This could be the mixer I didn't know I needed, that feedback function is such a sweet addition, I'm always using aux sends, to send back into them selves, and this little fella seems to capitalise on that idea, plus the super portability for gigging. Boom!
I wasn't too sure about how useful the feedback loop would be, but it honestly sounds sooo good in stereo that it's wild.
The poor mans TX-6 from Teenage Engineering. Now I want to see Bestie with PO's. It's so funny when small boxes make a lot of noise.
I do love a small noisy setup.

Love the Bastl instruments and utilities. Good video. Ill end up getting one. I just got FREE Dude a couple months ago when Bastl threw in a Dude Mixer with the purchase of a Microgranny.

I was pretty impressed with how big it sounds - partly due to the stereo nature of the feedback loop I think. It really adds a bit of texture and atmosphere.
Small audio devices have an irresistible appeal to me. I have a blue box, but a pocket-sized multi-channel analog distortion unit sounds appealing. For now, I wasn't going to buy more gear, but .... Thanks for the video!

Yeah, I thought nobody has two M8's, especially because they are hard to get. I just found out that Polyend will release a "Tracker Mini" this year.

@@subiesojourner777 So M8 and Tracker Mini are both for pre-order ATM. I like the larger display of the Tracker Mini, but it's not cheap.

@@StephenMcLeodI’ve ended up with two now, second bestie came today! One for drum buss smashing and one for consolidating synths before octa as a summing mixer. Highly reccomend they sound phenomenal when cranked too!

darn it i know the myvolts 5 channel stereo mixer is 20$ but this can saturate and crunch i have to order it today darnit !!! but i wonder if it will be too crunchy into a monotron delay will find out too crunchy no such thing, always im a big fan of no input mixer techniques.

Twice the price of the Bastl Dude?
I'm not 100% on the final price - but the Bestie's build is markedly superior to the Dude from what I can gather, and includes USB power (rather than DC), the feedback loop, and is stereo as opposed to mono - which will all factor in.
@@StephenMcLeod its 218 euros but its basically more than twice of a mixer than the Dude
people moaning about "it's got gain but not level!!" are having a laugh, aren't they?! buy any one of the entire rest of the cheap mixer market out there if you want that, tsk tsk. sounds great (feral) to me.

Wait there's no battery cover on the back? Whhhhyyyyy Bastl why would you do that???? Kinda defeats the purpose of building it with a metal chassis in the first place, no? That's madness.
That does seem like a strange choice.
There were multiple case prototypes - one included a battery cover. However we decided to not use it in the end - since it added more weight, production costs and the bottom couldn’t be completely flat because of it. The results of the testing was it’s really not necessary - the batteries are held well even without it. Also it’s faster to swap batteries without a cover…
