A yield sign is a stop sign when a train is coming. 💙 T.E.N.
Notice the skid marks. Someone needed to stop quickly
The skid mark is on the left lane going uphill and is a single tire track, looks more like someone peeled out going uphill away from the crossing.
Stop sign vs yield sign......... what difference would that make for a fool?
Forget the Stop 🛑 Sign. Put lights 🚨 and bells 🔔 there.
That costs $$$ + maintenance forever...
Not enough traffic or enough trains , you are supposed to be paying attention and listening
As a rough estimate, what does it cost to install a pair of flashers, or even flashers and crossing gates on a rural RR crossing? (It must be a lot of money, and as mentioned, not justifiable here.)
Thanks,
RL Buffalo, NY
My town installed a lights and crossbar crossing instead of a yield/stop. They also installed little concrete islands (I don't know the right term. I just know people kept running over them in the dark when they were first installed 😂) to keep you from trying to drive around the arms.
Now some people are mad because they have to wait on the rare occasion we actually get a train.
Technically, if you’re going to yield to a train, you are going to stop so it’s kind of the same thing
That's so cool, Reminds myself of a place I once was at here in Australia.
You would never think on such a great day in what seems a quiet little area to See let alone hear a Train.
A reminder to look....
A crossbuck sign is a regulatory sign because it's black and white. A Istop is required if you hear or see a train the driver must yield to a train.a regulatory the signage tells the motorist to obey if not the black and white (cops) come after you.and write a citation
I think the ear blowing train horn is enough warning
Possibly not with loud music playing and modern car soundproofing ☠️
I heard the train before you spoke a word, also lived near one of these in Petal Mississippi for about 8 years and another in Columbus Mississippi.
Yes I do feel lucky thanks
The Upper Peninsula of Michigan is so beautiful, green, and full of evergreen trees. Unfortunately the mosquitoes and black flies will attack you. Last time we almost didn’t get in our camping trailer in time. Like most UPers the bear that followed us into the camper enjoys Euchre.
Plenty of them out there!!😮
I love that location, very beautiful 😊
JawTooth sighting
Sweet sounds
Someone thought they might have luck on their side...hence the tire mark.
They got isekai'd by Train-Kun
There should be no trees, bushes or anything for 100 metres, in either direction.
That's an insane crossing.
That Railroad Crossing needs a Ding Ding.
Definitely should be a stop sign for that one random visitor...
Can we all agree that the Eacanaba and Lake Superior Railroad is a sketchy shortline
The town I grew up with had such a crossing and there was a Station in the middle of the town. No gate ... And it was a commuter line. The problem was ... Double tracks. A train would pass and traffic would go ... And never see the train going in the opposite direction. Inconceivable that it took years to get a gate and then even more years to eliminate the second set of tracks. People would go around the gate when the train passed.
Neat
Nice scenery to. 👍 Good catch.
Great video and pretty spot!!
this is the same guy who cuts everyone off while entering a highway while passing the yield sign...
Excelente sonido de la máquina 🚂🚂🚂🚂👍👍👍👍👍👌👌👌👌🧔🧔🧔🧔🧔
In a rural location like that with very little traffic, you would be amazed how many people wouldn't stop if that yield sign was a stop sign.
Never did get the yield sign thing on a railroad crossing. At most of these crossings you have to stop to see if you need to yield. Then the crossings with the stop signs. You have to stop to see if you need to yield for the train that's coming. Might as well put a sign up saying, rail traffic doesn't stop at this intersection.
Every state has its own set of rules for determining which crossings receive equipment, typically based on the number of deaths in a year.
At least they can't harass you for not doing a complete stop.
Beautiful crosd8ng 8n tye countryside, my favourite. 😊
Yes, it is pretty cool
Gates needed!
Beautiful 🎉
A deaf person wouldnt see it coming
Why
ELS my uncles both worked for ELS
Yield to opposite traffic is a stop sign
This is how we improve the gene pool
Nice little rural crossing.
That p horn is like nails on a chalk board.
Man I love sd40-2s
It repairs the gene pool.
Why there’s no stop sign is dangerous!😮
Every State has it's own set of rules as to how to decide what crossing gets what equipment. Normally based on the number of deaths in a year.
Stop Look and Listen
We get them in Australia round where im from-but you can see a good 200M+ from the crossing
This looks like the train crossing in searsport Maine
The road is a dead end up the hill. Is there even a sign on the other side ?
Scary,
Very good editing
Thank you so much 😀
The video was done in the camera angles with which you presented it----which was to: 'Make a speeding train crew, look like they were operating recklossly.'
If truth be told, I'd be that if we looked at that RR crossing from distances further back, one would see that the approaching train crew could see unimpeded that the road crossing was clear, from distances as they continued toward the crossing while maintaing their timetable authorized speed.
And the narrator makes a good point. The State in which that crossing is located would have physically placed STOP signs in appropriate places for motorists that would need to see them, provided the State had deemed it necessary for public safety.
A
my summer car anyone ? 🤣
Forget yield signs or stop signs. I'd rather have lights and guard rails at that crossing. If that doesn't make this blind crossing more visible/conspicuous for road car drivers, I don't know what will.
1 single locomotive, a 4 axle
Thats light duty!!!
that horn is pretty badly fouled lol
Eh, most of them are going less than 30 it’ll be fine.. besides this F150 was built tough..
I’m surprised no one noticed the hazmat tank car next to the power.
It may be OK, since it’s just an
environmentally hazardous material.
I should have researched it before
I commented! lol!😂
What hazmat tank car? If you stop the video and look at the placard on the right-end of the tank car it is NOT RED.
Also the new rules place a car between the loco and some hazmat car(s). You see this with LOADED crude oil trains. You know the crude oil cars are empty when BOTH buffer cars are together.
Relax, the train crews know what they are doing. Every railroad has a book of rules the trains crews must follow when building/working a train.
Empty glue tank car. Non-flammable, so it doesn't need a buffer
Horn sounds horrible! With the train speed through there, that crossing should be lights and gates
No that crossing needs warning lights
Isn't there supposed to be a huge R X R RAILROAD CROSSING sign painted on the road?
Needs a stop. Look listen live
Train won't stop for road users.
Does that say it all.
Less than a safe situation isn't it.
Too much left to chance comes to mind.
Which line is that ?
Scabway Inc Lozcomotive
Yeah, that is pretty cool, pretty scary as well and. half of the comments here. Don't make any sense. And don't even go with the video. What the heck??🤔🤔
Greg, if you look closely at the profile avatars, you'll soon see they are pornographic.
These are porno bots that always make comments that are gibberish.
And rarely do they match the channel content/video.
Please REPORT them as unwanted spam/pornography. Then they'll get removed.
I loathe these things, and lately I have been reporting on 2 to 6 of these on Jason's channel in the comments area.
The yt censor THAT SHOULD catch and remove these is worthless.
It'll delete valid comments, and put you in a 24 hour timeout, and many times it's not even your comment at all, but one above or below it, if there's one there by you at all.
I got put in a timeout for 24 hours[on numerous occasions] for supposedly posting a comment[s] the yt censor didn't like.
When I was shown the screenshot it took, I had NEVER made a comment at all.
My name and reply box[EMPTY] was there with 2 other comments that were in violation.
Forget yt feedback, or finding a way to defend yourself, and have yiur comment rights restored, they just ignore it.
A lot of innocent commenters get punished by the yt censor that shouldn't have been.
That yt AI censor needs to be permanently disabled, it does not function correctly. It needs to go!
Damn yt censor strikes again. Explained this and what do do about them, what they are, but comment deleted AGAIN. And there was no valid reason for deleting it!
And I'll lay odds this one gets deleted too!
Censor needs to be turned off, and permanently disabled....it doesn't work correctly.
Yep, 2 comments deleted back to back.🤬🤬🤬
Sorry I can't explain those gibberish, nonsensical comments on here.😒 I tried.
Every video has a few, has been this way for years. Nothing I can do about it, I remove them daily.
I'm not deleting anything. That's on you.
Do you know what horn that is by any chance?
Nathan P5
Get rid of the cross bucks and put in a normal crossing.
It'd be cooler if you would just be quiet
There every around where I live it's called use common sense around tracks
