So i am asking myself thing. Is there a single "Horror Short Film" to not win an award?
All these gushing compliments seemed manufactured. This short film was not The Shining or The Others. C'mon guys.
I know a short film that has won "over 18 awards". Now marvel at what the exact number might be!
It is time for an HP Lovecraft Renaissance! If I don't get to see Elder Things in an Updated Adaptation of At the Mountain of Madness before I die, I am coming back as a ghost and haunting the hell out of somebody!
Damn right! One of the most under appreciated pieces of SciFi horror ever written. I saw a decent animated italian version here on UA-cam many years ago. Philistines! Predators, Aliens and Jedi . Nothing ever new. Nobody reads any more. Kudos to you. Let's haunt them all.
Now that`s a film idea. lol
I'm curious. Has The Mountains of Madness ever been made into a movie. I'm not aware of it if it has.
This is exactly the kind of atmospheric horror we need. Very well done, can't wait to see more!
Thank you
Very good acting job but the plot is kinda meh.. the guy obviously knew what he is messing with, so it was weird to see him so scared when he was "caught by surprise"
Hmm, I think he was scared bc A LITERAL DEMON GRABBED HIM BY THE THROAT
Like cmon your logic is flawed. would you be surprised to see an expert on great white sharks getting scared if one has literally got ahold of them?
If anything, the characters knowledge is likely what caused him to be scared when it grabbed him, bc he would know what's gonna happen to him
@@CraahGunn you've got a point) cheers!
the tension was masterful, my heart rate is quickened!
Thank you
I really like how most of this film seems like it's one continuous, smooth shot. Very skillful on a technical level.
It's good at building tension in a very short time, and just enough happens that the story makes sense, while enough is left unexplained that we're still mystified. Always a plus for cosmic horror.
take a shot every time he dramatically removes his glasses
(this was a cool little film)
A wonderful gem. The cinematography is just insane, and i highly suspect some of the sequences were actually played backward. The actor's performance is sick. For my taste, the masterpiece was extremely close, not showing the antagonist at all would have been way more lovecraftian in my opinion.
why do you use words with incorrect meanings?
@@sensorymats8544maybe it could be because he's not a native English speaker just like me, yeah, hard to think, I know
@@xano2921why do people do this stuff?
Watching this is really rough
Read some creepy book of old
Stuff to make your blood run cold
Do you really want attention
From some horrid. Cursed dimension?
Just put down that book and think
Tentacles that writhe and stink
Enter and their foul attack
Makes of you a tasty snack
Leave your dreams of eldritch power
Knit a sweater, grow a flower.
Read to children visit Paris
Stop reading De Vermis Mysteries.
the old choke-hold routine. I mean.. how does he not pull back from that instead of trying to jerk the demon into his world by the arm? I would not have grabbed that arm. Just step back and you're free. Nice buildup to that tho.
Wow wow wow. That was pure lovecraftian atmosphere… No words guys… Loved it!!!
Thank you
HPL steps out of the Door and asks "Excuse me kind Sir, Is this not Boston?"
Morale of the story: "Play stupid games, win stupid prices."
Very nice cinematography and atmospheric ambience. Keep up the good work.
A genuinely creepy little film, well done.!!!
Thank you Ray
I can see why this was an award winning film. Beautiful production all around!
Thank you sally
Perfectly done. Couldn't ask for better pacing, atmosphere and acting. Can't wait to see more!
Thank you Steve
Well done. I can see why this film won all the awards that it did. The atmosphere of the film was so well developed, and as jaded as I am, the ending still made me jump. 😊
And top-notch acting!
Thanks
Same. Definitely packed in that atmosphere. Really enjoyed this little yarn.
A bloody hand? That's your big finish?
Well what did he think was going to happen?!
This film was made by Fail Army
This seems very reliant on sound effects to add drama and tension to situations that lack them. Such effects ought to reinforce horror rather than be solely responsible for them.
Are you supposed to chuckle with relief at the ending, or did I misinterpret the deeper meaning?
Great creepy warehouse setting. You can imagine all the things stored there that never see the light of day. Loved the old worn looking book. The use of the glasses made it seem real as someone who wears glasses their use was effective. Two issues. I think we all got it. Knock, open, read...didnt need to keep repeating. To me made it seem like you thought the audience was too dumb to put it together. And not a fan of the end. Like what's the point? Wait another 100 years for someone to do it again? I guess it might be because he didnt open the door, or read the complete passage. Really enjoyed the short. Thank you.
Thank you
A truly heartwarming motion picture for the whole family!😮
The camera work IS the story here.
This was absolutely amazing 🤩
Thank you Terra
my door does that sometimes.
that was sressful...in a good way ty
I love how some ppl literally reads "pact with devil" to a ghostly opened door knowing it will be a bad idea.
Extremely well done...want this story to go on.
Thank you tim
Rood is also the Dutch word for the color red.
Lovecrafian through and through who needs 2 hours to build dread when 2 minutes can do it
Thank you
With this level of genius, a whole hollywood budget would blow the competition away.
It would come with the entire Hollywood agenda and politics, which would ruin it.
Big budgets don’t mean better
are u drunk, good sir?
Really interesting way to present this with the whole one-shot illusion thing. Good job!
Thank you Crust
How rood!
Damn the time went fast. Just when I was wanting more. But alas it was perfect in everything.
I would like to see more please and thank you.
Thank you Liam
Excellent! Ich will mehr!!!
I enjoyed this. Makes me want more. Great job. 👍🏾
Thank you Joseph
I was hoping for tentacles.
Bussare, Aprire, Leggere.
Very well made! Very entertaining! I didn't see that coming! Who ever said reading is fundamental, never got dragged into another dimension! Great Video! Thank You
This soo need to be the beginning scene of a feature
Yes! Acting, camerawork, directing, and the sound design! I love the snapping fingers!
Thank you Dale
LIKE IT
Welldone
A well produced grade 6 script.
Thank you
Pretty slick for a simple film. Somehow I knew something was going to reach out from the door and grab him. But I was expecting a tentacle.
Loved it! The camera was amazing, the actor and the ending!!!
Stellar camera work.
Thank you Aaron
Knock and the door will be opened..Ask and thee shall receive...
Seek and thee shall find. Matt 7:7
The guy is really smart, cool voice!
Plot twist; it was a militant Jehovah's Witness on the other side of the door.
THAT WAS AWESOME! 🤣🤣🤣🤣👍👍👍👍
Thank you
Spooky.
isn't it amazing how supposedly educated people do stupid stuff?
Überragender Kurzfilm
Boring and predictable. These days awards don't mean much.
That was an impressive short
Thank you
Awesome !
As someone who actually wears glasses... WTF? Pure nonsense. Also, meh.
Nice Short. But your Italian was katastrofic bussare, apparire leggere, ma bo: maybe you dont care
Nobody said the man who wrote the book would be nice you just hoped he would unfortunate for you he was not now you will join him locked up for eternity
Truly beautiful... That aching sense of loss... The autumnal melancholy... That "end of all things" ( or at least YOUR time) feel so perfectly expressed by Rutger Hauer in Blade Runner back when I was young... 1982? 83? So long ago... Now I am an old man and understand it even more. All times end, all men die...
As Edward James Olmos' character says about the replicant played by Sean Young: " Too bad she won't last......... But which of us does!?"
Fantastic Lovecraftian film!! You did an awesome job #SkyroadFilms
Thank you Keilan
Door needs replacing
Excellent!
Thank you
@@Falko00 this was a great composition and beautiful story telling! Best of luck in your future creations.
These Occultists never learn do they?
They all go barmy or get " taken" in the end. Ha! HPL warned ya!
Excellent atmosphereric Lovecraftian film.
Thank you
Well done, and to the point which is Lovecraftian cosmic terrror!!! 😎
Thank you, jay
Loving the non Euclidian visuals.
Phenomenal cinematography.
Thank you
The actor was very good. Speech, delivery, tone, cadence. Also has a striking, leading man look to him. Color, camera, lighting looks good too. Obviously a lot of work and care was given to this project. Must give respect to where it's due. That being said I don't see how this received several awards and I'm honestly wondering if whoever produced this simply added that particular graphic? I encourage whoever made this to keep on making features. There's potential there because it's not bad by any means at all.
Only three words for this: a-ma-zing! Rsrsrs...
Really well done! I think I sense a touch of Lynch and Badalamenti, which is fine by me.
Thank you
Camera work is a little much, but great job otherwise.
I suspect the creature had enough of the German accent 😀
The critiques in the comments are dumb. This is visionary and unique and excellent, please do more!
Hi Jacob, thank you so much. We are currently in the process of making a new Lovecraft short.
Sweet. Simple. Effective.
I liked how they helped his dumb ass along.
Does anyone know who the music is by at the end credits?
I love how you crafted this. I AM IN LOVE...craft.
BAIT AND SWITCH!!!! I'd be ashamed! Lovecraft would roll over in his grave.
I imagine the whole crew, consists of 3-4 peoples max.
Wonderful!!!!
well done!
Did not find it " suspenseful"
Does this mean the gate to hell is in a Home Depot ?
Just another day at the Amazon warehouse..
"Hell of hells - Pact with the devil" - what did he expect?:)
Da braucht jemand dringend eine Gleitsichtbrille 😂
When faced with a low budget, get creative.
All those awards, justified. This is a hella good short, reminds me of those geniuses who were making films like Nosferatu and Metropolis back in the day. I have a feeling that we're going to see more of this sort of thing coming out of Germany in the future, and I can't wait.
Thank you very much kenny
Do not call up that which you cannot put down.
Camera angles were immaculate
Fantastic! Thank you making this
Amazing and well-crafted!
Thank´s Dennis
Simple and effective. The camera work, lighting and sound is terror inducing. Very good work.
Thank you
What crap an I love Lovecraft horror
How was this Lovecraft inspired?
Lovecraft isn't always about giant octopus man and fish people, it's the fear of the unknown
That wardrobe was pretty rood
Klasse.Sehr gut gemacht und sehr unheimlich.
Great film!
Congratulations!
Thank you Jomo
oh. so thats what you can do with a camera
