- In this video I'm installing several pieces of leather trim, with deviated red stitching, inside my Porsche 911. I show you the parts and then the DIY installation steps. I'm excited to see how these pieces work with my black interior and deviated red seat belts, instrument cluster and sports chrono clock face. I'm hoping these pieces of trim will tied the cabin together nicely. What do you think? Let's check it out!
As ever, thanks so much for watching my videos and supporting my channel. Keep the comments and chat coming! More videos coming soon. Cheers!

Nice work, loving the door sills. My 2 cents worth as far as carbon is concerned, less is more. Close your eyes and touch carbon it feels like hard plastic then run your finger over the leather
Great point!
I was shocked how easy it was to replace the steering wheel cover. That is one of my favorite options on my 992. I am definitely adding that to my list of mods
Awesome!! Yeah, it's a super easy mod. Especially given that you don't have to touch the steering wheel. You know what I'm like with airbags.... :-) Haha.
Looking forward to chatting over this tomorrow!
Me too, cheers Andrew!!
I love the new trim pieces, I think the seats would just about complete the process ohh yes glove box. Keep up the good work.
Cheers Jose!!
After being rude about your ducktail I'm pleased to say that I really like your interior!
Hahaha. Thanks.
James, I've said it before and I'll say it again. You're a JUNKIE!! LOL I'm watching you swap out the clock and speaker grills and I say to myself, that looks incomplete (like crap really. Shh) w/o a full leather dash w/ deviated stitching. Same with the arm rest next to those naked seats. Yeah, definitely do the seats and dash. But you better do something nice for Ruthie and do something with that blue paperweight you have sitting there. :-D Always great videos. Cheers!
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣👍
Videos like this and following you is becoming very costly. Not sure to thank you or to throw stones. Thanks for both the Carbon Fiber and Pla-leather videos plus providing leads to retailers. Exclusive Options is now providing me some Pla-Leather w/ Carmine red stitching quotes. I'm in the slippery slope and trying to control myself. Not easy. I do recommend MA Carbon (in California) for those interested in a steering wheel swap, still using the same OEM P/N wheel but in a new config, such as a combo of carbon and leather with 12 o'clock stripe.
I wasn’t sure about the Carbon fiber piece onto new panel with red stitching and then I saw 👀 you install it and I was like oooohhh yeaaahhh, so sexy 😂
Hahahah. Glad you like it!!
Wow wow. Very nice James. I love the new look. You inspire me to do some of that in my car.
Black leather with yellow stitching!! That will look great!
Looks beautiful - great video.
Cheers mate!
I just purchased the EO lightweight bucket booster covers. Very good quality and perfect fit.
Nice!!
James, next time buy the 4S. It’s works out cheaper and you can still tinker with it !
Haha.. 100%
Someone is going to get a heck of a nice car when you decide to sell this!! Looks great
🤣🤣👍
Great video, thanks for posting. I have upgraded some interior trim and your vid has spurred me on to do more. It never stops!
Can't stop, won't stop. Don't stop!! Haha.
Another great informative video. Two thumbs up!
Thanks so much!!
Superb James ! Everything is ok here in Norway, season end 1st of october.. 997 now at the lift, upgrading to powerflex bushings all over 😁😁
Good to hear Trond, all the best!
Hi James, finally I see you changing to a leather dashboard ;-)
Coming along nicely, James. Seats and dash, will improve the overall aesthetic...
You know it makes sense.
Cheers Nic!!
Hi James. I ended up finishing entire dash, including the defrosters. Looks fantastic and total factory appearance. So now considering the Exclusive Option Door Sills that you had installed in this video. My question is, during the time you continued owning this car, how did these wear (especially the drivers side) in terms of scratching from shoes, etc.? As you know, with the factory plastic sills, they can get fairly scratched in time. thanks.
Nice work!!! The leather inner door sills have the potential to get ruined pretty quickly. I was constantly worried about hitting them every time I got in and out of the car. I managed to keep them in near perfect condition but only because I was really careful with them. All of the other leather pieces I added wore very well. No issues.
Very impressive work and the result is amazing with red stitching, your 991.1 interior is fabulous.
I have made the same interior custom on my 991.2 but carbon, and i must admit your leather interior is best looking.
Thanks again for your video
Looks smart James 👍
Cheers mate!!
It looks great James!! I recently (and finally) got my first 911!! The only interior mod I really want to do is a steering wheel update, a new head unit, and maybe some yellow gauges. But I have time, just joined the club last month.
Congratulations!!! That’s awesome! Really happy for you. Send me some photos!
@@AutoAmateur Will do!!
Good job man 💯👍🏼
Thank you, cheers!!
Seats 💺 Seats 💺 Seats 💺 You need matching front seats! 👏
Hahahahaha
great DIY Video ! Can't wait for the Addition of the Moshammer Tail !.!.!>>>>
Thanks, me too!! 🥳🥳🥳
Nice!
Thanks mate!!!
I will be at Luft in Indy with my GTS! You should do a meet up!
Good plan!!
@@AutoAmateur you set it up and I will be there! I’m local so it’s easy for me.
I wrapped mine with Alcantara.
Nice touch!!
Looks very classy.
Appreciate that, thank you!
Love the upgrades. so many things I'm looking into for my 986 :)
Cheers Jeremey!!!
Looks fantastic James!!
The carbon on the Sports Chrono really set that off nicely!
Definitely do the seats!
Cheers!
ALinCAL
The new trim pieces look great but I was thinking even before you mentioned it that it really needs the matching dashboard. The 18 way seats would complete the job. Sorry James but you really need to compete the look but it will look amazing when completed. Right, I now have to get into eBay looking for great leather deviated stitching pieces for my lower dash! 🤦🏽♂️
Hahaha. Thanks and good luck!
These all look fantastic James. I’m considering the door sills but I’m sure I’ll scratch them up over time. Can’t help but laugh at myself for wanting the end plates too, but I do!
I’m in the UK so struggling to get an order in with Exclusive Option. One day they’ll reply. I hope. :D
Cheers Christian! I've had friends from overseas order from them before. Are you placing an order or trying to ask a product question?
@@AutoAmateur they replied! Steering column and dash side pieces ordered. 👍
Great video! You know your going to buy the seats and the dash 😃 even if it is just to make another entertaining video for us. You inspired me to replace some of the trim in my 991. Would you be willing to part with your old leather armrest with Porsche crest?
Thanks Stephen! The armrest has already gone I'm afraid.
Was worth a try. I’ll keep looking on eBay 😃
What’s your intro music? I’ve always enjoyed it and I know I’m in for some 911 garage fun when I hear it. :)
Haha. Cheers Kelly! The intro track is Paradise Circus by Massive Attack, the Zed's Dead remix. I love the track... just don't watch the accompanying music video around any family members.
@@AutoAmateur oh I should have known. I dig Massive Attack. Just hadn’t heard that one before.
Looks great! New seats and matching dash would look good. Why not the rear matching red seat belts though? I think that would be needed first as it’s pretty obvious those mismatch the front belts.
Basically because doing the rear seat belts is a royal pain the arse. Haha. I'll get to them at some point. Just not in 90 degree summer heat. That's a good winter project. :)
@@AutoAmateur Ah, ok. That makes sense. Good winter project in the garage.
Hi Auto amateur
I like very much your channel it’s very interesting and helpful
Actually thanks to one of your videos I learned about the French company that makes Porsche accessories.
I just received my Darus rear wing for my 996
I going to the body shop on Monday to have it color match.
I know you visit my city Phoenix.
It’s good to have a break from the cool, hahahaha
It’s probably the best time of the year around here.
I hope you had a pleasant time.
My question is I found a 997 steering wheel that I would like to put it in my 996 is that possible?
Please let me know, thanks
Great content. I want to upgrade my wing mirrors from the black my sapphire blue GTS was specced with, to carbon. Irrespective of the insane cost of OEM parts, the installation looks extremely hard for a true amateur. Comments or thoughts?
Keep a look out for a new video coming from Nine Eleven South. Andrew just replaced his factory mirrors with the sport versions. They look epic! There is another video from Cam Carlisle who upgraded his 991 mirrors to the GT3 carbon fiber versions. That’s a good DIY video too. Basically to do the job you need to remove the door panels (6/10 difficulty) and then a few bolts to release to mirrors (5/10). I have a DIY video for removing the panels at least. If and when I do this mod, I’ll be sure to let you know!
Great video man!
Thanks!
"I don't want to go too far..." -- lol...
Very cool swaps though :) Wish I had the patience! :)
Hahaha. Cheers Danny!
you left that ugly steering wheel , you should have updater it
get the hood
Not helping. 🥴🤣🤣🤣🤣
