All in all these reasons are kind of weak. Grovetown is not a bad place to live. It's boring, but not too bad.
Thank you for sharing your perspective as a Grovetown resident. As I’ve mentioned in my other ‘reasons not to’ videos, the intent is not to discourage anyone or present the area in a negative light, but rather to provide a well-rounded view of what it’s like to live here. I appreciate your feedback and the points you’ve raised.
I think it's great content giving people a balanced approach so they can make an informed decision. Good job and clear presentation of information related to things people may want to take into consideration ❤❤❤❤
The military blew Grovetown up over the years...If Augusta takes away the military base most likely Augusta, Georgia will be a ghost town..Augusta as a whole does not even have much to do and yes I am from Augusta, Georgia (family still lives in the town). I have lived in Kentucky (Lexington), Texas (Fort Hood), and now Honolulu (Hawaii). One of the biggest things since moving around is that the other cities have daily activities to see/do! Honolulu yes is paradise but I have noticed that they have full up to date basketball/tennis courts everywhere! I see kids out playing basketball more then you think!! Augusta took away those activities (Funsville) etc..The movies here aren't popular/not all beaches are worth visiting but I do see kids going out enjoying themselves surfing/playing sports/riding their dirt bikes etc in Honolulu.
The military has blown up Grovetown, but I do not agree that it is what is keeping people in the area. I feel like Augusta is for a certain type of person looking for a certain type of lifestyle. It intentionally does not have the characteristics of a big city, but I do see changes coming in the next I’d 5 years or so.
I get where you're coming from, but it's not quite as simple as everything being within a 15-20 minute drive from Grovetown. With more folks moving in and the usual traffic delays, plus the occasional unexpected gridlocks due to increase in accidents, getting around can take longer than expected. Plus, a lot of the time, you've gotta hop on the interstate to reach your destination, which can tack on extra time.
😂😂😂😂 Okay. First of all. Growetown is growing so fast because it's connected to a Military base. They are Building Wider Roads. But mainly this woman. If you can't tell, she is trying to get you to move to Augusta and Evans area has more shopping. That's where the theaters are. And if you like golf they have masters. But The augusta area is worse on crime Especially first friday down at broad street A lot of shootings. So don't let this woman gaslight you And evans and augusta Are not even fifteen minutes from growetown And the neighborhood there are just as close together far as houses was And probability more expensive So this Realtor probably has all her cells out in Augusta. And probably. Dont have any houses that she sells in grovetown😂😂😂😂😂😂 She's only telling you the bad things about growetown And nothing bad about Augusta. and Evans So I hope you don't buy from her if she'll tell you the bad one place , but not on the other What else will she leave out
Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts! I’d love to clear up a few points for you and anyone else who might be new to my channel. First, Grovetown isn’t directly connected to the military base, but it is conveniently close, which makes it a popular choice for people looking for a shorter commute. The road widening you mentioned is part of a larger effort to keep up with Grovetown’s rapid growth-a growth recognized nationally in recent years. As for crime, it’s an unfortunate reality in most cities, and no area is immune. Augusta, like other places, has its challenges, but many wonderful communities here offer safe, family-friendly neighborhoods. If you’ve seen more of my content, you’ll know my goal is always to provide a balanced perspective on any area to help buyers make the best choice for themselves, whether that’s Augusta, Evans, Grovetown, or beyond. And, just so you know, I absolutely represent homes in Grovetown as well! Thanks again for your comment-I welcome different viewpoints, as they help add depth to the discussion on the area.
You could say the truth without saying y’all shouldn’t move to this town. There are great stores in and near Grovetown for me. The traffic is too much but that’s me. I’m used to smaller towns. And there are plenty of hospitals in the Augusta area so saying it doesn’t have a hospital is neither here and there you could’ve worded this a lot better, I’m very disappointed in this channel because of the way that you’re talking about a town in the Augusta area that only isn’t called Augusta because they have not jumped in and joined in and become totally part of the town. The area that is called Augusta, but you can’t tell where Augusta ends and Grovetown begins.
I appreciate your perspective on Grovetown. While I understand your concern about the traffic and acknowledge the presence of great stores and hospitals in the Augusta area, my intention is to provide honest insights for those considering relocation. It's not to discourage anyone but to offer a well-rounded view of the community. Feel free to share your positive experiences in Grovetown, and as I value the diversity of opinions in our community discussions.
Girl Bye, I can tell you about the 70's and 80's in Groovy Town. Some of us from Augusta appreciate the small town feel. Everything you need is 15 minutes away. Get more information before you report. You don't know enough to give an opinion.
@@mistyangel1960 Thanks for your comment! It seems like there may have been a misunderstanding about the purpose of the video. I appreciate your viewpoint, but please consider watching more of my content before assuming I haven’t done my research.

Great content. I'm native to Atlanta and learned something new. I had never heard of this town until today. All the best.
Thank you so much!
perfect place.
I moved here 4 years ago. It has grown tremendously within that time. I have never heard or experience anything negative here.
I’m glad to hear that! Thank you for your feedback.

As a realtor, do you handle working with someone who’s interested in renting?
My primary focus is purchase and sale, but I do assist some with finding rentals depending on the situation.
Since the year 2000, 12,500 people have moved there according to this video.
14,000
Which is double the existing census...

Yes, there are definitely homes for rent.
