This is so bizarre, almost a month ago I watched a UA-cam video on scams in the Canadian tow truck industry. It was from a Canadian investigative news journal called The fifth estate.
@@janeysiegrist5061 I thought the tow truck and recovery industry in the United States was dirty. But there are several states that have far worse laws for tow truck companies. In Arizona any tow company can tow your car on your own property if your bumper is sticking out into the street.
That is why I never let anyone drive my car. I can't replace it financially, so I can't risk it getting crashed. So sorry you are going through this. You are doing right by staying positive. Hopefully this will work out for the best. Sending prayers!

Juliana, Not sure if you have a loan on the van but if you do you should always add gap insurance. Sometimes it’s offered by your insurance company and that’s way cheaper for gap than getting it from the dealer. It’s about $5-$8 a month through your insurance company, and probably $15 when adding it to your loan. Anyway it covers any difference between your pay off vs what they value the van if it’s a total loss. It’s cheap coverage to have when you have a total loss, especially if you have a loan.
Juliana, in my lifetime thus far when things get to be overwhelming I too would 2nd guess myself on whatever it was that had me feeling like that. It’s good nobody was hurt in the accident, the tow company guy sounds like he’s lying . Your big brown eyes are beautiful Juliana . Have a great Sunday ❤❤
Just know in a few weeks things will be back to normal. I think the worst thing about a car crash is all the phone calls, the paperwork, the time waiting, conversations with insurance companies etc. and also the crabby tow truck/storage guy. Body shops can fix crashed cars good as new!
They're never good as new, they could be made "serviceable" if the body shop doesn't do a sketchy job in which case you'll be in court after them as well. Combined with the fact that CarFax will now show this accident and the settlement amount against the vehicle for the rest of time, and any future purchaser of the vehicle will see that information and reduce the value of the vehicle accordingly, or it might make the vehicle extremely hard to sell as a result of it. So yes the body shop can give you back a serviceable vehicle (hopefully) but the damage is done and there are things that happen in accidents to the vehicle that can't be picked up by an adjuster, so you may continue to have problems with it even after it's repaired and if you ever try to sell it you will get a whole lot less money for it and/or it might be really hard to sell.
WOW!!! So sorry you are going through this but I know you will come out better than you went in. I’ve soooooo enjoyed your videos and this is a minor setback for the great things that are to come! Than you for sharing your life with us, I’m glad you did.

Hey... I became acquainted to your channel through the wonderful, final start to finish 5th wheel camper video you produced. Left a comment there and asked you a couple of questions. Anyway, great content and a fabulous personality you seem to be! A modern day classic in the making I might say. Sincerely hope you're doing ok...Noticed some weird comments a few videos back. It's a strange new world we live in these days w/ an increasing # of crazy people! Never live in fear but always be alert & on your toes. Maybe check in and let us know you're enjoying the summer? I see there are a number of other concerned subscribers who care to know as well.
Julianna I enjoy seeing you your smile your little adventures your dogs. When I finish your videos I feel good, like I got to share a little time with someone I think I would would enjoy spending time with have a a great day 😊
It's actually good news that they will pay to fix it rather than total it. I only got a quick look at it but from what I saw, the damage is minor. As long as the frame and mounts are good, you'll have a better van in the end.
So sorry you are clearly overwhelmed by all that is happening and the crap you got from that tow truck guy. On the up side as you say, no one was hurt and the accident was not your family members fault. Sending you lots of love and best wishes that this all gets fixed up and next thing we know you are building your van in Florida with your brother.
Gm Juliana…I am a new fan and from Baltimore….just my two cents….i have found when facing challenges….create a gratitude list in my head or on paper….by the time I am halfway through my list, my mood and outlook has changed and on the upswing….trust yourself….be good to yourself and continue smiling….dont sweat the small stuff….come to Maryland and see our Eastern shore….you’ll love it…peace
Glad that everyone is OK. Sorry to hear about your accident. Kudos to you for keeping your cool with that tow truck guy. He’s clearly a shady person, but at least you didn’t lower yourself to his level.
I am so sorry about your van. but I just want to tell you Thank You for sharing yourself with us. You are truly an amazing young woman and I look forward to following you everyday. i along with most of your subscribers Love you.
I've been there and it sucks.. My first 'home on wheels' was an ancient class C. It burned to the ground with everything in it and I ended up putting every last penny I had into a sketchy minivan. It took a couple of years to get back to normal, but it all turned out well in the end.
Julianna. This to shall pass. The van is at a Ford dealership for the repairs which will be done with MFG parts and not some aftermarket equipment. Your brother is always there to help and he will be able to look over their work and see that you are going to be find in that van. Hang in there. You stop in the video to see the Sunset just Think of all of the Sunrises & Sunsets around your Favorite Lakeside and Rivers Streams with the dogs and family members and friends. Once again This Shall Pass. ❤❤❤❤
I think of situations like this as a test of my resolve. I know it can be hard to see it like that in the moment, but as a viewer looking in on your experience, van life seems perfect for the way you view the world. In nature, you're always in awe of the beauty and the grandeur of what many people would likely consider to be basic trees or just nature being nature. You take in the views and just hang out in places, even alone, where many people simply don't. You are more connected to the earth than many, and I think that's why I think (and hope) you will keep your resolve for this path and keep going in whatever way you need to. You have been inspiring me to follow my own heart and dig deeper into van life as well. Looking forward to an update. And loving the content!
Just started watching your videos I’m a Carpenter you and your brother did great job on the 5th wheel camper feel really bad about your van being in a accident thank god nobody was hurt
Hey Juliana. I’m so relieved to hear that you’re okay and no one was hurt. I really feel your pain and only wish you all the best. Like I’ve said before the van can be fixed or replaced. You cannot! Take it just one day at a time. You are very strong, even when you feel that you are not. What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. So after this you should be able to lift the world. I wish you all the best, good luck. Calvin
Hi Juliana. There are always struggles in life. With van life there is going to be more just like with the Honda. There will be break downs and set backs, but you just have to keep pushing that skinny peddle on the right. I am starting a new chapter in my life. I am planning a cross country trip this spring on my bike. So maybe one day we will cross paths in the camping world. I wish you luck and wish you all the best. Calvin
Hi Juliana. I hope you have things figured out with your van. I haven’t seen any new videos and I was wondering if you are going to to continue with your channel. I wish you all the best in what ever you do. Calvin
I had the same thing happen to me with my daughter’s car. It was towed to his private lot and it took me a week to get a hold of the tow guy to get her car. I Kept calling him and he wouldn’t answer his phone. Finally I guess he kept it long enough so the bill was high enough so I had to pay him $1,800 dollars for lot fees. So I could get her car back. I feel your pain. 💪
Perspective is everything. Right now you are in the middle of your shitstorm so its normal to question everything and be overwhelmed. Live in the now, you are ok, the people involved are ok, vans don't matter at all. In six months your perspective on this event will be different and this bs just an unpleasant memory. Whatever you do, know that your videos have entertained and taught many others who live vicariously through your adventures, and many people you will never meet in life think fondly of you and your family and are pulling for you. Take some time, nurture yourself, and don't think you have to resolve this immediately. I am confident you will bounce back quickly and feel better soon. Hugs.
Looks like the battery and mounting have moved, also the radiator has likely moved, new panels and lights it will be an expensive fix, the van is probably worth more than the repair cost, you should have a safe reliable van afterwards, stay warm safe happy and positive Juliana. It will be okay, much love ✌️❤️🇬🇧
Juliana, your content is great. Let me reassure you that the Ford Transit vans are tough. Their design came from Europe and is tried and true. I drive with a shuttle company and we use the Transit vans to the tune of about 5000 miles per week. The check engine light is usually on, but for us it does not cause an issue. Most of the fleet has over 500000 miles and still run great. Used body parts are available and the interior parts are tough. A few tricks… thr small pocket at the top front of the door panel is for business cards. The pocket above the shifter is for a walk-in talkie. When driving and using cruise control, bump the up button on the gearshift when it is in D. This will change the display to show a range. If you do nothing else, the vehicle should not downshift more than once when going uphill as it tries to maintain speed. There are several more, but too many to list here. Many Blessings to you!
Juliana, if the van life is a dream and a passion you want to live out then keep pursuing that as much as you can!...I hate that happened to your van and hope whatever happens with it is the absolute best for you...if you go to Florida...swing by me in Georgia and say hello
Juliana , you are stronger than this !! It's a minor accident ... they happen every day !! In the grand scheme of things , its not a big deal ! Get it repaired and press on with the plan. Just a speed bump on the road ! We all know you are up for it....show us ! A Canadian fan.
Glad to hear that there were no injuries in the accident. When insurance is involved, accident repairs can take a while. Perfectly understandable that your are feeling down and uncertain about "van life." Take you time and allow yourself to work through the situation. I get that there is logic around YT that you need to constantly be providing new content. But I have also seen a couple van lifers or "overlander" burn out trying to meet that logic. You don't have to prove anything to us. As you noted in the video, perhaps this is life's way of saying "take more time to think this through." However this works out, your well being is the most important thing.
Bless yo heart…looks like 5-6000$ in damage…bout 60 days you’ll b good to go…with the current value of the van…insurance won’t total it….take your unlimited mileage rental….an get your butt on the road…blessing in disguise…love your videos!
Hi Juliana, so glad that you didn't get hurt. Sorry about your awesome van. Thanks so much for sharing your videos with me. I don't necessarily care what your video ends up being, but I do care about you. I want good things for you. You come across as a fun and nice person😊

I would say that engine bay would need a whole new fit-out. Are you insured for the market price or a set price, it should be on your policy document. They can tell you over the phone what your pay out figure would be.
Isn't it crazy how bad things always seem to happen to good people like yourself, but bad people seem to slip through the cracks ! You always have a positive outlook on everything, there is always a sign for us to follow. I don't think this is in anyway a sign for you to not do van life,i believe it is a sign to stay persistent, and continue on what journey you are on. It's just a test of strength !!!!
Don't be down, juliana I know you are at that point where you don't know what the f--k is going to happen I understand that. Just take a breath and go to your favourite swimming spot with something to eat and drink and just sit and chill, forget about the van for a couple of hours, look at the lovely scenery and concentrate on some positive things, you are alive and kicking as is your family you can visit beautiful spots like where you are, you have your health, you are a gorgeous lady with lots of people who love and support everything you do. I am a great believer in the power of a hug. Get a big old bear hug off your dad !!!! If I was there I would hug you for so long you would probably fall asleep. Look after yourself because lots of us care everything will work out, sending you a huge hug and cuddle with lots of love John xx ❤❤
Girl, I feel your struggle. I have a 2018 Hyundai Kona. in 2021, just a few short months of me buy it, I was t-boned on my passenger side on my lunch break. It was still drive able, and it ended up being a little over $6,500 worth of repairs....2 years later on my birthday....someone backed into the driver side....another $3,500...And when I drove the thing off the lot when I first got it, I just KNEW this was gonna be the car that gets in a wreck and I was correct. She was new, all I knew was used beaters. Guess she is now a used beater and safe from future inconveniences XD. -knocks on wood- But for real, I am glad everyone is okay. You're allowed to feel frustrated and lost. I was being without my car. (also, I just recently found your videos and I truly enjoy them. Every time you're like "Gosh, wish I had someone to eat this with" or "wish I had someone to share this experience this with," I'm over here like "oh! Oh! Pick me! Pick Me!" cause I say the same thing all the time lol I feel like its hard to find people who want to spend time in nature rather than are bars and clubs (or even just be hermits at home...) I love exploring so much!
Being through this my self, just know it will work out. It is hard to deal with sometimes after an accident. And don’t always work out best with the vehicle. But in the end you will be okay. It is a set back that will soon be over. In my experience, it was a long time that we had to wait on our truck and it wasn’t done right. Never was the same but we traded it pretty quickly and was better off. We got out of debt after and drove a car with no payments. It all worked out great. Yours will too even if it looks like it will not. Some time down the road it will be the best for you.
Glad everyone is OK. Car accidents suck for everyone. I hope you got a police report to prove liability and can get it repaired or what it is worth. Take Care and hope for the best
I hope you continue to entertain us with your great enthusiasm and freedom of life. Every time i see you dive into a project, i know it will get accomplished and look awesome! So, we will see you soon then. Because your not one to back down from a challenge! 💪

WOW!!! So sorry you are going through this but I know you will come out better than you went in. I’ve soooooo enjoyed your videos and this is a minor setback for the great things that are to come! Than you for sharing your life with us, I’m glad you did.
Juliana so sorry about the accident but am glade no one was hurt. What ever you do just stay positive. Any decision you make I'LL continue to follow you. Love your video love you.
💛💛💛 thank you 🙏
Glad to hear no one was hurt try stay positive and hopefully your van will get fixed your strong person I’m sure everything will work out for better stay safe .
Our fav.s ditch us so unceremoniously. They don't care that we care .
No worries, just another bump in the road. You got this 💪
Julianna I enjoy seeing you your smile your little adventures your dogs. When I finish your videos I feel good, like I got to share a little time with someone I think I would would enjoy spending time with have a a great day 😊
You always seemed the happiest when you are camping, no matter what you were camping in. I wish you well. Keep enjoying the sunsets!
Sending you a 🫂 🤗
Gm Juliana…I am a new fan and from Baltimore….just my two cents….i have found when facing challenges….create a gratitude list in my head or on paper….by the time I am halfway through my list, my mood and outlook has changed and on the upswing….trust yourself….be good to yourself and continue smiling….dont sweat the small stuff….come to Maryland and see our Eastern shore….you’ll love it…peace
Keep on keeping on! Chalk it up to character development and keep your sights set on the big picture...
Kept calling him and he wouldn’t answer his phone.
Van life is for you baby girl just follow your dreams and your beautiful heart cause I'm here for you
This is such a bummer! I hope all will be fixed & better VERY SOON! So sorry that this happened. And it's such a sweet van!
Hey, lady. Can't wait to see what's next for you. Hoping for the best. God will with you through it all though. Looking forward to seeing you again.
Thoughts and prayers for you. 🙏❤️🌹
🙏💛
You’ll be okay. It will all work out and the weather is perfect here in Cape Coral Fl
💛💛💛
Hey Ju. You know this is the first video of yours that I've looked at. I'm impressed with your resilience. Please do more van life videos. You rock.
Juliana, if the van life is a dream and a passion you want to live out then keep pursuing that as much as you can!...I hate that happened to your van and hope whatever happens with it is the absolute best for you...if you go to Florida...swing by me in Georgia and say hello
Sorry about your accident glad u r ok Juliana
Juliana , you are stronger than this !! It's a minor accident ... they happen every day !! In the grand scheme of things , its not a big deal ! Get it repaired and press on with the plan. Just a speed bump on the road ! We all know you are up for it....show us !
A Canadian fan.
Damn. You can't give up on your ultimate dreams. Never stop pursuing van life. If nit thus van then another. Day at a time ! Day at a time!
Glad everyone is ok. Stay strong everything is going to be all right
be patient it will work itself out just think before all decisions, I had an accident fixed my car out of pocket and my transmission went 3 weeks after. double whammmeee, I'm still recovering! at least you got family, smh I have nada- HEAD UP! No matter what you upload I'm watching. love yahh toooo!
@hitmytele-gJuliana_officials
thank you for sharing. Even when the doom and gloom set in you seem to always keep it real Juliana. The fact that your van is a condtion that seems despair. You have a plan. keep it real and I'm sure that things will turn out.
Just keep going don’t let things like the accident stop you from what you love van can be fixed and you move on you can do this just keep your family close and depend on them for hugs 🥰
Hey try not to stress too much Juliana,
It'll all work itself out, just let it take its course
Sucks that you have to deal with all of that. Hope you can enjoy the little things again very soon.
So sorry to hear about the accident. Sometimes theses things are here to test is out. Keep your head up high & don't give up. Your doing grate & your handling the situation very well. All the best for the future. Stay positive & keep up the good work 👍🏿 SV Kiwi Lady Opua Bay of islands New Zealand 👍🏿
So sorry about the accident 😔💕 that really sucks! Glad no one was hurt. I hope it gets covered by insurance well.. owning a car is expensive 😭
-knocks on wood-
But for real, I am glad everyone is okay.
So bummed for you. :( Things will get better- you have an amazing outlook considering the circumstance. Sorry that this happened to you. ❤
Man im so sorry you are going through this .I hope everything turns out ok for you
Ya thank you 💛 I hope so too!
Glad your ok, that's what's important.
good luck on the road ahead hopefuly your van is fixed correctly and your journey will go on
I hope you continue to entertain us with your great enthusiasm and freedom of life. Every time i see you dive into a project, i know it will get accomplished and look awesome! So, we will see you soon then. Because your not one to back down from a challenge! 💪
Miss you and your content. Hope all is well! Merry Christmas!!!
Glad everyone was ok from the accident. Remember that the comeback is always bigger than the setback!
I love you gurl stay safe I'm glad you and who ever was driving are okay, bless you hope everything turns out well in the nesr future
