A cover only in the sense that what Beyoncé made was a cover of the song written by BC Jean and Toby Gad, originally performed by Jean in 2008. Beyoncé's cover was that same year.
In this video the pianist is Toby Gad .. the Piano Diaries are a celebration of his hit songs. He invited Angelina to England with him to perform .. this is the sixth version I have heard. I am not sure if it is really a cover when a singer is standing next to the composer as they jam to create a different version of the song.

so, I see ALOT.
But, I have never seen such a 'cut- up' and 'gouged'out' mutilation of
a performance anywhere at any time when it comes to editing; in fact, no site I've visited has claimed any such 'copy-right' problems.

Hi Richard, your comments are always on the mark and well taken. However, I'm not sure of the need to pause so frequently during your presentation. I understand copyright issues but I have watched dozens of reactions to this performance and no reactor has found the need to pause at all. I don't understand the differences from reactor to reactor with regard to the need for this type of pausing. But thanks for all you do. Hi Richard, when I saw you had reacted to Bad Valentine, I immediately came to watch your video as I always enjoy your point of view on Jordan’s vocals. I also read the comments BEFORE I watch the video. I’ve heard this song over a hundred times now and I was appalled at the comments berating you for pausing and cutting up the video. Apparently these people have no idea what a reaction video is about, most just play the video and at the end say, “there it is, wasn’t she great!”., without saying anything about WHY! After having seen the video so many times, it was actually nice to hear you react so often and give your opinion during her brilliant rearrangement of Toby and BC Jean’s classic. I, personally, have zero musical talent, but I have a great ear and know what sounds great and what doesn’t. This is your channel, you do a great job Richard and you have to ignore the imbeciles who don’t understand the difference between a reaction channel and a channel that is just playing videos for free on UA-cam and pretending to react to them. Well, you are only showing us fragments of the video, so I can not really make my mind up with this reaction. But this is a wonderful rendition of this song. And that the writer Toby Gad, he has been co-writer of this song back in 2008, has asked Angelina to work with him in his project "Piano Dairies" tells it all. Toby Gad is playing the piano in this song and also in "bad Valentine". He and Angelina are working on more new songs so we just have to wait.
I have always enjoyed your reactions but in this one, I don't get why you felt the need (way beyond, as far as I know, the basic copyright requirement) to make so many pauses and, even more mysteriously, to actually cut out some parts of the performance! I don't think that cutting up her performance like that (and cutting out chunks of it) does justice to the brilliance of this beautiful performance, or to Angelina. I'm sorry, but this spoiled it for me and I could not watch to the end. If, like most of us, you came here to listen to Richard’s reaction to this song rather than to Jordan sing the song, you should have no complaint. If you just want to listen to the song with no interruptions, it’s available on James Thiels’ channel. Most reactors just play the song, say it was great and that’s it without really saying anything worthwhile! Richard is one of the few who actually “reacts” to Jordan’s emotional vocals and stops the video when he “feels” it’s necessary. I suggest you might want to put some more thought into your next criticism of this very sensitive individual. I’ve seen this video over a hundred times and actually enjoyed seeing it cut up and reviewed in sections, it made me appreciate Jordan’s magnificent vocal performance even more!

As much as his comments are obviously spot on, it is interesting that he found it necessary to insert significantly more numerous pauses than any of the many other reactors whom I have followed, including vocal coaches. Furthermore, he is the ONLY reactor, of the many I have followed (obviously there are many that I haven't followed) who found it necessary to actually remove parts of any song, from any artist to whom they were reacting.

When I don’t like a reactor’s methods or what they have to say, I unsubscribe or make sure I never watch another one of their videos. What’s your philosophy on this matter?
