  • A simple step by step video on how to set up the M-Vave Chocolate to switch patches on the NUX MG30.
In my search for an explanation on how to do this, I found it not so easy to understand from the instructions and videos I found. Hopefully this helps others who are struggling.

Thank you so much for the tip to turn off Bluetooth on your phone 😅. I couldn't until I saw your video and turned off my phone's Bluetooth 🙌🏻

Thank you for sharing this. But what do you do beyond bank 8? The MG30 has 32 banks...is there no way to access the 24 above 8 with the Chocolate? Is there a way to have it just roll the patches like the left and center switches on the device? I don't understand why NuX doesn't make patch rolling an option for the included two-button switch so it can more easily be used in tabletop mode...that's all I'd need, really.

Good question and that would be a great use of the two button FS. However I haven’t done any more experiments with this setup since I bought my Line 6 Pod Go. Someday I’ll take the MG30 out of the box and mess around with it again because it’s a great sounding unit!

@@JakeHerrick So I broke down and bought the Chocolate. I can use the Bluetooth B adapter to connect a MIDI keyboard wirelessly, and I can use the Chocolate to control playback on my MacBook and iPad (stop/start replay/skip). But what I can't get working is to have the Chocolate change banks on the MG30...it's like the MIDI B unit doesn't even see the Chocolate. I also made sure to turn off Bluetooth entirely on any devices that might interfere. I have the exact setup and settings you show in this video. Doesn't the MIDI B somehow need to be paired to the Chocolate? I can't find any info on this. Thanks for any help!

Hmmm…interesting. I would just unplug everything and start over from the beginning. Around the 3 minute mark I do explain pairing the midi dongle with the chocolate. It comes up as “foot ctl” on the app. Apologies if thats not what you meant. Also, I think it just changes presets, not banks. I’d have to mess around with it again, but everything is in storage. I hope that helps!

@@jerrick7771 I have been able to pair the Chocolate with both my iPad and MacBook and it works fine. I set it to "Program A" and also set the MIDI B to "Host Only." You seem to be able to plug it into the MG30 and it just works. Mine does nothing, even though both Bluetooth lights are steady. How do the Chocolate and the MIDI B communicate without pairing them to each other? I just discovered, though, that if I unplug the MIDI B, the Chocolate Bluetooth light starts flashing, so it seems they are talking, but it's not switching anything on the MG30. Frustrating that there is SO little info out there! At 3:00 or so you talk about pairing the Chocolate with a phone and CubeSuite, but not with the MIDI B.

I agree that there isn’t enough info out there! So, at 3:00 there I’m not pairing the midiB with my phone.
I’m using phone or iPad to pair the midiB with the chocolate via Bluetooth in order to prepare the duo to send/receive with the MG30 when it’s plugged into the MG30.
That sucks you’re having so much trouble. I had hoped this tutorial video would eliminate the trouble that I had. I hope I’m being helpful!

Any issues so far in latency upon changing patch using mvave? Specially from clean to dirt patch change.

    • @JakeHerrick
      @JakeHerrick  Рік тому

Yes, there is a little latency. I recommend switching patches in between songs and using scenes to seamlessly add boost, chorus, delays, etc.

Cant this be connected directly via Usb micro + C type cable instead of wireless...?

I’ve tried it that way and unfortunately it doesn’t work as far as I know.

Yep. I figured the limitation, the usb is for charging only. Connectivity is limited to either wireless or TRS Midi, problem.is my MG300 has no Midi in.😂

Thank you for your question! They are switch toppers from Donner, although there are a few different types and brands out there.

Hello Sir, Good Tutorial. I have already Bought a PedalBot PB4 MU for My Nux MG30. It has Also 4 Switches Midi Controller, but the other unit of it has many variations. I can swtich to any presets in a Banks, Scenes and Tap Tempo.

Well you tried. I guess I’ll just keep pinning around. I can still use it as a footswitch and for a MIDI keyboard with the adapter.

You may be right. Hopefully someone will discover how to assign an effect to each footswitch someday.
