How is it that Stagecoach are able to provide a much better service than the First Group? Even just looking at the general age and upkeep of their vehicles is like chalk and cheese. Stagecoach without a doubt are far superior.

So firstly Stagecoach and Adl are basically owned by the same person so Stagecoach had way cheaper fleets and costs As for maintenance Stagecoach are borderline illegal and I’ve worked for all bus companies in many depots First are superior In standards technology maintenance procedures legalities etc What you need to understand is they are private companies who are only in this to make profit for shareholders and directors FIrst have the biggest gas electric and hybrid fleet in the country they spend loads on it but Stagecoach have a bigger company and they do run routes at a loss first won’t run any route that’s costing them
